Here's another from the pre-Patreon days! Man... this might be my favorite Friedman solo. So much sass, so much aggression, and the COOLEST phrasing on those signature Friedman 2 string arpeggios. Beyond cool! Grab the TAB and learn this one up!!! If you've been wanting to learn Tornado of Souls but are finding it too brutally fast, i recommend starting here; its got a lot of the same picking and phrasing techniques you'll need, but at a much more manageable tempo!

What Friedman solo should we learn next?!?!

Marty Friedman Killing Road (Megadeth) solo lesson | Weekend Wankshop 237

Downloadable TABS, bonus lessons, backing tracks, and MORE available on my Patreon page! https://www.patreon.com/BenEllerGuitars instagram: BenEllerGuitars #weekendwankshop237 #weekendwankshop facebook.com/unclebeneller Hey there kids! Its Uncle Ben Eller, and on Weekend Wankshop 237, we are going to learn one of the best solos in heavy metal history: Killing Road by Megadeth, featuring Marty Friedman and Dave Mustaine (from the criminally-underrated Youthanasia album)! Ever since i put up my cover video of this legendary solo, i've had a lot of you guys asking for a full lesson breakdown on it... and since i aim to please, here we are! This is an amazing solo if you're looking to learn all about Marty's amazing phrasing and arpeggio use; The Tornado of Souls solo features some great triad licks, and this one may be even cooler, in my opinion! In this video, we will talk about the tuning, tones, and all the licks from both of these solos. This is a note-for-note breakdown, so take your time with it! Its a pretty dang tough solo. And don't skimp on that awesome Friedman vibrato!!! Using my Ibanez RG550 with Fishman Fluence Classic pickups, straight into my Fractal Axe-FX III using the "Learning to Lead" preset from the Petrucci Rig. I am so amazed by the Axe-FX III, it is INCREDIBLE! Thanks so much for watching! What other classic solos would you like to learn here on my channel?

You, Sir, are the best 1 dollar investment I ever made in my life! Always wait for your videos. The way you explain concepts and the basics behind them are second only to the quality of support materials you provide (tabs and midi). I learned so much, improving my technique, seeing the fretboard, and developing my ear. Just continue, please....
