I always wondered if Gohan ever got dunked on back then the same Boruto gets now by fans of ye olden days

I get the feeling that Ultimate Gohan had the same flaw as the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. We saw what harsh editing did to Toriyama's writing for the Cell Saga. But when you're the new editor for a legend like Toriyama it's probably hard to argue against "The guy who made Dragon Ball" as it is for "The guy who made Star Wars". Without good feedback, even the best writers can put out trash.
