The Centurion Mk 3 was the first version of the Centurion to use the 20 pounder gun. In service from 1948, its Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot round had twice the armour penetration ability of the feared Second World War German 88mm.

Which one? The l/56 or the l/70? The regular round or there tungsten core rounds? There are to many variables to even get an idea here. Wouldn't a specific number not be more informative?

I've always had the impression that as tanks go, the Centurion was one of the greats, maybe the first really great British tank. Most telling was that the Israelis used so many of them, so well.
