Someone I was excited for a few years ago was Australian Jack Becker. He is coming off a loss but it was due to him breaking his leg twenty seconds into the fight. That's been more than a year ago and he's set to return back to action next month. At one time Becker was 7-0 and then dropped two in a row. After that, he took three years off and came going 3-0. He ended up winning the Eternal MMA lightweight title in 2021.

Becker's striking is better than what is was but it's not where he's best. Becker is a jiu-jitsu specialist that was even an ADCC trials medallist. Becker is a solid wrestler with chain wrestling ability and good technique. Actively landing ground and pound it's mainly Becker constantly looking for the submission. His array of submission attacks is great as he can attack from any position and any limb. All five of Becker's submissions come from different subs.

Becker is all pressure using striking to close the distance to work takedowns. To complement his ground game Becker is a solid wrestler. When you see Becker on his back he quickly goes into offensive mode or quickly gets back to his feet. When it’s Becker on top he’s lockdown with impressive control. On the feet he has good technique with some of the combinations he throws. He has a sneaky good uppercut and heavy chopping leg kicks. His striking defense isn't as good though as he's open to getting hit a lot.

I like Becker and it's important to see how he looks when he comes back. If he didn't get hurt he probably would be in the UFC now. If everything goes right I believe we will see him in the UFC in 2024
