It's Just Murder; Least You Know I Care | Sacred Symbols, Episode 289

The most infamous character in The Last of Us franchise is undoubtedly Abby, and with her casting in the HBO rendition of the famous Naughty Dog series now set (along with a couple of other key roles), we're starting to get more clarity about just what her on-screen vendetta with Ellie will look like come 2025. Are we about to relive 2020 all over again, or will fans be pleased? And then there's Xbox, a conspicuous subject that seems to keep coming up on Sacred Symbols for one simple reason: Smoke indicates fire. Fresh on the back of denouncements about GamePass on PlayStation comes compelling industry rumors of multiple first party Xbox games en route to the PlayStation ecosystem, potentially in the form of Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. Does this move represent the opening frames of a coup de grace? Other news this week includes Helldivers 2 PC details, a DualSense model with a better battery, disastrous Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League previews, rampant corporate layoffs, the confusing reemergence of Gravity Rush and Patapon, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Is gaming experiencing a dangerous economic bubble? Could Horizon's rumored MMO skip PlayStation 5? Have we been too hard on Spider-Man 2? Can Chris raise the spirits of a listener merely by changing his usual podcast outro ever-so-slightly? Start the Good Habit at https://www.tryfum.com/SACRED to save 10% off the Journey Pack today. Dude, Dustin’s thumbnails have been extra good lately.

Chris is the Ellie we need, and the Ellie we deserve

My issue with Suicide Squad is the HUD. I’m shocked they think that HUD is acceptable, it looks like a mess. I was excited for the game before but I dunno man

Never understand the Dualsense battery issue for people

Appreciate the anecdote + shoutout for wearing hearing protection Dustin 😅 some of the tinnitus and hyperacusis stories I've heard are wild.

Colin I think Hardspace Shipbreaker is right up your alley. I played it for many hours. You are just a worker who breaks apart spaceships and scrap the parts for money with a gravity gun and cutting laser. Its really relaxing.

Holy cursed thumbnail Batman

Regarding the discussion on twitch and the state of livestreaming in general I really think LSM should consider having Devin Nash (youtube) on a sacred symbols + episode for a very in depth episode. I would love to see Colin Interview Devin and I think Colin would find it very illuminating to his curious brain.

left this on yt, but i'll repeat it here as well... since my mom is a sign language interpreter, it was always told to us kids to always wear hearing protection in loud settings. so when i started going to shows when i was like 10, i was always using earplugs. a good piece of advice to the younger listeners you can never reclaim hearing once it's gone. it's just gone. so today is as good a day as any to start using hearing protection. i can't count how many bands ive seen live, probably close to 1000, when you factor in all the multi-day festivals ive attended since 98, and i feel like my hearing is just as good now as it's always been. so yeah. there's my psa for the day :)

So after you brought up reset era, I went and checked out a thread concerning LSM, Colin and Brad. Talk about an echo chamber, one guy got a ban for saying he listened to the first episode or sacred sign and enjoyed it. The rule he broke was “Dismissing concerns around bigotry.” They seem like a good bunch, and they deserve each other. Brad was a great pickup LSM and I hope Brad enjoys his time here.

Never been to resetera but that place sounds horrible.
