The most infamous character in The Last of Us franchise is undoubtedly Abby, and with her casting in the HBO rendition of the famous Naughty Dog series now set (along with a couple of other key roles), we're starting to get more clarity about just what her on-screen vendetta with Ellie will look like come 2025. Are we about to relive 2020 all over again, or will fans be pleased? And then there's Xbox, a conspicuous subject that seems to keep coming up on Sacred Symbols for one simple reason: Smoke indicates fire. Fresh on the back of denouncements about GamePass on PlayStation comes compelling industry rumors of multiple first party Xbox games en route to the PlayStation ecosystem, potentially in the form of Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush. Does this move represent the opening frames of a coup de grace? Other news this week includes Helldivers 2 PC details, a DualSense model with a better battery, disastrous Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League previews, rampant corporate layoffs, the confusing reemergence of Gravity Rush and Patapon, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Is gaming experiencing a dangerous economic bubble? Could Horizon's rumored MMO skip PlayStation 5? Have we been too hard on Spider-Man 2? Can Chris raise the spirits of a listener merely by changing his usual podcast outro ever-so-slightly?

Not wearing hearing protection around loud noise/music is the auditory equivalent of not wearing a condom (i.e., stupid). It might 'feel better,' but you're guaranteed to have negative effects in the long run. I got my face shoved into a speaker at a punk show 10 years ago without earplugs and have had tinnitus ever since—like Dustin said, it only takes once. That said, you can buy musicians' earplugs which lower the dB of surrounding noise without muffling the sound quality—I wear them to live shows all the time now and they're great.

Just wanted to give a small correction and added context regarding NY sports fandom. The Polo Grounds were located in Manhattan, not Long Island, and while there are obviously Mets fans on Long Island, you will find plenty in the boroughs because they inherited Brooklyn Dodger and NY Giants fans when they moved to California, as the Mets were the only National League team left in the City to root for. And no self respected NY basketball fan roots for the Nets unless you are Evan Roberts lol. Can't wait to see the gang in NYC! -Evan from Queens

Hey baby boys. Yes, Hispanic is someone from a country that speaks Spanish. It comes from “Hispania” which used to be the name of Spain (España). Latino is someone from Latin America, meaning countries from this side of the world whose languages come directly from Latin (Spanish, French, Portuguese). Love you guys. Take care.

People really have no idea how much theft Walmart has of disc based media

I find it interesting the current sentiment is the world is ending and is at the greatest point of strife ever. Like y’all do know there was a world war before right? Two in fact. Feel like that was probably a little worse…

Please stop saying "cooking". It's so cringe inducing

Everyone is incredibly dramatic nowadays because of social media-fueled sensationalism. Things are bad right now but not nearly as bad as they were in like... the 70's, even. The US is NOT in an open, declared war, for once.
