Lies Of P Spoilercast and Review Discussion | Defining Duke Ultimate, Episode 122

Unlike many games in the Souls genre, Lies Of P focuses heavily on its story through both its characters and environment without leaving it to the item descriptions or YouTubers to do the heavy lifting. Joining me (Matty) is executive producer Dustin Furman and Punchin' Up's Gene Park to answer your burning questions about Lies Of P. Is it too close to the From Soft games where it fails to set itself apart? What do we make of THAT ending with THAT sequel setup? What of the bosses that whopped us one too many times? It's time for a deep dive into one of the most surprising games of the year!

Good stuff boys. I'm gonna play this any day now. Right after Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, Valheim, Dying Light, Jedi: Survivor and Starfield.

I'm pretty sure the Lies of P deflect works the same as the Sekiro deflect. In both, you have to block before the attack lands. Sekiro just has a surprisingly generous window of time after you press block where it counts landed attacks as being deflected (half a second). This video shows how generous that window is: https://youtu.be/bejKX5vw2-Y?si=YkQhemvWeDEF1Rkv

I wish patreon had a "watch later" feature. I definitely want to play this, especially after the teases of the unique ending on SS, and I'd like an easy way to find this episode after I'm done.
