Hey, all!  It's time to submit your questions, comments, concerns, thoughts, and ideas for Episode 145 of Defining Duke.

Greetings Dukes! Last week Cog mentioned wanting to hear from a hardcore Forza/Gran Turismo fan. (Credentials: GT since 1998 and Forza since 2011) I played throughout the early access period and can confidently say this is a solid base to build upon. It does feel a little bare bones for a full price release, unfortunately, but the driving and physics feel like the best that Turn 10 has ever produced. The car leveling system gets in it's own way for the seasoned driver, but I think it's a godsend for newer players trying to understand how various parts affect the vehicle. It doesn't hurt that the game looks and runs beautifully. Overall, we have another high quality burger from the woefully underrated Turn 10 team. Thanks for the high quality content and have a, Kiryu and Ichiban must have another face off to bridge our divided dukes, kind of day.

Hey guys first time writing in but long time lurker. But with how good halo infinite season 5 is looking with firefight crosscore for helmets,forgeable ai and more coming. How likely are you guys to come back to infinite I have been loving it since season 4. But is it the Dawn of the comeback for halo infinite only time will tell. Also pierre hintze really saved mcc and said I got one more in me. Please keep this man 343 because he is saving halo right now. I’m having a pouring my milk in the bowl first then cereal kind of day.

Hey guys, With the PS news regarding movies being added to PS Plus (you may wanna explain it in case people aren't aware of this service being converted then added etc) would you like to see trans media bonuses added to the Xbox ecosystem? I heard that back in the day you used get in game items when you unlocked special achievements. I know it's a bit different but I think it'd be good to have in game items unlocked through different ways other than microtransactions? Maybe unlock a skin for Cyberpunk by watching Edge runners? Or even going along the Ubisoft connect route and tying it into first party games and first party trans media projects? I just think it's be fun way to encourage engagement on a broader scale. Have a "I've had a bunch of scans and blood tests but it turns out I'm fine" kinda day!

Hello Matty and Cog, I picked up a Series X a few months ago. I am back in the Xbox ecosystem after a 10 year hiatus and there are now new things that weren't there before. One of things is Microsoft Rewards. Do either of you use the Rewards Program? Is it worth getting into? Would love to get the Dukes take on the program. Stay well and have a "my kids played on my save file and ruined my progress" kind of day.

Hey Duke boys! First off I wanna start by saying thanks for always making an amazing show! I’ve fallen out of love with my Xbox over the last year but I still love tuning in every week to listen to Y’all’s show! My question for the both of you how do you balance replaying older games that are tied to upcoming sequals while still playing all the new games coming out! Love the show and keep being the best Xbox podcast around!

Activision tweeted out: “While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare® III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.” Sounds to me like we can expect future Activision titles Day One on Game Pass for sure. But that got me wondering, how are they going to offset those sales? We can expect crazy preorder bonuses for sure, but do you think we’ll see more monetization options in all their games? Will Activision take nickel and diming to new heights or will big Microsoft’s pockets cover us? Gotta know how the dukes feel about this. Neither of you guys seemed to remember that it was addressed back in June during the big FTC trial, Xbox vice president Sarah Bond pointed out that a current agreement in place with Sony keeps Call of Duty from hitting Game Pass before January 2025!!! Old versions of COD MIGHT be able to be added to Game Pass, but no new versions till 2025. 🎺Whomp whomp 🎺 Have a mistake that may give Matty a fighting chance to win the draft in 2024 kinda day.

Hello Kazuya Kirdukes, Matty! As someone who 100%’d every mainline Yakuza game I highly recommend you begin your descent into the series. The emotion you will feel towards characters is unlike any other game. Start with 0 and just go in order and enjoy the ride. You can bust through (pause) these games relatively fast if you aren’t going for 100%. I look forward to any future videos you make on it. Have a I woke up to a Mr.Matty Yakuza video and all I can say is OOHWHEE! kind of day.

Hey dukes hope all is well, I was wondering what the dukes thoughts were on the fact that the news that the cyberpunk sequel may not be first person? As someone who really likes cyberpunks first person exploration, gunplay and Melee combat, I feel like it would be kind of a waste to throw away everything that they did in the first game to try and make cyberpunk a “just one” type game. Curious to hear your thoughts on what you hope they decide and thanks for the great content every week chooms.

Dukes, do you think X-Defiant was shelved due to Ubisoft getting cloud gaming rights. Is there more or less incentive to have your free to play game up and running with its rival being in your service catalog? Is this more strategic play of banking on call of duty success or mitigating x defiant's failure??

Whaddup Duke boys! Colin on SS has been saying for a while that he thinks Game Pass will end up on PlayStation at some point. I think with Jim Ryan stepping down, this might be more likely. Thoughts?

Hey Dukes, What's a game you played and enjoyed via Game Pass, but will readily acknowledge it has serious flaws? For me, it would be The Ascent. I loved the top down twin stick combat within the beautifully immersive and detailed world, but will admit it had serious issues with the map and economy. Thanks and have a "i may have had migraines, covid, pneumonia, and diverticulitis, but worst of all i had to play more Redfall" kind of day.

Hey Dukes, How do you find yourselves, if at all, incorporating games into the health as wealth mantra? For example: I’ve found that playing a turn based game while on the treadmill can make the time melt away, and I have a friend who’s getting exercise motivation from wanting to cosplay Richter Belmont in the future. We all know Cog is all about video game soundtracks at the gym (and I’d love to hear recommendations on that front), but does it ever go any further? Hello dukes, want to bring the heat today, I was watching, the latest Mr matty play video about redfall, and this thought crossed my mind, how many games in recent times where the initial presentation is way better then the actual game, asking because this is a thing that we are seeing more recently. The one that got me the most was forza motorsports specifically because of my friend who wanted me to get an Xbox show me the gameplay show for that game back in January where the footage was like porn for cars, way better them GT7, but the actual gameplay now it looks about the same( and I don’t even care about cars games). What is going on with these studios where they show you things that are not the real game. It is just me, do I need new glasses? Have a “ don’t talk to me about buy anything until hellblade drop “ kind of day.

Hey Dukes, I recently watched Matty's latest Redfall video and he acknowledged something that's been bothering me for a while: XBox fans' desire to declare everything a win, despite it not being the win advertised. Redfall is a dud and Starfield, while good, doesn't feel like the big homerun XBox needed. Rather than demand more from the various XBox studios, fans do things like bomb patch notes of BG 3 about how much better Starfield is, acting like its very existence threatens them. What is going on here? Why is there so much toxicity going around that even a game that's not remotely related to the console wars gets bombed with nonsense? Guys, I can’t stop playing Starfield. I’m on NG+10 because I wanted the maxed-out Starborn suit and Ship, my character is a Introvert Gangster born in the streets of Neon, so I’ve been stealing, smuggling, and just doing hoodrat shit. I have 200+ hours, and I'm about to create a second character to do a good playthrough and knock out the remaining achievements for Outposts, Vanguard, and Freestar Collective. Yes I'm going 1000 GS on this game. I literally can't play anything else right now. Thoughts?

Hi Guys, Remedy recently revealed that Alan Wake 2 will have a performance mode on Series X and PS5, but it was originally designed as a 30 FPS game. With more current-gen only 3rd party games coming out, do you think that most will be primarily designed for 30 FPS? Also, in an IGN interview with Remedy's Communication Director, he spoke about the difficulties with developing for the Series S.  I know that every developer is different, but do you foresee developers continuing to speak out about Series S development in the future? Hey Dukes. I know you are not Forza players but im sure you have heard the rumblings from the PC space regarding performance. 6 years of development what appears to be another underbaked final product. Of course there was the Redfall debacle and even Starfield's lack of optimisation for Nvidea cards and missing basic functionality like brightness controls, HDR calibration ect. When will Xbox stop 'learning' and start delivering day 1. We should be long long past this. Cheers boys. Phil

Hello slanderous Matty and Humble Cog, I’m here to respectfully disagree with Mattys opinion on ac mirage. What you gotta understand about me as I am an ac purist, meaning I strongly dislike ac odyssey. I’m kinder to Valhalla because Darby returning writer from ac revelations and black flag came back. Anyways I can understand what matty dislikes about ac mirage, but this what we were asking for. Majority of the ac content creators who wanted this, absolutely praised the game and adored it. Yes it’s not like ac Unity but that never was the intention. The devs themselves said this game is a homage to ac1 (and Ubisofts sly way of not doing an ac1 remake. I understand matty gripes, but you can’t really expect a game made about 2 years more or less to be the next evolution of ac. Respectfully Matty I think Boredoux cooked with their first game. Farewell dukes and rip the Mariners.

BioWare Alumnus and current head of new studio Archetype Entertainment, James Ohlen, has recently done an interview with Rock, Paper, Shotgun. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/if-anthem-is-the-anti-bioware-game-then-james-ohlen-is-correcting-the-balance In it he talks about the old days at Buoware and a little about his new team. This usually happens when teams are getting ready for a reveal of their game and it makes sense since they have been working on a project for a couple of years now. What are your guy’s thoughts about this. I’m a big fan of newer teams being formed and making new ip, but recent examples have put a damper on my excitement. I think both Immortals of Aveum and Callisto Protocol are fun enough games but both were critical disappointments. I want to believe this one might be different but I don’t know. This being Wizards of the Coast casts a little doubt considering their last internal game was Dark Alliance, but it’s also cool seeing Wizards/Hasbro invest into the AAA space. Just wanted a potential gut check on where you guys are at with this game and its potential. Thanks and have a GameStop had the ultimate edition of Midnight Suns for $10 kinda day. Steven.

Dukes, I come here to make a statement. I’m not trying to be mean spirited. I signed up for pc game pass and downloaded Starfield. I didn’t care for it. I have to say this. I started playing Bethesda games because I do not like first person shooters. They have a formula that is so unique, I cannot understand why Bethesda has spent the last 12 years making mid fps’s with persuasion mini games wrapped around them. I can no longer support this. That is all Thank You guys DH
