Tipping, The Downside to Online Shopping, Marriage Advice, Warranties | Constellation, Episode 40

It's time for more Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by Punching Up co-host Micah Watson and LSM associate producer Ben Smith. Two of the four topics this week flow into each other rather naturally, and so we opted to start there. Micah inquires as to our respective online shopping habits, and specifically what we'd consider the negatives to the universal convenience of click-to-buy commerce. Funneling into that is Ben's topic, warranties on the more expensive items we acquire. Are we willing to pay the upfront extra cost to protect our investments, or would we rather roll the dice? Speaking of spending money, Dagan's topic concerns America's increasingly-aggressive culture of tipping. Where do we draw the line? Finally, with their nuptials just weeks away, Colin prods Dagan and Ben on his and Micah's behalf for their advice for a happy, healthy, and fruitful marriage.

Dagen, just stop with the blue collar = broke as shit minimum wage dummies. There are plenty of white collar runners that get coffee dummy types out there. I know you think we are the lowest form of human because we don’t work in an air condition home like you and get to drive Audis. There is nothing wrong with using your mind and body at a job, we don’t need your pity and we aren’t all coal miners or burger flippers.

Just an FYI about big stores like Walmart "donating" when you are at the checkout. Its all bullshit. Walmart is taking that money then taking the tax break for donating it. They don't give 2 fucks about the charity. They just sucker people to donate on their behalf. STOP DOING IT.

Unsolicited I know, and a bit late; my wife and I have been together for 11 years, married for 5 years. In our relationship what works (and this in part could be because we’re both sort of needy people) is always showing your appreciation for eachother. Whether that’s buying one one another a favorite snack, doing something as simple as loading the dishwasher. Saying “hey, thank you for doing that” - it’s nice to hear, it’s nice to be appreciated and feel wanted. Just being thankful for one another. Happy for Micah and Colin, here’s hoping your big day is as special as you’re hoping for❤️

On Amazon, I still shop at amazon for some things, but other items I go elsewhere. Computer parts for instance, Amazon's search for computer parts is abysmally bad. I'd rather hit Newegg or Microcenter for most computer parts. Same for most electronic devices. When it comes to food, they're my last resort. They can get some things I can't find anywhere else though. Books though, Amazon's still one of the best. I can get some things at B&N but some books are only available via Amazon properties. A lot of the time though, with Amazon the hard part is sifting through dozens of low-grade trash items from chinese resellers to find the one thing that isn't from one of them... Amazon is absolutely lousy with them now.
