Sacred x Duke: The Great Xbox Leaks Summit | Sacred Symbols+, Episode 334

As we gather once more for an episode of Sacred Symbols x Defining Duke here on Sacred+, we do so with a brief agenda. Top on the list is going over our respective thoughts on the recent FTC-related Xbox leaks, which is something our audience has asked us to do as a single unit. We like to give you what you want, so that's up-top. But deeper in the show, you'll find an array of topics to complement our up-front story. Where have all the PlayStation exclusives gone? And does it even matter, anyway? Will Sony find success in the games-as-a-service space? What's our gaming roadmap for the rest of the year? All of that -- and more! -- on the other side of play.

Noo the video won't load for me as well. I can't wait so I'm listening to the audio now ❤️ I'll be back to watch that video when it's fixed 😁

TWO PODCASTS ENTER ONE PODCAST LEAVES THUNDERDOME Man, I want Xbox to be successful but I pray they never buy Nintendo. That would be terrible.

Jonathan Turner

Love these Episodes. Absolute treat every time.

Interesting episode. I’m suprised there was almost no talk about the email of Xbox wanting to buy Nintendo, maybe it’s been rehashed but I would’ve liked to hear there opinions

Bryant

Dishonored is overrated, play Deus Ex instead

Jordan Falduto

DAMN I LOVE THESE EPISODES. Just a fuckin all star lineup with the best takes in gaming. No misses. A spectrum of valid thoughts and opinions. My only thing is that five is truly a crowd when trying to hear from everyone!

Meatball

Sacred x Duke 🔥

I was honestly a little disappointed as I feel like they didn’t really get into their differing viewpoints on gamepass profitably. It almost seemed like Colin was trying to avoid being antagonistic with his questioning of Matty. I don’t want them to come to blows but I was hoping for more of a debating of the points.

Rory Powers Right Areola

I feel like you guys aren’t actually debating or answering questions asked just taking turns stating your general opinion without actually challenging each other. We need someone like Jaffe to actually make things interesting.

Liz Folley

I think it's because the expectations are not clear. Is this episode supposed to be a SS x DD conversation about the current state of the consoles or is it a (and what feels like) "question my opinions with Colin Moiarty"

Raymond Stuart

Listen to Defining Duke 142 and then listen to this episode. DD142, Cog and Matty shared much stronger opinions that were in stark contrast to Colin's comments in Sacred Symbols 272. This episode was not a debate. Matty and Cog, to a lesser extent in my view, were timid and subdued compared to DD142. I love DD, my second favorite gaming podcast, but which Matty/Cog are the real Matty/Cog? Or are they afraid they can't defend against or debate against Colin?

DDTJOESTAR

I think the Dukes just keep it cordial with Colin on the crossovers. Cog and Matty have pushback here, but Colin like mentioned in DD142, isn’t the target of their counterpoints when they discuss “monopoly bros” because Colin still identifies positives with GamePass as a consumer would. No need to come at him as if he’s one of the internet soldiers.

Video uploading problems Dust? Last min madman! Colin has already ousted you last week lol

Adam

Wow, this was a really disappointing episode. Colin just took control, and didn't really let go. I feel like he's framing discussion from a bias position. Normally he's a great host but this left me wanting.

Like I asked on YouTube: what this you all expect from a conversation on this? It is clear by now that the discussion about Game Pass cannot be based on logical arguments, facts, financial data. After what we knew from past generations of Xbox. What we learned during the FTC vs MS trial. What we learned from the leaks. If that is not enough to convince someone that even though both companies are focused on generating money, one does it by "monetizing passion for games" while the other by "taking over yet another sector of global economics which happens to be gaming, and they don't really give a shit what happens to it" - nothing will.
