Gather ye round, for it's time for us to unleash some of our most controversial opinions on an unsuspecting citizenry. The Sacred Boys gather with 15 'hot takes' in tow -- five each -- to mystify, astonish, and amuse even the most entrenched and loyal of PlayStation fans. (Hell, you'll probably agree with a lot of them yourself.) From The Order: 1886, Returnal, Horizon, and The Last of Us, to Vita, PS3, PSVR2, and Sony itself, we have a whole lot to say, good and bad, about any number of PlayStation-related topics. The only question, then, is if you'll give us a kind pass or a firm stand down. The choice is yours.

Colin described what Prototype was like to play to Dustin made me genuinely laugh out loud. This is an awesome episode, just like the real Olympics let's get Hot Take Olympics happening every so often, maybe once a year.

Awesome episode! During regular sacred symbols you all tend to not “argue” to keep the pace of the show which is understandable. It’s awesome and really funny to hear you all throwing shade and pushing back!

I think horizon is super soulless. The colors are tacky, the Native American aesthetic is cringey, and it feels like an Ubisoft game. Way too much filler to be considered a top tier game

Damn right The Order: 1886 was awesome. I’d prefer games to be this length. It was lean with no unnecessary padding. These days I prefer to finish a game and move on instead of being stuck in the same world for too long. The game has a really tight story, good gameplay, awesome characters, writing, acting, etc. Would be a damn shame to never see Galahad’s story and the world he lives in fully realized. I’ll be forever pining for a sequel.

I'm glad Volition shut down. For the last decade they've been releasing games with a single online-only achievement that then became unavailable due to server closure. Worse, they've shutdown services to their games without prior notice and have kept selling then afterwards (see Agents of Mayham). Their customer support has been even worse, as users pleas have never elicited any response. Hopefully, all those unresponsible for the cruel customer support , or surprise server closures find jobs elsewhere. Those who partook -knowingly- in bad achievement writing, or supported the surprise shutdowns should lose their jobs and never work on video games again.

I only played The Order 1886 once many years ago and I enjoyed it a lot. The frame rate controversy for the game I remember being something talked about for quite a while. Despite that, the story and characters were engaging enough that I wish they would some day make a proper sequel. Lots of solid lore and a great premise that unfortunately won't ever be taken advantage of.

This is by far the best SS+ I've heard in a while. Not to say the others haven't been good, but this shit was super entertaining. Opinions and discussions like this that can be extended past the usual podcast limits is fun.

The Vita failed because there wasn’t a trigger button and no bt controller support, Colin insist on the memory card, that wasn’t the major problem, I have the unlocked vita now and guess what? it supports controller now…. it wasn’t hard to understand. Btw I have two vitas and a vita tv.
