Mapping Out the Rest of 2023 | Sacred Symbols+, Episode 323

There are less than five months left in the year, but the new releases keep stacking up! Starting in September, the fall releases are upon us, and it's going to be a busy time. We thought it would be fun to go over the remaining months of the year, highlight the games we're most excited about, and share our must-plays. We have a trio of sequels: Spider-Man 2, Helldivers 2, and Alan Wake 2, but there are some smaller titles that are absolutely worth taking a look at as well. Enjoy!

Hey Colin, I just beat Quantum Break last week and it still holds up well and is a great game! Make sure to either download the dlc which is the TV episodes or watch them on YouTube because the game is no longer able to stream the TV episodes.

Alan Wake 2 is so damn exciting. It's always been one of my favorite games and I never expected the story to continue. October is the perfect release time it's going to be so special for fans ❤️

Exercise bikes are great for what they offer, but if it's not ending up getting used enough it might be worth it to get a regular bicycle. Unlike the exercise bike, once you leave the house you don't have the nagging feeling to quit as much. You can just pick a direction and ride for half the time you want to be out and then head back. It's so much more fun to actually move!

Remedy is one of the best Devs out there. Max Payne 1 and 2 were both excellent. I remember getting Max Payne on PC the day it came out. Knowing that Remedy made Control for 30 million in only 3 years its just insane. That is Larian level polish and quality. Sam Lake is honestly on Kojima's level at this point. He puts his influences so prominently and masterfully in his games.

Need to add lost odyssey to your 360 list if you never played it.

Dustin you're right about working out getting exponentially harder with age, and you're smart to start now before it starts catching up to you. I'm only a few years older than you, but starting around 31 the wheels really start to fall off. Especially with a job / lifestyle that has you sitting down for most of the day (I do it too) your body gets so used to goblin mode that it's easier to hurt yourself when you lift weights. Stick with it man! You'll feel great when you get back from Japan after all that walking. Try to keep that momentum and make us all proud.

Dustin!! Did I hear correctly? Are you a fellow Sept 7th birthday?

Quantum Break is criminally underrated. Remedy is among the most consistently great devs out there and I’m glad to see people waking up to that fact.

Neither here nor there but I was surprised to hear Colin wasn’t a big Max Payne fan. I love all 3 for different reasons, it’s a great, linear game series.

The end of the Second one is one of my favorite endings in a video game ever. The dialogue, cutscene, music all just meshes perfectly for me.

Dustin, long shot but I’ve been living in Japan for the last five years with my wife and son, actually in the same city as Tokyo Game Show. If you’ll be around this area and want to go eat some ramen or sushi during your visit please feel free to reach out 👍👍
