Heartbreak, Ice Cream, Life/Work Balance | Constellation, Episode 31

This week, we present to you a Constellation with only a trio of participants: Colin (but no Dagan, who's on vacation with his family), joined by The Washington Post's Gene Park and LSM coordinator and shopkeep Micah Watson. Gene brings a heavy topic to the show this week in the form of heartbreak. What's our history when it comes to the dramatic and traumatic ends-of-relationships? Meanwhile, Micah strives to balance the scale with something much more lighthearted: Ice cream. Which flavor is best, and in which form? What toppings speak to us? Who makes the best ice cream, period? Not surprisingly, there's much to say. Finally, Colin wants to confront an ever-present issue confounding people around the world: A striking lack of life-work balance. As he continues to seek it more in his everyday life, he asks how others find the middle-ground, and work to live instead of live to work.

Constellation is the place for general political topics! It's so fun. I love hearing different viewpoints because it reinforces or challenges my own. Sacred Symbols only includes politics when it intersects with games, so go there for that content. LSM is killin it as usual.

Micah has become such a natural at podcasting. Love when she's on constellation!

Was surprised to hear the cosmic crisp shout out from Micah, I went to that college and still live in Washington. Cosmic crisps are my favorite apples, but I didn't know they made it all the way across the nation.

We also used the grapefruit spoons for Luigi’s Italian ice. Friendly’s is still GOAT and I always assumed Carvel was LI only. I’ll hang up and listen.

Shout out to Friendly's who ruined my Monster Mash Sundae and childhood dreams. I always wanted one when I was child but I was too afraid to ask my mother. So I finally bought one in my twenties, and the reese's cup ears were all wrong and mishandled. All my hopes and dreams, melted into obscurity. Anyway, good episode.
