Hey Dukes, what do you guys think will have to happen for GamePass to make its way onto PlayStation? It’s a pretty broad question, I’m aware, but generally what do you guys think has to happen? FTC clearing the deal? Sony abandoning their exclusives? Have a “I was going to make fun of the Mets but the Yankees suck as well” kind of day

Greetings Dukes, I’ve been a fan of Matty and Colin for quite some time but I’m a more recent Last Stand listener and I have to say you guys pushed me over the edge to become a patron. I’m more of a Playstation guy but I love how you guys approach topics and the chemistry you have. Even on topics I know nothing about you guys still manage to keep it interesting. I wanted to comment on Persona 3 from the last episode. I just started getting into the series with Portable after the news of the remake and Matty was not joking about difficulty. I’m loving the game but normal is so punishing at times. Going for the platinum after my first play through and you better believe I’m going back on easy. Just wanted to pop in and comment. Heya dukes, Baldurs Gate 3 just recently got its date moved up from August the 31st to August the 3rd and it got me thinking could this year be one of if not the best for the RPG genre? Can’t remember a year where it feels like there’s been this many high quality RPG’s We’ve had Hogwarts Legacy, Octopath Traveler 2, Trails Into Reverie (western release), FF16, Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion and probably many more I’m forgetting. I’m curious to know if it isn’t this year what year do you guys consider the best year for RPG’s ? Thanks for your thoughts guys and have a bird shit in my mouth somehow while I was walking kinda day.

Dukes! Starfield is fast approaching and I am wondering if you have an idea of what your first "build" will be? For me I am torn between space cowboy or space ninja. Obviously we can do multiple playthroughs but the first run of a Bethesda game is always special, so what character will you be playing? Thanks for the great content as always and have a great day!

Hey boys, I apologize if this is a bit late, but I’m a little behind on my LSM shows. In episode 129 you had speculated on the length of Starfield and compared it to the length of Skyrim on HowLongToBeat.Com (35 hours). I wanted to write in to say that this is actually too high. It’s no secret that Bethesda games always have a rich world with an abundance of side content, I wanted to share my stats from my most recent play through; For just story, with no side quests or grinding, or additional leveling at all, it only took me about 10 hours to defeat Alduin and finish the main quest. I was only level 10, hadn’t been to most of the major cities, and never learned anything that I didn’t need for the story. This isn’t my intuitive way to play the game, and I feel like I didn’t get to experience 99% of the game in that play through, even though I “beat the game”. Thoughts? Best, James S

Hey Dukes! I'm not much of an xbox gamer, but I've dabbled with gamepass on pc. Discovered a bunch of incredible smaller games, such as Somerville, Tunic, Dreamscaper, and especially Ori and the will of the Wisps. What are some Indie/AA Gems that you think everyone should try out. Always looking for the next hidden gem, I'd love to hear your recommendations. Hello there you crispy critters, With Mundfish recently revealing Atomic Heart's first DLC is dropping August 2nd, will either of you be checking it out? I know Matty wasn't the biggest fan of the game but I think there are a lot of people hyped for this expansion. I'll echo his thoughts about the cringeworthy MC and poorly designed open world, but that absolutely BANGER soundtrack and decent gunplay is enough to convince me to jump back in. Hey Catty and Mog, Question specifically for Cog today but of course Matty’s input is appreciated. As someone invested in the VR space, how do you feel about Microsoft closing their VR team instead of stepping into the ring with Sony, Meta, and Valve. Would it even make sense for them to try in that market? And lastly, how have you been feeling about the PSVR2. I have one and it is pretty great but I just wish I could play Skyrim on the damn thing. Thanks, and have a “Forgot to quicksave before pickpocketing” kind of day!

Good Day Gentlemen, I swapped to Xbox from PlayStation as my main gaming platform mostly because of Game Pass. As a new dad gaming time is only a few hours here and there. With Game pass I’m able to jump in see if I like a game or play a bite size game that’s been on the backlog for a while without spending much. What games do y’all recommend that aren’t going to consume my whole life like Starfield will in a few months?

My dudes, believe me when I say I'm pumped for Starfield. However, red flags have arisen in the last week. Could I get your opinions on these? 1. It seems AMD is not only paying for FSR to get branding/implementation in the game, but they a blocking Nvidia's DLSS as an option. Any attempts to get confirmation on this have been met with silence or vague statements from AMD/Microsoft. 2. Per a story published by IGN, attempts from disabled gamers to get confirmation of Starfield's accessibility options have been met with silence. This info is necessary for these people to consider a preorder. 3. Is it strange that we are less than two months from release and nobody's gone hands-on, other than a singular, one hour, IGN preview? Popular modders have already promised fixes for the first two problems if need be, but are we really already at the point where we're talking about modders putting features into Bethesda games at launch? Where have I seen this situation before?

Hello fresh Dukes, What would you consider to be the most transcendent games you have witnessed in your lifetimes? By transcendent, I'm not talking about great games, I'm talking about games that go way beyond the gaming sphere itself. Titles like GTA5, Pokemon GO, Flappy Bird and Fortnite. We've had a few zeitgeist games like Elden Ring in the past few years, but they were all contained to the gaming sphere. I feel like the last truly transcendent game was Among us, and that was a hot minute ago.

Hey, gentlemen. Apologies if you've addressed this before, but have either of you played Final Fantasy XIV to completion? It's a massive undertaking - the length of five games, actually - but it stands as one of the best narrative experiences I've ever had in video games; certainly the best entry in the Final Fantasy franchise, even with XVI's strong presence. If you haven't, then do you have any interest? Thanks!

Yo Cog and Matt, on the most recent ep of sacred the boys talked about games getting to be way to long. Now there's news of bauldrs gate 3 being as long as the entire Mass Effect trilogy combined! I know Cog doesn't seem to care about game length with destiny going on close to a decade. But I ask anyways, what's yalls thoughts on game length these days . With peace and love, David

Star Dukes, as I listen, I hear the hype in both of you for Starfield. I will suggest to Matty specifically, DO NOT REVIEW STARFIELD. Stand down and enjoy it as a reward for yourself. You work hard enough as it is. When a game that you really want comes out, a review could sully the experience. Immerse yourself, smell the flowers. Bask in the joy of why you love videogames. Also a spoilercast may not be the right approach immediately. Everyone will have a different journey by design. I suggest a campfire story approach. You and others can share unique moments in your adventures. This can extend the conversation in fun ways. This game will automatically get coverage by all types of content creators. Free yourself of that obligation for this one game, it will pay off. Have a, I can pose with Microsoft executives without being comprised type of day. Salute to Cog.

Yo what is up dukes I was listening to last weeks episode and heard the “Spotify pick of the week” comment and thought it was a dope idea so I’m gonna give you guys two recommendations. AEW’s own Brody king has a hardcore band called “Gods hate” and it’s pretty good. Then the game Risk of Rain 2 has a phenomenal soundtrack and it’s just a great game. Have either of you played it or heard of it? Anyways have a “beefy” week gents.

Hello dukes, it’s your fav Seahawks fan, i have a correction, last week matty said, they should remake ac3 but they remastered it back in 2019. I just wanted let cog now about ac project hexe which sees long veteran Darby writer of revelations and black flag return and it’s not an rpg, and we had a leak recently that seems to point it to be more like ghost and a mix of traditional rpg. More back to the roots than mirage. Thanks for your time guys.

Hey Dukes Loved the conversation around love interests in video games. Thought Matty’s explanation really struck me when talking about Kotor. Romancing Bastilla was the first time I really encountered this in a game. If you do it properly her story from spoiled princess that you tease relentlessly, to her fall because of pride and her redemption due to love is so good. The only other one that I really enjoy is Panam in Cyberpunk, the closest anyone has come to dethroning my video game bae Bastilla

Hey Double M and Triple C With steam summer sale I grabbed Midnight Suns, and now I understand why half my twitter timeline is Cog talking with people about it. The combat is FIRE, and the Dialog is hilarious. 40 hours flew by for me. Matty please play it and give us a spoiler cast. Thanks as always for the fantastic show.

Good day Dukes, During the Xbox Showcase, Microsoft revealed the upcoming release of the Xbox Series S Carbon Edition. Focusing on a less powerful version still after 2 and a half years into this generation, what is Microsoft’s strategy here? This seems to support the idea that Xbox is ready to go all in on streaming and cloud services over the actual physical console itself. Just curious of your thoughts on where Xbox is heading in the next few years and have a “bring back the black and white buttons” kind of day!

Morning Dukes. Matty, a year or two ago I tried Jade Empire after you and maybe ACG kept talking it up. It booted up fine on PC game pass, but I only gave it about 45 minutes. There was something about hand-to-hand combat just didn't feel right, it seemed like I needed to be closer to enemies than I though I should, and when I got close enough it felt clostrophobic. I don't remember if I checked to see if I could widen the FOV or zoom out the camera a bit, but those would have helped. PS, I probably won't be backing any more Kickstarters after Sea of Stars took the game pass bag, but I get that it makes sense for the developer and at least they're offering refunds. Good day Dukes, The court has denied the FTC's injunction request and the path is clear for Xbox and Activison to close their deal (notwithstanding the UK CMA appeal which is pending). It's been a heated year and a half in the games industry, with emotions and tensions running high amongst the gaming community and Sony/Xbox execs. What do you all think Xbox does now, if anything, to move on from the drama of this deal?

Hey Dukes, I have a question that I feel has not been fully addressed by Xbox and was wondering if you had any thoughts. I primarily play on PlayStation, but I do own a series X and PC. I am wondering what you think will happen with Spyro and Crash. These game are the perfect definition of a heritage on PlayStation. Will they continue on the PlayStation brand as well? I have collected Spyro merch and PlayStation copies of every game, and playing it on Xbox just wouldn’t feel right. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Hey Dukes (Last name is ‘Nix’) Here’s a fun question. Tuesday morning, Mike Ybarra said, in no uncertain terms, “This is not happening” when asked about Diablo 4 on GamePass. Later that same day, the injunction FTC sought was denied and the UK decided to mutually work it out with Microsoft over the deal, all but confirming the deal will happen. So, is Mike going to have to eat his words a little bit? Because I highly doubt that we won’t see all the Diablo games on GamePass soon. Thanks and have a hopefully Microsoft understands what I actually meant of day.

Sup Dukes With the ABK deal looking like a sure thing. What do you think Xbox will do with the World of Warcraft subscription? Will they roll it into game pass? Will they force current WOW subscribers to pay more? Or do you think they will keep it the same since it is guaranteed revenue. I love WOW but in my older age I cant justify the monthly subscription with much less time to play it. So having it included with Game Pass is very enticing.

Hello dukes, it’s oficial Xbox won the cases, but that’s not my main problem, my problem is some people in the community acting as Xbox is the second coming of Jesus and PlayStation is the devil, I personally find this train of thought confusing ,as if it was Sony that dictated how the industry work? He listens to Punching Up and has heard of Collin so he knew the other 3 hosts, and then asked who the 4th was. I told him “dude that’s Lord Cognito”. Hey dukes with the deal looking to go through what would you do if you were sony and Nintendo? I think Nintendo will be fine but after using Gamepass for a a few years now buying games at full price definitely has a bit of a sting to it... and if its an EA title ill happily wait a year for it to come to Ultimate instead of buying it full price.

With the stream from hell by Larian studio for Baldur's Gate 3 showcasing a lot of what the game has to offer from: stunning graphics , to in depth character creation , great rpg mechanics, AAA cinematics, awesome combat and steamy romances( looking at you Cog), etc. I want to ask you both¿ Do you think a new challenger has emerged in BG3 for GOTY contender? One little thing that i found kind of funny during this FTC/mircosoft fiasco is that Sony said they wouldn't share next gen info with activision if it goes through. . So is Sony technically "holding the generation back" 🤣🤣

Hey Dukes! I really feel like Xbox's support for a backward compatible library was a real win for the brand against the other competitors consoles. It bummed me out personally that they said they weren't going to support that side of Xbox anymore. Do you two feel like they should continue development on 360/original xbox game emulation? Maybe they could keep a small skeleton team within to continue adding titles there? Or do you guys feel this might be a waste of time, and that xbox should continue to focus on other future areas of the brand? Just, have a great day! No gimmicks! :-)

Hello vault dweller Matty and BEEFY Cog! Alright the deal is done. ABK/Microsoft has been approved in the US. Now that it’s over, what games are you dying to come back or see sequels to? For me any new transformers game. After hearing Cog talk about how great some of the 360 games I started watching gameplay videos and damnit now I want a new transformers game. Hello Cogmeato and Jedi Matty, With the discourse on FF16, I have to wonder if Xbox users even want Square Enix games. A majority of the negative criticism towards FF16 has come from Xbox-focused content creators and with Xbox owners getting fed well with Atlus, SEGA and other JRPG makers, can it be argued that there isn't demand for Square Enix games on Xbox? As the Scared Crew pointed out a few times, they could've abandoned the platform simply because of a lack of sales not justifying the cost of making the Xbox port.
