Creating a publisher requires connections galore, an eye for talent, and many millions of dollars ready for investment. Sadly, none of us meet those requirements. But what we do have is a podcast where we can pretend and play make believe to our hearts' content. The casts of Sacred Symbols and Defining Duke join for another episode of Sacred x Duke, this time with a mission: Craft custom publishers made out of any 10 game developers currently in existence. It's time for you to meet Saving Grace, The Cognition, Stand Down Productions, Wild!, and Brookhaven Labs, the five newest mega-publishers on the scene. Which has the most promise? Well, we'll leave that determination entirely up to you.

Edit: We had a Premiere export bug with a small snippet without audio. New version is up now if you delete and re-download. Sorry for the hassle!

Colin I don't even think you understand what a good pick Creative Business Unit 3 is, Yoshi P is probably the best producer in the business. They have the best writers and translators in games,, just look at metacitic for XIV expansions. XIV gets a big patch every four months, without fail, they don't miss ever. They are a well oiled machine that will make you money without a doubt.

Chris nailed Matty by bringing up 343. 1 of the best LSM moments ever.

Monterey Jack

Dustin absolutely killed it

Dylon Tucker

This is the most overwelmingly entertaining episode I have heard in a long time! The entire cast gasping or humming like an approving dad everytime there is a great pick was legendary.

Paul McFerron

Definitely need more of this.

It hurts my soul whenever Larian gets overlooked as a developer. I genuinely think they make the best RPGs in the business. Did you ever play Divinity, Colin? Baldur's Gate 3 is coming out this year too on ps5. If you're hankering for a tactical rpg with a great story, should be incredible.

Damn, this was a great episode fellas. Love the fantasy draft setup with the 5 of you.

John

This was such a fun idea for an episode. Chris’s early Supergiant pickup was clutch, they’re such masters of their style of game. Can’t wait for Hades 2

Josh Correa

No love for Sucker Punch Productions??? 😢

Aswad Charles

This is such a great episode. Loved it.

Chris had the best list, Matty’s list made me throw up in my mouth

Half way through and no one has taken Nintendo epd? Or any Nintendo developer? Are they just off limits for this?

ZombiesNJ

Best crossover episode so far!

Context Should Matter

I really enjoyed this episode. Saving Grace please buy WB and cancelled all Batman games and have them work on an open city TMNT game with awesome Arkham fighting.

I have no idea how Nintendo EPD went unclaimed so long. Colin's team is a juggernaut because he has 2 huge quality teams in Naughty Dog and Nintendo EP, while also having a team for most genres. I really loved the idea for this podcast, good job fellas!

Brannon H

I was about to do the same as well and then they were taken

Daidoji Reiji

I agree, insane how long it took N-EPD to get picked. Easy top 10, at first I thought I had missed a rule saying they could not be picked lol

Ladder Ape

Creative assembly and Blizzard were completely overlooked! Total war, alien isolation, halo wars 2 and then overwatch, warcraft, StarCraft and diablo.

Micah should check out Omnicron Gaming on Youtube. He's a lot like Ego Raptor.

Hey, I loved Far Cry1 and 3, too, but the last few games haven't been the best in terms of controls, at all - FC4 and FC5 had weird floaty aiming with aim acceleration that you can't turn off(at least on PS4). As someone that plays without any form of auto-aim I found it hard to hit enemies, cause I'd be constantly overshooting, or not going far enough. Headshots were almost out of the question. FC5 on PS4 had some annoying FPP cutscenes, too, since it moved the camera on its own, and combined with frame-rate issues it was a one-way ticket to vomit town for me. I've seen on forums that I wasn't the only one, too. Thankfully the PS5 version, that probably ran off PS4 pro codebase, ran at a solid 60fps, so it might be that it's not an issue for most players, anymore. I really hated the tacked-on DoA MP modes, that made it impossible to platinum these games a few months after release(since there was no one to play with - at least in my region). Here's hoping that FC6, which I haven't played yet, dropped it altogether.
