Konami sure knows how to make someone wait. After literally years of rumors and build-up, the long-dormant Japanese publisher spilled the beans about its plans for Silent Hill, its once-popular survival horror series. It turns out three games are coming -- a new entry, a remake, and something smaller -- and, well, the choice of devs has some people puzzled. Bloober Team and Neobards Entertainment aren't exactly household names befitting a proper revival. Or perhaps that's the point? We discuss. Plus: We give you the very first details about the plotline of Quantic Dream's Star Wars: Eclipse, DualSense Edge gets both a date and price, Bungie is apparently planning a major comeback of its '90s FPS franchise Marathon, and more. We then end, as always, with listener inquiries. Could Sony begin 'Kickstarting' the development of riskier titles? Do we have a problem with cliffhanger endings? At a rumored 10-to-12 hours, is The Callisto Protocol too short? And just what is it with the Europeans, anyway?

I do my best to stay out of the political sphere of LSM because god is it unreliable but every once in a while I’ll come across a gem like Colin’s breakdown about Sessler 🤣 someone’s salty…

Ronnell Leon DuBose

And then the total 180 with the beyonetta actress “are we really letting politics cloud our judgment” like yes Colin, some people constantly think about politics because it affects them much more than it does you. He doesn’t get this in current episodes even but he’s closer to the correct opinion I’d say. It’s just funny to go back and listen to it

The Gotham Knights dev blamed the Series S for the reason that the Ps5 version runs at 30fps. He should explain to everyone then how Madden runs at 120fps on Series S and 60fps on Ps5. Or how Cyberpunk runs at 60fps on Series S. The fact is, Gotham Knights needed more time for optimisation. Series S is less powerful than Ps5 but its no slouch and there's no excuse for 30fps only.

CM straight spittin fire!

Mark Whittington

Didn't that turn out to be a Rocksteady Dev mouthing off rather than a WB Montréal Dev.

Unfortunately Adam wasn't the only one having a meltdown and saying stupid shit from G4. Melonie Mac got attacked for tweeting out something nice about the closing and someone else who worked at G4 for no other reason than they don't agree with her beliefs and politics and basically told her they don't need her sympathy in a very mean way

Have to disagree with the person with the question about game length. 10-20 hours is the sweet spot for the majority of games in my opinion. I like to experience lots of games throughout the year - only games that I'm okay with being longer are JRPGs but I really don't enjoy most open world games these days. Agree with the guys - length does not determine price, quality of the game is much more important than length.

Barcades are great! Weve got a cool one in East TN called Token. We also have a "space bar" that feels like the Star Wars Mos Eisley cantina. I was that sweaty DDR kid at the mall growing up...now I'm that drunk DDR man at the barcade 🤓

As a fan of overwatch and it's sequel I'm disappointed by the "hate" you show to it. There's probably a large number of listeners who are fans of this game who would love to hear a SS+ episode from an overwatch pro or enthusiast. Thank you for reading and have a good day

Josh Lucas

The cliffhanger of the secret ending in Days Gone made me so excited for the sequel and now it may never get one so that’s a real bummer lol

LastStandMedia

I like my games at all different campaign lengths, but a 10-20 hour linear game is something I'd play once a month if new ones continuously came out and were good.

Napoleon in Rags

The Medium is a great game (playing through it now) and they seem perfect to take on Silent Hill

Don’t understand why Chris wouldn’t just play “A Plague Tale: Requiem” on PC where it runs at over 60fps. It’s on Gamepass too so depriving himself of playing the game makes no sense if he’s been looking forward to it. On the topic of Hellena Taylor, her IMDB page indicates that she hasn’t worked on anything in about eight years. That’s no excuse to undercut someone but maybe Platinum offered her a low wage so she could decline and they could hire the more popular and talented Jennifer Hale. Just a theory. As for Hideki blocking people, he’s not the only one. Cliffy B blocked me for complimenting him and his team on images he revealed for their new game. I was being genuinely nice to the guy. Funny thing is that game turned out to be “Lawbreakers”. My point is that the industry is full of assholes. Do we stop playing their games or forgive the artists for their eccentricities and just enjoy their games. Mel Gibson has done stupid shit but we’re not going to stop watching his movies. That said, Sessler can go fuck himself and has no place in games. His twitter comment is bizarre as hell. Peace.

I apologize for not typically reading the comments so if this is a repeat kindly disregard. In regards to merch, are there any plans for a S.S. "baseball cap"?

Napoleon in Rags

Its definitely is worth a play through (free with Extra)…it does some unique and interesting things that make it pretty memorable

Greg Hommel

The Dual Sense doesn’t hurt my hands. 30fps games don’t make me nauseous either. I guess I’m just tough.
