10 Songs That Remind Us When... | KnockBack: The Retro and Nostalgia Podcast Episode 203

We love music, and we don't focus on it enough here on KnockBack. We're endeavoring to change that, starting now. Music is tied up so intimately with nostalgia that it barely merits further explanation. Yet, for all of us, songs and time, songs and people, songs and a moment or an event, these are the connections we simply cannot escape. Here are 10 songs we love that also remind us of happiness or pain from times gone. Indeed, they may represent the only tangible connection we have to some of the topics we discuss. Dagan’s story is so relatable with terminology and the interaction with the pizza person. I get annoyed at similar seemingly little things.

Walker Simmons

Got hyped when I saw the thumbnail Tears for Fears is my favorite 👍

Listening while I’m working, does anyone have the full list of songs?

Hose A Contra Razz

The instrumental section in the album version of Shout is incredible on Songs from the Big Chair!

I never added Head automatically on my spotify when I ditched my iPod a few years back, so that you for reminding me they exist, Colin! Anyone looking to give them a chance I suggest, "beating hearts baby", "the razor", and "I shot William H. Macy." All from the album "Decadence" which I would have sworn was called "Tokyo Decadence"

Blake Wall

If you enjoy Devo have you heard their album "Something for Everybody" it's a bit weird because it came out in 2010 but it's surprisingly very good

Coheed and Cambria, I actually enjoy a lot of their music, but I never really got to the point of being a "fan". I just bought 3 of their albums and threw them in my rotation. Bad Religion: Epiphany is another one that's been in my rotation for ages, but I really only ever had that one album from them. That's a really good song though. I've been a Tears for Fears fan since the early 90's. I've trimmed my social media down significantly as well, it's mostly just discord and fediverse now.
