Konami's Many Possibilities | Sacred Symbols+ Episode 133

Over in Japan, Konami is holding a tantalizing contest: Developers can choose from select Konami IP and pitch the publisher on new projects, with potential funding waiting for them on the other side. This raises tantalizing possibilities for the dormant Japanese powerhouse, since they happen to own some of gaming's most beloved licenses, and today's + is dedicated to the what-ifs. Joining me (Colin!) is Ains Bowden, founder and EIC of Seasoned Gaming and a very experienced old-school gamer, just like yours truly. Together, we go through seven games Konami can revive, along with what those games may look like, and -- perhaps most interestingly -- who may make them. Hi CLS crew, Some episodes have really low sound volume, this is one of those. Not sure if it's just me or everyone else is experiencing it. Just wanted to inform you. Great work btw, Cheers.

Great episode! When thinking about Castlevania, I can't help but think of what is probably my favorite metroidvania I've played in years - Blasphemous. The Game Kitchen is a small Spanish developer that has shown that they can create beautiful environments married to engaging combat and gameplay. I think they could potentially tackle a new 2d Castlevania game. Just a thought. Thanks again for all the great content!

Awesome episode Colin, Ains! I wonder what the contracts will look like once Konami selects their candidates. Fascinating stuff fellas!

I just couldn't get into it that first time I played it, and never went back. I really ought to.
