For Americans, the year 1776 is sacred. It isn't the year the American Revolution started (that's 1775), nor is it the year it ended in victory (that's 1783). Instead, '76 represents the year the US declared its independence from England, changing the course of domestic and global history alike forever. The 2000 film The Patriot -- starring Mel Gibson and the late, great Heath Ledger -- is one of the few flicks that actually delves into the War For Independence in any substantive way, and while it's an action flick first, and while it takes sometimes great liberties (pardon the pun) with history, it's still a fun, enjoyable movie that The Brothers Moriarty happen to cherish. So aim small, miss small... and enjoy the podcast while you do. (Topic begins at 0:55:56.)

Yes! I threw this out there months ago as a hopeful idea and jacked to see it come to fruition! Time to learn WTF bundling bags are. Aim small, miss small!

Forrest Hunter

This just dropped on Netflix a few days ago and I've been meaning to watch it with my son. They're never too young to introduce them to graphic violence perpetrated by Mel Gibson in a historical context.

Max Stahl

This is probably after your time, but I recall being shown in school this animated series called "Liberty's Kids". It had this intro that was unjustifiably epic at the time and a duet sung by Aaron Carter and some other girl. Ah, the benefits of growing up in the Midwest. I wonder if they're even showing kids such things, nowadays.

Douglas Morreale

Ah, another show/movie I've never seen. 😐

AIM SMALL, MISS SMALL! So hyped for this episode. It does me good to see it.

I've always wanted to watch this movie, but never have. Now I have the perfect excuse. Looking forward to this episode.

Captain Canada

Oh my god yes, this will be a great episode

Marco Maluf

I wish I had a older brother like Dagan. 💙

I know at least 9 lieutenants, 5 captains, 3 majors, and one very fat colonel who called me a cheeky fellow, who will love this episode.

Jack Doheny

gonna watch it tonight and listen straight away i was only 1 when this came out lol

Tanner Brant

I just watched this last night lol

Jake Woods

A couple notes 1. No mention of Tom Brady as the best modern sports player is a travesty 2. No mention of Lady Gaga as best modern musician is an abortion of justice 3. No mention of Kojima as best games creator is truly an eye watering gut punch. Get your shit together colin JK love your shows and your takes on everything keep it up ol buddy. Also, keep it up if you know what I'm saying ;P

Alec

Yesss been waiting for this.

Ryan Murdoch

Col, my wife and I brought the first house we looked at, our logic was...its a fucking house, there is no need to go crazy stressing about it. Good luck buddy, you will do fine.

Warped

Awesome! I use to watch this movie so much. Anything American History is so interesting.

Ryan Murdoch

I hope you guys can do more NES/SNES at some stage, its a bit much to expect Dagan to play all these huge PS4 games.

One of my absolute favorite movies! Although there are a ton of sad parts in this movie, the first time the daughter speaks just destroys me 😭

LastStandMedia

I think that's what made Dagan wanna do it now. (We were gonna do Far Cry 3, but he wasn't ready yet.)

LastStandMedia

It wasn't! Though it'll be awesome when, in several years, we do a topic we've already done just because we totally forgot.

Caleb Greer

I’ll say about Joe Rogan: I don’t believe he does the show live anymore because I think he has a strike on YouTube or something.

Quinn

Shout out to Logan Lerman. He's the youngest Martin son of Percy Jackso/Perks of Being a Wallflower Fame. But, my favorite movie of his is Fury with Brad Pitt where he plays the newest member of the Sherman tank crew.

Omar Rosa

We definitely need a Howard Stern episode. You could probably do multiple episodes on him and his show.

Billy boob

Bunch of no good traitors the lot of you.

Marcus Brown

I put this film aside for months after buying it in anticipation for this inevitable episode. Just watched it a few days ago and damn was that a great film. Now I'm hyped to hit play on this.

Joey Finelli

been waiting for this one. I cant be the only one who enjoyed this movie more than braveheart?

Me: Sees a Knockback Podcast Episode on my backlog for "The Patriot" Also Me: RENTS the Patriot on Vudu to prepare myself Me Again: Listens to Podcast Colin @11:10: ...just went on Netflix, so you don't have to buy or rent (the movie) 😬

Nate McKinney

Just watched the Bluray "MR MARTIN!" is still in the movie. Can confirm.

LastStandMedia

If you use PS4 to stream stuff, their universal search tool under Video/TV, where you pick your streaming app, is really useful. It searches everything and shows you where you can find stuff on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc., so you don't accidentally buy stuff you don't need.

Dee Han

Of all the talented people industry, you choose Neil Druckmann? You’re losing sight of what makes games games Colin. Also, you’re forgetting that The Last of Us also had Bruce Straley as co-director.

LastStandMedia

First of all, you're talking to me like I don't personally know both men. I do. Secondly, I'm entitled to my own opinions. Thanks.

YaBoyStevieJay

Haven’t listened yet. What exactly do they talk about for 55 mins before they start talking about The Patriot?
