It's bittersweet. I'll miss Fireside Chats as one of my weekly must-listen podcasts but I completely understand why you need to sunset it. My favorite episode was the one with Mason about growing up in Iraq and coming to the US. Can't wait to see what's next in store for CLS. ❤️

Russell Garrett

This show has been staple of my Wednesday evening drive home for almost two years now. I understand your reasons - totally. I don't blame you in the slightest. That said, this show was the everyman's Rogan and I learnt so much from it. I'll miss it dearly. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I've been here since day one, I'll be here until the day this ends. Big love. <3

Was one of my favorite shows. Thank you for giving it to us. F

Can't wait for the lets plays! Always looking forward to the next CLS podcast :D

Tyler

Been a pleasure to of sat by the fire and listen to the chats

Brian Berghuis

This podcast was truly something special. Sad to see it go but looking forward to what's next.

Marius Skarsem Pedersen

Very sad to see the show end. The best part was that the show could be about anything. And it was always interesting, regardless of if the topic was something I was already interested in or not. I still have a few episodes in the backlog, and that feels good. Thanks for all the great fireside chats. PS. Having Clements on would have been a perfect way to end the show, the old fireside chats with the two of you were always so great! But he is a busy, and quite handsome man.

TheBufferPiece

Breaking my heart with the end. This show will be missed, but I get why you felt the need to stop it. On to new things though, and I'm sure whatever comes next will be great too!

Johnny Waffles

It was an honor to be on and to be welcomed into your home. And thank you for not letting me drink harsh Santa Monica tap water. That was probably the most gentlemanly thing you could have done.

This was a great little sendoff to a great show. Glad I was able to enjoy it over the years and even have a small chat by the fire with you myself. Thank you Colin <3

Michal Dudic

Something poetic about fireside chats ending just as you are finally leaving california

MrMilk

It was an absolute pleasure to work my way through the Fireside Chats catalogue. You're willingness to entertain essentially any topic made it such a fresh experience every week. I'm thankful we got as far as we did. Colin, thank you for Fireside Chats.

Evan Bederman

I don't comment much here, but I just want to express how sorry I am to see this show go. I've followed your work for a long time, Colin, and I think Fireside Chats contains some of your best work ever. I don't say this to make you feel guilty or bad about ending it, I just want to thank you for giving us such a special, unique, and evergreen show like this. I'll continue recommending it to people because these episodes really will always be worth hearing, and I understand why it had to end. I look forward to your new content and will be happy to keep supporting you. Good luck on the move, and know that we've always got your back.

Rob Aitken

and that's the way it was. Fare thee well Fireside Chats

Great way to say goodbye to an original piece of CLS. I’m sure you must be amazed at just what CLS has become Colin. I look at it and am amazed at the amount of terrific content you give us each week. Proud to be a patron. Sincere thanks for all you give us Colin.

Jason Bolla

Thanks for this lovely series. So many new chapters for you. Best wishes.

Thank you so much for this eclectic series of phenomenal podcasts, Colin. This has been a wild ride and it's hard to see it go, but hopefully now we're onto better Horizons. Keep striving forward Mr. Pride of Long Island. Farewell Fireside Chats <3

Joshua Gallegos

Going to mine the depths of this series for years to come. Thank you for this fantastic catalog of humanity, Colin!

Thank you for the show, and thanks for having me! I had a blast chatting about music with you. Stoked for the future of CLS.

Chad Lewis

Thank you everyone for supporting and thank you Colin for making stories and dreams like mine come true.

Sad day :( Thanks for the all the great content that you put forward on this show. I will miss it. I'm still a proud patreon supporter.

Awesome show, awesome man, awesome prospectives. Proud of you.

BettyAnn Moriarty

I loved the Fireside chats - all of them. So interesting to hear about people and their lives. Maybe it will come back, bud...if and when you feel that the timing is right. Looking forward to what’s next too, of course. ❤️

Martin

Fantastic show from start to finish, I have maybe half to go back and catch up on so it will carry on for me for a while yet :)

Nathan Favreau

Great show! Will miss it! Can’t wait to hear what’s next.

Will Hahn

It is ironic how this show is ending right as you move to Virginia! It’s rare to see candor and honesty in this type of medium nowadays, and this show was the perfect example of that. Sad to see it go, but can’t wait to see what’s in store for CLS next year! Long live the CLS brand!

Andrew

Good job Colin !

Ian (616Entertainment)

Thank you for Fireside Chats, Colin. I remember the first episode, it was you on your own, it was fairly short, and it was extremely interesting. The show quickly flourished and became a full on podcast and I was elated. I enjoyed your political content (watched every episode) and jumped on as a Patron on day one (still here!), but your voice in the podcast format was sorely missing. Fireside Chats was the first step into the land that has now birthed Knockback and Sacred Symbols, and for that alone, it'll always be legendary. If it comes back someday, I'll listen. If it doesn't, hey, what a hell of a run, right? You really did something special by bringing on the common person rather than leaning only on celebrities. Traffic went down, sure, but that's why people only call celebrities for their shows. They're worried more about traffic than the heart of what they're making, and obviously that wasn't your goal. You made something special over these last few years, and I think we're all glad you did. Onward and upward. =) PS that simple little thumbnail for this episode is fantastic. Captures it perfectly.

strawhatninja

Sad to see this go but totally understandable. I never got to come out and share what we emailed about before but if the opportunity ever presents itself to meet or talk to you in person I would love to do that.

Jordan

Colin, I think it was poorly articulated at the time, but having the opportunity to be on an episode of fireside chats stands like a high rock in the ocean of my life. It was a great honor to sit across from you and talk tattoos. I had always sort of hoped that some day we could reconvene after my body suit is finished and find out if I've lost my purpose in life or if I felt like the journey was worth it. Whether or not that ever happens, I'm truly thankful for the experience and for all the hours and hours of interesting content and stories you have helped spread to your listeners! Good luck in Virginia, and I hope I'm not the first or last person to say, welcome back to the East coast. The best coast.

brody_low

Love you colin! So happy to see you make the move to be near family. That means so much to them. Random question are you planning on finally getting a car and license since you wont be in such an urban area anymore?

Anonymous

sad to see it go, thanks for the episodes, Colin!

Jose Horrach

Thank you for allowing me to be a guest on your show. This truly was a treasure and I look forward to the future. Cheers.

Sorry to see this show go. It's definitely made an impact in my life and the lives of others. Love what you do Colin and will be there to support you and CLS every step of the way!

Kevin Sullivan

I'm sorry that the show is coming to an end as it was an enjoyable part of my weekly rotation. Fortunately you've still got two killer shows I thoroughly enjoy. Best of luck with the move. Don't eat so much at Thanksgiving that you have to buy two plane tickets back to LA.

tejotl

Colin this is an important part of what CLS is so I'd wish at least that you consider remote recording etc. All the best mate

tejotl

One last thing - when you say 'thank you' I do believe you mean it and it means something. Thank you.

Lou & Rei Loper

I am very reluctant to listen to this one yet I can't wait to listen to the final chapter. This is my unquestionable favorite from all of the great goods we get here at CLS, but I look forward to the future wide eyed and hopeful that somehow it will be eclipsed by another. I won't hear the episode until tomorrow (gotta save it for when I know I'll hear every minute uninterrupted), but I wanted to let my voice be heard before then. Thanks again, looking forward to what's to come. 🙂👍

Alan Ortega-Lopez

Thank you and looking forward to what comes next👍

Trent Miller

I am sad to see this go but I understand why. I loved the idea of this show as a whole. Thanks Colin for all the hours of great content.

Jordan Avery

Thanks for all the great content and good luck in Virginia!

Lucas Gremista

Quick unrelated question: how is Lola feeling the move?

Hugo's Desk

I am very sad to see this show end, it was amazing. Hope you don’t mind me asking Colin, now that you know remote recording is possible, could this show ever return on that format? That could also open up to have overseas guests. Just wondering if it will ever return. I sure hope so! Thanks for everything

JD

I don't know if Colin will interview random people remotely. The reasons why Sacred Symbols work remotely with excellent audio quality is because both Chris and Colin have professional mic setups with pop filters and they use a specific software that reduces latency and Dustin combines both their individual audio files during the editing process which results in a podcast that does not seem at all that it was recorded remotely. So you can see why Colin might be hesitant to do continue FC remotely.

Fireside chats has been an amazing ride. All I can really say is thank you, and thanks to everyone who shared their stories. If it ever comes back I’ll be sure to bring some gas for the fire!

Bryan Finck

As one who was lucky enough to be a guest on Fireside Chats, it will always hold a place in my heart. But I'm glad Colin is doing what is best for his safety and well-being, and he is following the numbers as well. I am excited to see what comes next!

Tony Bertucci

Thanks Colin. Gonna miss this show.

Chris B

Thanks to you and all the guests. This was an insightful podcast to listen to during my commute. It will missed.

Sam Dunham

Is there a TL:DR for what happened to cause Fireside Chat's cancellation?

Jose Horrach

Too many violent threats and crazy leftists doxxing undeserving people. Had go stop to protect his family.

Ivan Hornett

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Anonymous

On to bigger and better things. Thanks Colin.

Michael Steinmetz

Thanks for letting me come on and have a good chat. I appreciate all you do, and keep up the good work!

Anonymous

Thanks for making one of my favourite podcasts. I'm sad to see it go.

Joseph Ady

I'm excited to see what you do next! I'll keep my interview podast going and will always be thinking of you as a main influence!

Karan D

Would it be possible for the show to somehow continue remotely?

Vladislav

Sad to see it go, but excited for what comes next for you!

Kyle Harper

I am very sad to see the show go. I loved how you would talk to every day people rather than famous celebrities that we have already heard from multiple times. There are millions of people out there who aren’t famous but do such cool things. I will miss the show but I can’t wait to see what happens next with CLS. Thank you for all the hard work you did on the show!
