From 2010 through 2013, IGN was victimized by the single most unprofessional bout of nonsense directed toward it by the publisher Konami. The drama surrounded Konami’s and MercurySteam’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow trilogy, beginning with IGN having the audacity to call the original game “good,” and ending with the temporary blacklisting of the entire site, and… well… me! Thank you. I honestly didn't work with them very much at IGN. This was one of those extended periods of time, though, and they were incredibly petty and unprofessional.

I gave Konami a day and a half and Mercury Steam and Dave Cox nearly a day to respond. Not even to respond to actual questions or inquiries; merely to say they wanted to comment. If any had responded, I would have delayed the video to include their input. But I've still not heard from any of the parties.

I thoroughly enjoyed LoS2 despite it's obvious shortcomings. I just really loved the combat and story enough to push through. I even enjoyed the crappy 3DS game, but neither of them hold a candle to the first
