Hello my patrons! The next video on the main channel (Dec 31) will be the "Guide to making disks" video that I released here a few weeks ago. This Amiga 500 video will be the first video of 2023, set to release Jan 7. It was quite a journey I took with this Amiga, one that I didn't really expect.

As you can see by the title, things worked out, but not for the reasons I expected.

Happy new year everyone, and thank you for the all the support!

This broken Amiga 500 seemed to "fix itself" while I was trying to work on it. I've had this happen a few times in the past, but it baffles me every time. Any chance that the JP2 jumper was originally not connected at all, even before you used the desoldering braid? That's what it looks like to me (~32:13 in the video). Wonder if that ex. created a conflict of sorts, resulting in no Chip RAM being mapped at all?

Back in the day, I did that very same chip-mem mod to my "Rock Lobster" A500 in order for it to use the 2 MB MaxiMem expansion card I had bought (giving it 1MB chip and 1.5 MB slow). - And I can tell you, that JP2 jumper is only one half of that mod. You will also need to take a peek at the JP7A jumper as well, my friend 😉 Adrian, this is just so weird for me, being like 10 steps ahead of you at every turn while watching one of your videos. Because I am usually the one struggling to keep up.
