“Let’s see…” I poked my head through the bushes and looked around. When I saw nothing scary I began looking for some kind form of food. Luckily my eyes were thousands of times better than were in my previous life. I could see the smallest of things in great detail. The pond actually had quite a few fish in it so I planned to try to weave a net from some bark or thick leaves. There were even vines that were in abundance, so I will probably settle on those. It depends on how strong they were.
I found out that I was pretty strong. I can crush a stone in my paws easily. I had to make sure I had some kind of advantage before entering the forest. On top of it all, in order to not lose my way, I am making a path as well. My claws can cut things up quite nicely. This is coming in handy, and I have been able to keep decent track of where I have been by clawing trees as well as the ground. Claws are quite handy.
I had been exploring for about an hour now when something caught my eye. “Hmmm? Fruit?” I tilted my head to the side as I looked at the eggplant looking thing. You would think I would call it an eggplant, but it was giving off a sweet smell. I am not sure if it is poisonous or not, but I should at least give it a try after I feed it to something like a fish. If the fish dies, then it is not for me.
I stuck a bunch of the fruits from the bush into a straw basket I made just a few minutes ago. Well, calling a basket is a little, umm… far from what it truly is. More of just a bunch of long thin blades of grass that I tied together in a sort of mesh. Luckily I am about as tall as a ten year old when I stand on my hind legs. So I was pretty tall. This was a good thing since these fruits were high up.
After filling my basket, I finished gathering a few more things and looked for some thick branches. I wanted to take a break and start a fire. My plan was to make a net with the vines and then set it up on the shore with some rocks holding it in place. Then, I would go take a dip on the other side of the pond and scare the fish towards the net. With some sticks and more vines, I planned to make another smaller net. This way, I could have a bunch of captured fish but still keep them alive and well for when I wanted to eat them.
“This should be good! Heave! Ho!” I yelled out as I began dragging all the things I had acquired with me. For a first-time trip into the forest, I think I did alright. I got a lot of everything I need. As for wood, to make my new home better, I will have to wait until I fill my belly. It has been growling for a while now.
When I got back to camp, I went right to work trying to implement my ideas. Thank you, animes, for all your years of teaching me the way of survival. Now if I could just do a few Kamehameha, I would be satisfied. I have no idea what kind of world I was on. For all I know, it could be a world that was nothing but jungle and filled with dragon lizard things like myself. Although I have yet o even see anything but fish and bugs.
“Done!” My makeshift net was finished. And it was rather strong too. I did give it the whole pulling test to see if it would break easily or not, but it seemed to work just fine. I went over to the rocky side of the pond and tied the net to the rocks before tossing it in the water. The top part was also tied to some rocks so it would bow in the water and catch anything that might enter it.
Luckily I did not need to wait long before getting my first fish. While I was hungry, I had to test my fruit. So I quickly put together the handheld net and snagged the fresh fish from the water. The smaller net was harder to make. But thanks to my claws, it was still much simpler than my old selfs, who was all thumbs.
“Not to cut this open…” I thought for a moment before sharpening a rock and slicking a bit of the fruit off, and wow, does it smell good. I mean, it smelt out of this world. While it seemed to be intoxicating, I still did not dare take a bite. I gently pinched the sliver of fruit and pushed it into a fishes mouth. Once it swallowed it I held the fish in the water so it could breathe and waited. And waited. But nothing happened. No, something did happen. The stupid fish seemed to have gotten bigger and stronger! It was like it ate some kind of gomu gomu fruit.
“This thing won’t make me fat like the fish, right?” I asked myself with pursed lips. I might not have cared about what people thought of me and did not shower every day since I was always sitting in front of the computer, but…. I still kept my body in decent shape, and I did not want my dragon lizard thing booty to get any bigger than it is now!
