TDGA) Making A New Den... Home Part 2 (Unedited) (Patreon)

My first impression was it was very cave-like, like very cave-like. It had rocky walls, ceiling, and floor. It was slightly damp but cool. However, it did come with its own dim lighting from the glowing mushrooms and rocks that littered the walls and floor. You could say it was definitely a fixer-upper.
“I wonder if I can call for a home designer and get the place renovated…” I, of course, knew this was impossible, but just the thought of it was enough to make me want to take a nap. Sadly this was not something I could do before actually checking the place out.
The cave ran pretty deep. But for the most part, it was well lit. I did not see anything out of place or any kind of monsters around. Although there were some insects, I found that they did not even come near me. It makes me wonder if I stink. But I haven’t smelt anything bad as of yet, though. I did sniff myself, and I smelt… Earthy… Maybe because my skin was mainly scaled, the insects decided it was no point in trying to bite me. If so… Yay! I hated insects, especially during the summer. Luckily before I was hit by airplane-kun my room had an air conditioner, so I was always in hoodie weather. Hoodies are the best. I wonder if they make hoodies for dragon lizard things….
Now that I think about it. I wonder if my mother even noticed I was gone. I was staying with her before I died. I had only just graduated as well. Sigh… I actually did not even need to finish high school. I could have just stayed home and made money. I was pulling in ten thousand a month by sixteen years old. And I was only streaming in my off time. A few hours a day. You could say my channel was filled with simps.
“Seems like it’s empty.” The cave was as big as some ten billion dollar mansion, and there were only bugs in sight. This meant my new den-home was going to be styling once I was done.
But now was the tricky part. I had to figure out how to build things with claws….. This means I will need to also go into the forest. I couldn’t help but slump to the ground. The world was unfair. Why was it making a shut-in work so much? I just wanted to stream braincraft and boblox.
Alright, I guess sitting here wallowing in my own despair will get me nowhere. I decided to get to work. My first job was to clear out all the enemies of dragon lizard thing’s kind! Never let the enemy into your home! This is rule number one when you are at war.
This task took a while. The space was big, and the enemies were numerous, so by the time I was done, a large pile had formed under the waterfall. Even with night setting in, the dim glow inside the cave and the area around the pond still allowed me to see things quite clearly. But because of how slippery the rocks by the waterfall were, I did not dare venture out. It would need to wait until I made a proper bridge. Whether or not I can make one, I will have to see. But I have found that I am able to use my front paws with ease, allowing me to do things easily as if I was a human, which was a relief.
I also found that while I do get hungry that I do not seem to need to use the bathroom at all. As for hunger… well… I am not sure what I can and can not eat, so I am basically stuck on that front. But a single night of no food is no big deal. I used to stream for hours on end, so going without for a day will not hurt me any. In the end, I found a pretty dry spot not too far from the cave entrance, where I laid down and curled up into a ball. It was a spot where I could hide behind a stone pillar that rose up into the ceiling. After such a long day and doing so much manual labor, I slowly drifted off to sleep….
I was awakened by drops of water dripping on my face. I had thought the area I was in was a dry spot, but it seems to not be the case. I slowly got up and looked around to make sure it was not some kind of monster or something. Luckily this was not the case.
“At least it is light out. I slept pretty well for sleeping on the hard cold ground.” Letting out a yawn and rubbing my eyes, I made my way to the entrance of the cave and stuck my face under the area where the water was only dribbling down. After washing it clean, I made my way to the shore and looked up at the sky.
“It’s as clear as it was yesterday. I will drink some water, do my business and then try to find some food. For some reason, I am really craving meat….” I scratched my head. I had never had such cravings before. I wonder if this comes with being a dragon lizard thing. Either way, whether it was leaves on a tree or some kind of rat, I just needed to secure food. One can not be picky when they are hungry. However, I am not sure if I should trust any of the fruits and whatnot. I have no idea what is editable and what is not. Maybe I can just find some bugs… “I will leave bugs as a last resort. Let’s see what other animals are eating first….”
