The 2 things I can’t stop thinking about are: the misconception of the small ball lineups we had and it’s time to talk about how important Mike brown was to this team. Our small ball consisted of 6’7 guys that could defend. We had length even if we were playing small than the norm, not a bunch of sub 6’2 guards. I don’t want to completely blame Kerr because the reality is this the core is old, the egos are still there as if they’re all in their prime, and kerr is in a tough spot to make change happen… But then again this guy is still out here giving out minutes to Corey Joseph over kuminga and moody. You can see why Bob Myers left, he knew this ship was sinking

There are some interesting generational shifts happening in the NBA this season, the rise of very young teams like the Pacers and Magic in the east, Wolves, Thunder, Kings, even the Rockets in the West. It may not last through the season but one can feel the shifting of power. The Dubs took the league by storm when Kerr took over MJ's group and instilled the wing dominant switching and the heavy dose of three ball, now its the foundational playbook all over the league, and we haven't found the recipe for rejuvenating the lineup the way we did in the late "teens" . Alch as usual you are absolutely right about this season being a test of how well Kerr can adapt, or is he ultimately too set in his ways? The other issue is that Father time may not be able to diminish 30's skillset, but the body can only muster so much superheroism before it needs sufficient recovery time on the injury list. We saw it last season and there's a good chance we'll see even more this year if we cant make the team transition. Klay definitely is looking bit by Father time and it can be painful to watch his "old guy at the gym" attitude when things go south. But Wiggs? I have always been frustrated by how soft he is mentally. You can see his team mates constantly trying to pump him up, but without fail he shrinks under the spotlight. He'll get in shape and be an ok third or forth option but he will always lack the killer instinct we will need to win the big games with him on the floor. It will be another interesting ride this year. Ride or die regardless.

Young teams looking very feisty this year. You need a wise leader. Halliburton. SGA. Hell even Fox in sac. Never saw it for Memphis…

We still have to remember that it IS early in the season. Kerr has always given people a chance to see what they can do, and he experiments with lineups. I don't really know why Corey Joseph was even picked up, but now that he's here, he should at least be played a little to see how it goes. That said, I'm running out of patience with not playing Moody and TJD more -- they've performed whenever they've been out there so it makes no sense to me.
