Derek Livley II scouting report

Unrelated to the video. I got a couple of trade scenarios that may be worth considering for the dubs. Specifically, because I don't think this version can compete with the Nuggets. First: Poole for Valanciunas and Klay (and maybe this years pick) for Anfernee Simmons. or Second: Poole for Tobias Harris and maybe Klay for Fultz and Suggs. Finally: Poole for Caruso and Patrick Williams.

I don’t think Klay is going anywhere. Although the Portland thing makes a ton of sense. JP I’m not sure his value rn… I imagine Orlando likes both their guards more.

This draft is just that good.. I’ll be surprised if he goes top 15.. Another prospect the Warriors are looking at is Coleman Hawkins.. Decent defender, excellent passer, can shoot the 3 and has a great feel for the game. If Livley gets drafted before 19 we should take a wing that can do a bit of everything.. Dariq Whitehead may be a steal at 19 considering his foot injuries.. He was never healthy this season and still did a decent job.. Rayan Rupert, Bilal Coulibaly, Brice Sensabaugh, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Jaime Jacquez Jr, GG Jackson, and Sidy Cissoko can be good wings for us as well.

Oh and Coleman Hawkins may likely be undrafted so we can pick him up on a two way

Thoughts on Lively not working out for the dubs anymore? You think it’s because he thinks he’ll go higher? Or he doesn’t want to end up like kuminga moody and wiseman and stuck on the bench forever

athleticalchemy

nah I think its a lottery play.. these guys climbing are going to create the optics they are going higher and higher

Crazy how we use to have willies goofy ass on our team 🤣

Jimmy Ji

How does he compare with Evan Mobley on the defensive end?

athleticalchemy

I think Mobley moves better, he’s a little more athletic and fluid. But yeah very similar… not sure why I didn’t think of him

Jimmy Ji

When I was watching this video, that was who I immediately thought of. Mobley is pretty much the cream of crop when it comes to big men with the ability to defend in space. The only problem with Mobley was he played alongside another soft big in Allen and they got DOMINATED by Mitchell Robinson & Julius Randle in the playoffs. As long as we retain Draymond, I guess that won't be a problem.

The work rate is alarming to me. Bigs with inconsistent motors are just stay aways imo. Per 40 - 10 pts 10 reb... I mean that's what you'd expect outta a guy half a foot shorter with far less tools. I like to use Precious Achuiwa as my generic solid but unspectacular good work rate big prospect he has around 20 pts and 14 reb and 2.5 blk w Memphis. I'm selling on the "Curse of the Warriors center selection" alone. I get the upside. This draft is so wing heavy why would you search for a water in the desert... the center spot is dried up this year. To me James Nnaji is so much more impressive than Lively to my eye. But I'm wrong more than I'm right. Honestly Filipowski was the big that looked like a Warriors player. Maybe we're overhyped on the first rim protector since Bogut and Javalle. I dunno. We'll probably pick Lively or Murray seem to be the tea leaves.

athleticalchemy

I’m take a look at Nnaji.. but I was just bout say they played he and Flip together. Pushing him out of the paint for context to that work rate. But yeah I didn’t love the rebounding

Finals breakdowns!!!

Yah bro, like this kid a lot. Feels like a perfect fit if we can get him

Anonymous

You've sold me Alch, trading to get a higher pick might be one of the moves to make.

Anonymous

He cancelled his draft workout with the Warriors today. Makes me think he has a promise above our pick. Unfortunately don't think he'll be there at 19.

Anonymous

would love this guy but he'll get picked earlier than us. His shot is going to improve a lot as well.

Anonymous

Warriors def need to go higher to get this kid. I really like him as a prospect

Anonymous

Coleman Hawkins is returning to school, he took his name out of the draft I think.

Anonymous

Do you think you'll do a Coulibaly breakdown?

Anonymous

Damn that’s crazy just found the article on google.. welp

Anonymous

he looks more comfortable on defense than on offense, not that common among these top prospects, potentially getting another Looney with Wiseman's build?

athleticalchemy

Idk.. I just heard today he is climbing into the top 10! I feel like I should look at a sleeper or two first. Or guys projected in the 20s

Connor H

Literally polar opposite of wise. The timing on his screens and vertical spacing ooooooeeee. No way he falls to us though

Ryan Mitchell

Love the video Alch - thanks 🙏🏻 ‼️

Vulacior

If he somehow falls obviously grab him, but I don't think we can trade up for him with Stephs timeline in mind.

athleticalchemy

Trading the pick for a vet is one thing But relative to all these other kids he can help in Stephs timeline.

Tristan vukcevic? Dude mentioned him on 95.7 thoughts?

Watching your video of the draft prospect was awesome but also sad. Knowing that the warriors have promising talent but because of the culture and egos, it would probably not work out to have the young guns and the core. Therefore I am kind of hoping that we get the right veteran guys to complete our roster to have a chance to win a championship. It sucks but it is probably the right decision. Having another season like the past one would be too tragic

100% need to move up to top 10 to get this kid
