Most of the full games I found were old live streams so you have to excuse some of the grainy footage.

leonard miller scouting report

athleticalchemy

I want to do Dereck Lively next but I feel like the way he is shooting in workouts he might go late lotto..yall still want a scouting report on him even if he is out of reach?

Anonymous

Will you do one on Trayce Jackson Davis? A lot of mocks sending him to the warriers and he did the workout last Friday. He seems to fit our style of play + 3 blocks per game is huge. And being 23 might mean Kerr will actually give him a shot and not send to Santa Cruz

Connor H

I been calling him diet Vanderbilt lmao. Wouldn’t be mad at seeing him slot in when dray or loondawg hit the bench

athleticalchemy

I’ve heard that comp.. I think he has much more offensive potential. I’d be excited if that was the pick. Rn I feel like both these first two I scouted gonna be off the board tho 😕 maybe as i go thru the rest they move down my board and and I feel differently

John

We need more of a stretch 4

Anonymous

He’s interesting but no shot the warriors draft another 19 year old. I’d much rather draft a guy that knows the game instead of drafting off potential. Makes me wonder where PBJ is on the depth chart next year if we draft a 4

athleticalchemy

I don’t think PBJ is going to change any roster decisions currently..I hear you tho, it doesn’t seem like a timetable fit. He seems like a okc pick and will all be jelly by January

Anonymous

ya its sad cause that jumper is great and if michael porter jr can become what he is, I feel like PBJ could guard at least to the level of MPJ (not good lol)

athleticalchemy

If he stays healthy next year even in a super limited role. I think they and we can get more excited about his future

Jello Smooth

It would also mean Someone sat Kerr down and told him play my fu$&in youngsters

Anonymous

Bros got the “Bombastic Side-eye” jumper lol

Connor H

Nah I think you’re right. Him and Murray definitely seem to be closer to lottery picks but I’d be hyped if either of them fell

Anonymous

Yes him and others in that 19 range Bilal Coulibaly, jett howard, gg jackson, maxwell lewis, kris murray

Anonymous

i think pbj should play the backup 3 if we dont get one in free agency, so miller or some sort of floor spacing center makes sense for that 4/5 position next to dray and loon. we just need someone that can shoot in the front court.

Anonymous

That jumper and bad footwork is giving me Paschanimal vibes

Anonymous

cancel animation badge big facts lol

Feel like the pick has to be a Colby Jones, Tracye Jackson-Davis, Khris Murray etc type guy. Otherwise I’d rather them just trade it. Lively would be a homerun

Kyelep

Really enjoyed your report and video! I'd love to hear your take on potential players the Warriors could get on veteran minimum contracts. Two players that come to mind are Yuta Watanabe and Thomas Bryant. Additionally, do you think it would be beneficial for the team to retain JaMychal Green if he expresses interest in staying?

Captain Rossco

I'm out on Miller. We got exposed last year for a lack of size and shot creators. He helps neither, plus with this coaching staff I don't see them picking raw prospects who just won't ever see the court.

I really appreciate these breakdowns Alch, being down here in Oz I can only follow the NBA from a relative distance so I have no chance of staying up to date with college ball and the G league. The size is tempting but I fail to see the point in drafting anyone but the most seasoned 3-4 year college player if the plan is to actually play and develop them. They didn't play the young guys last season so there would have to be a major shake up to think there is going to be minutes not just for the young players we already have but any that we will draft. Now if the plan is to draft in order to trade it that is a different question. then it's a matter of what other teams covet. Once again thanks for all your hard work.

Look at Clowney instead! Imo he's Looney with a developing 3pt shot. I think his ceiling will be a Bobby Portis

athleticalchemy

The temptation with Miller is system fit.. it could make him playable right away. His ability to be in the right spot at the right time and then Rebound

Anonymous

Hey Alch! What’s the difference between kuminga and this guy? Potential wise at draft day. Both started in the g league? His one year of experience? Both had it. Wanna know your thoughts

Ryan Mitchell

Favorite part of my day is watching these scout videos - love them! Was feeling the ‘Search & Rescue’ instrumental in the background 💪🏻😤

athleticalchemy

Kumingas physical gifts, not a lot of guys are going to touch his potential. Miller on paper seems the same, he is a very different player. What does Kerr keep stressing about Kuminga? This kid is a natural rebounded and I think a better basketball player.. certainly not a better athlete, certainly not the "it factor" JKU has but a player that fits how the Warriors like to play

Ejikeme Uzoigwe

Alc (and anyone else with a strong opinion): historically, what do you think has the better track record - drafting for fit or drafting for the best on the board? I know it depends on a bunch of factors, but curious if anyone has general thoughts.

Neal X

So you could see them letting JKU go as part of a package with Poole or Draymond and getting this guy on the cheap to help with our budget issues?

athleticalchemy

Yeah he’s much more of a Kerr type of player. That said I don’t think they are looking to get rid of kuminga, but he is their best asset.

ChizzyTheKid

Also Al you should be covering the finals game by game. ik you're a Warriors fan but you're very smart and have unique perspectives so pls cover the finals while you're doing this. it could be like a 7-10 min rant

warriors drafted moses over cam thomas🤯

joss gitlin

I've always prefered drafting for fit. Not only positional fit, but culture fit too—like how the heat, grizzlies and raptors always seem to get these gritty players. It's much easier to squeeze out potential from a player who feels like they belong

Jello Smooth

If Moses got to play you might not think this was such a bad thing. If it were up to me I’d relieve the budget issue by packaging Killah … let Moses start.

John Pettus

Is he not doing them on the Big Game Tier of the Patreon? I guess not if he's making scouting videos!

The more I think about it the less intrigued I am with drafting upside bigs. They just never seem to develop for us and at this point it's not bad luck. Our system and FO isn't a place where a young big man can come in and learn right away. Most need to play to learn. Drafting Miller or Lively will lead to the same result imo. 3 sub par years in and out of the g league and eventually feeling as if something isn't right with the development. Kerr won't play them early much if at all. I think it's a better route to just draft with versatile wings in mind and trading or signing big depth. We have had much better luck with the Zaza, Bought and Javale's of the world.

athleticalchemy

I feel you.. at the same time, I don’t think that would be the case with eith of those 2. We can’t be too traumatized from past picks in making decisions.

Anonymous

moses is not athletic. cam thomas on draft already was klay thompson level, i go on to declare he’s better than prime thompson.
