What happened to Russ pull up jumper from the free throw line? He used to sprint, stop on a dime and drill those.

It’s really suspicious how all of the sudden we are defending and throwing defensive schemes on other teams, how all of the sudden we are breaking the other teams a paint and now we resemble last years warriors. I think Kerr and staff were saving this for the post season, trying to get a 5 or 6 seed barely and all of the sudden sweep everyone’s off of their feet. But did not get the good start we did last year which has put us on a win all now mode. It has been here all along. Injuries and low seed forced him to show his hand early… teams have been playing 100 all season meanwhile we have been cruising…real warriors are in town. Now everyone is going to be on the lookout….

I'm starting to wonder if the return of Wiggs or Steph might actually derail the flow and the minutes folks are expecting in the rotation. OK, Steph coming back is never a problem but might Wiggs throw of DD or even Kuminga?

Hi Alch, what's your thoughts on JBJ vs CG?

Erin Laskey

Warriors have definitely tweaked their offense. They're deliberately attacking mismatches, hunting players in foul trouble, greenlight to iso. They're mixing up everything. Is this the Kerr hybrid system? Also, those LoonGoon two-handed dunks will one day bring down the glass if he added a 2cm verticality to the jump

Another draymond performance on the political side of ball. Loved the content thanks for keeping me entertained!

Anyone else notice Poole changed his shoes? Not wearing those kobe 6s or 8s. Not sure what they are though

We’ve been good playing from behind all season, but never were we good in front. Last night was classic warrior “frontrunning” as the talking heads call it. Maybe in the 30 for 30 we’ll find out all the details of this year.

Love that you ended with the reverse Alchemy curse. Nice! I have a question and a conspiracy. Question: What do you think really goes on at half-time? Now that we see the clear difference between the Drubs and the Warriors in the 3rd quarter, it's very hard to believe Kerr when he says he has no idea why the 3rd is so different. Conspiracy: Joe Lacob is a major stake holder in FitAid, and he padded Loon's contract with a massive endorsement contract. Could he do the same for Dante next year to get him to opt in?

Anonymous

We so desperately need Loon to be healthy. Let's keep him on the ground as much as possible. :-)

I think when it comes to Jordan playing alongside Steph and coming off the bench it comes down to Steph, I’m not saying Steph needs to completely defer to Jordan but as we know Poole seems to play better when he’s orchestrating the offense and has time to kinda slow roll into that rhythm while Steph and turn it on at a moments notice

Anonymous

I couldn’t tell you, it’s almost as if he’s been coached out of it

Anonymous

And that Iggy is actually perfectly healthy and well rested so he can hit the playoffs playing playing like he did before we traded him.

Neal X

"There was a playoff intensity" -- well, I *#($%&#(*$ hope so, at this point! This felt good, but there are going to be greater challenges -- beating a better team outside of Chase, for one. EDIT: it was nice to see Ty Lue's muppet face after blowing him out of the gym, felt like old times.

Apparently, the broadcast crew revealed that PBJ grew 2 inches since the draft and is 6' 11''. Now If he grows another inch and gets some rebounding habits (Or james wiseman's personal coach starts coaching him up) he might alleviate all the angst of the Wiseman experience. LOL

Anonymous

Alc, your thoughts on Nerlens Noel? Dunno how much more of JaMychal I can take. Dude is getting yanked after 3 minutes by Kerr. What's the pointanymore?

Anonymous

Maybe Kerr should try PBJ at the 5 to see if he can be a serviceable backup big before the playoffs roll around. If he ends up somewhat good at the 5 then no need for Walmart brand buyout bigs. Just sign Lamb or Jerome at that point.

k fish

Great breakdown as always alc. We are finally playing decent ball, i was worried first half when kuminga only got 10 min and lamb 11 lol Kerr has to realize how important jk is putting pressure on other teams on both sides and speeding the game up. Once we get everyone back ima need kuminga to get consistent run still....no overthinking and taking him out for "floor spacing" he was 3 of 4 for on threes. Let the kid grow into the superstar he will be

Anonymous

Added bonus of more PBJ time if he starts playing the 5 more since we are thin in that department. But Kerr's 5 star doghouse has a lot of rooms to accommodate rookies so I am not holding my breath. Maybe PBJ's basketball smarts might convince Kerr otherwise but who knows.

k fish

Easy answer but not sure we will see it....lamb gets no minutes, Wiggins doesn't play as much because honestly he doesn't bring what jk does consistently, cut back poole minutes as well, ty Jerome also shouldn't see the floor. When gp2 gets back that's when it gets real tough. Also no jmg

Russ

I've been going off on Poole for a while now. Last night like u pointed out he looked on a couple of possessions that he was trying. I don't mean going for steals, that's just him letting his man break down the defense and once in a while getting a glory moment. But his straight line no move speed is awesome, and he was at least trying on D some of the time. Don't be afraid to fail, all we want is the effort, that's what JK did, and look how valuable he has become.

Russ

And full props to Klay this last month plus, effing amazing. I marvel how Klay just picks a side of the defender to drive at and off he goes, he isn't quick, but his legs r so strong that he just drives like a Hockey player, then he can stop on a dime and score. It's such a level up from just 3 years ago when he would barely dribble. His drives r a bit like Kawhi's, it's all core strength and balance.

paul reboca sr

i'm not sure but i think you have said that you aren't too optimistic, but for reals alch, a big let down game tonight???? we on a roll, bucks are on a 16 game win streak.. why not us, we good

Jimmy Ji

This isn't the first time we've played well without Steph and Wiggins. We had a similar run during Christmas where we had our longest winning streak of the season (Memphis, Charlotte, Utah, Portland, ATL). We eventually ran out of gas while continuing to play younger and more athletic teams (Detroit, Orlando, etc.). I will say the defensive strategies are finally being implemented this time around by Kerr which leads me to believe this entire thing is scripted. What if I told you the NBA pre-determined when the Warriors were allowed to play like "the Warriors" and Steve Kerr was in on it? I know this sounds crazy with all the injuries but we are actually 11-9 in games without Steph AND Wiggins. We've had a worse record when the squad was full than when the team was missing Steph and Wiggins. That is wild to me.

Probably the first time this season where I go, "This looks like a championship team that's ready to defend their title." I was impressed with JP's game on both ends. Alc is right, he doesn't have to be a lockdown defender but its the always-in-stance mode, and being competitive on the that end of the floor and he showed that here. Real Warriors basketball is stingy defense making up for a 9-43 3-pt shooting night.

Anonymous

Funny I was just on Reddit yesterday saying half jokingly that Steph should hook Dante with a UA endorsement if he takes the pay cut to stay lol

Don’t mistake physicality for toughness 🔥

Warriors put that social distancing on Russ 💀

The letdown game – that WE ALL KNEW WAS ON ITS WAY – ended up being @LAL on Sunday. And of course it was…do we really need to get into *why* it couldn’t be avoided for the millionth time? (Hopefully not.)
