When is the last time you heard the term “Splash Brothers”? That no longer exists. Klay is killing us, shooting us out of games and poor defense. Charles Barkley was Right. He wasn’t trying to disrespect Klay. He was just being honest. And its the truth. Klay is in decline as well as Draymond. I would argue that Draymond knows he himself is in decline and that’s why he tried to put it out there for a max contract extension Before it became obvious. When it’s obvious, you don’t get that max extension. SO, 2 of the big three are in decline which justifies the youth movement. It’s just unfortunate that none of them are ready yet.

Two things are killing us, the bench and Klay's bad decisions. So I agree, why not kill two birds with one stone? Have Klay be the moderator and vet that's on the floor with the young guys. He can make good passes, and he still moves without the ball well enough to give a good outlet. Have him call out the defensive switches that he's no longer capable of handling.

Major Powers

I think Klay gets a whole season's-worth of games before he gets written off after an ACL and Achilles. He's played I believe 63 games since his return (41 regular season and 22 playoff games). I think he deserves roughly 20 more games to get right and to knock off the rust. Then I think it'll be fair to just start saying "this is the new Klay."

Wise needs to play on the G League - he cannot develop feel at the expense of The Big Three… I don’t know what to say about Klay -it might be the Iguadala/Harrison thing the team would benefit from Klay and Poole which it responsibilities…

Trade JaMichael Green, Wiseman and Kuminga for...whom? Fuck it, throw in Klay too. Who is the target?

I think Kerr, Steph and Iguodala need to sit down with Klay and encourage him to model himself after his boy Kevin Love. Love is a champion, sustained several injuries and took a backseat to the young guys for the betterment of the team—look at the Cavs now. That’s one of Klay’s best friends, so such advice should resonate. He needs a reality check. Nothing wrong with bringing vet leadership off the bench. Let Poole start alongside Steph. If anyone can manage such a thorny situation, it’s Kerr.

the regular season turned into playoff mode, that’s how much better the emerging talent is. there are too many holes and unforeseen backroom politics to get egos checked-jp starting over klay among other shit the roster needs major fixing. because curry can’t be shouldering all the responsibilities anymore, we have to preserve the chef if we plan to win anymore championships. and a chance against the cavs? did yall see what they did against the lakers and everybody else? and what about literally everybody else in western conference. again we need to think long term because this year ain’t it and everybody in the league sees the room more than us fans. the league team cohesion is much better now, we tank the next two years so we can catch up and rebuild. the dynasty is over

I've been feeling uneasy with Klay being out there in crunch time too. Cause he's gonna take some crazy leaning, fading, off balance 3 with 17 seconds left on the clock. I think they have to give him a little more time before they can have a real conversation with him though. It's not the first time Klay has had a rough start to the season. Klay's just pushing too hard to try to be who he was. And maybe he can be that guy again, but he's gotta take it slow and let it come to him. His sloppy fouls (especially late game) are just inexcusable for a vet of his caliber, though.

Klay will be fine, he aint balled in two years. He just rushing it. He wont be able to guard quicker guards from what i can see laterally, but still plays good defense when he tries. Once he gets his rhythm back and confidence, i see him returning to be our number scorer.

I'm curious why Klay is all of sudden deathly afraid of driving to the rim this season. His first points back last season were a dunk and now if he even starts a drive it is either a turnover or a fadeaway mid. His mental game is in the dumpster. It's like he convinced himself that last season didn't happen and this is his comeback and can't get image of himself getting hurt out of his head.

Julian

I have no idea why Klay is being treated like a princess. Has been making so many mistakes, but noone is calling him out on his shit. If he plays like last game, he shouldn't be out there closing.

Julian

Klay played like 60 games last season, this isn't last year.

Strong Foru

Steph shouldn't have to play that hard with all the talent on the team. It's unsustainable and unrealistic.

Natto Santo

I think Klay will get the message. Let’s see how he rolls next few games. I think the problem is Poole this game. Maybe he is digesting what you said. I believe Poole and Klay will figure out.

Jerry Heverly

Kerr was all in on this game after saying he would rework the lineups based on the Pelicans game. He chickened out on that. I hope that doesn’t mean he will try to ride the five vets to the playoffs — where they will surely have nothing left in the tank. This game solved nothing.  Jason Timpf had an interesting video today arguing for a trade of some of the young talent, and I’m beginning to agree with him.  But Kerr is paid to be patient when all around him are panicking. What if we are underestimating those young players?

AK

Loon above the rim? Bro gonna need a hip replacement for that. Great breakdown👌🏽

I think they should trade wiseman to the spurs for Jakob Poeltl and maybe Zach Collins as well or maybe they should angle a trade with the jazz both teams were tryna tank now they are playing too well

DOES A WISEMAN TRADE FOR JAKOB POELTL SEEM LIKE IT WOULD WORK

Ken Bradford

Why would the spurs say yes for a straight up trade. And poetl already stated he wants to test the market for more money rather than an extension. Wise plus a pick or other young guy for a one year rental seems not that great especially for poetl who’s good but not good enough imo

Hey Everyone, i am fairly new here. A few thoughts from this game and the start of the season generally. This team actually reminds me of the KD warriors in that we had very little veteran depth in those last few years when Livingston and Iggy were constantly injured. Lamb (lets leave his allegations aside) and Jerome look soooo much better than our lottery youth even though they are fairly because they have been out the league and have been forced to figure out their value add. They also both stay in front of their men defensively better than the kids and understand the motion offense better as . What we lost with Iggy Shawn and recently GP and Otto are veterans who know their roles and know what they are. high potential kids dont make good role players because they arent ready to put limits on their roles and focus on the little things. hope to see more Lamb and Jerome until JK Moody and Wise figure it out.

I am not as worried about Klay as everyone to be honest. This is who he has always been. BBall is a rhythm game and for a shooter who doesnt dribble a lot like Klay it will take time for him to find that rhythm after not having an off season coming off an injury. Unlike Steph who is in great shape Klay is trying to find game shape and rhythm during this early part of the season. Our problem is last year we had Poole to take up that scoring burden and this year he is also horribly off form so far. Even at a lesser version of himself Klay is still a net positive and come season end he will be closer to what we saw at the end of last season. putting him on the bench when Poole cant stay in front of a traffic cone will make the team worse and you might lose Klay mentally

JK + JWise (maybe one more filler or pick) TRADED FOR Kuzma + Hachimura Would you do it?

athleticalchemy

Welcome Wayne.. I agree Kerr has to play the guys dialed in and giving effort never mind their salary or draft status. Get back to the basics of team

athleticalchemy

Thats great point.. now that you say it, I cant think of a drive all the way to the basket this year

Anonymous

Could we get Kenyon Martin Jr could be a new GP or josh hart type that what we need.

athleticalchemy

Funny you say that I was thinking the same thing watching the Magic game the other night. He and Tate for JW makes sense for both sides.

Klay and Dray’s decline are the reasons why I want to lean more into the younger players one of them having a jordan poole year 2 leap to me is our road to a championship
