Klay's main value now is 3-pt shooting because he is not the defender he once was. Last night he was 1-7. As you observed, Klay is also pressing again. I too wish Kerr would have given Moody some of Klay's minutes. I also wish Kerr would have gone back to Wise in the 2nd half. We could have used his size and athleticism. I understand respecting the guys who got us here, but if Klay's playing well, we need to extend guys like Moody who are playing more effectively. Hate to admit, while I was very hard on Dray because of the Poole incident and too believe this is his last year, if I had to pick between he and Klay right now I'm picking Dray. Still wonder if we could convince Tor to trade us Siakim for Dray, JK, and a pick, or something like that. Problem solved.

We need to go get ourselves a skilled big man. Someone who's already figured out how to at least rebound and play the PnR properly. The struggle is so real with Wiseman right now.

Wonder if the loss of Mike brown adds to the defensive issues. He was the lead on the defensive side, wasn't he?

Chip Tingle

Sad thing is most of Dubs’ D mistakes are mental right now, including poor communication. This points to coaching, habits, and culture. Great as Dray is playing, is his voice dialed down right now?

Thanks for this video alch. I am trying to understand where the defense is breaking down. You are showing us the communications, the close outs, Klay's complete defense lack of focus...

Need to allow for Wiggins to have more opportunities to operate the offense.

Kuminga at the Warriors reminds me of Westbrook at the Lakers, super athletic guy who needs to make mistakes to get going in a team where there is no room for that.

This diatribe is about coaching and management. The apparent juxtaposition of Wiseman taken 2nd over all and Nick Richards taken low in the second round of the same draft are lost on most ardent warriors fans. We could a had Ball or Haliburton AND Nick, but we are still hanging with this unimpressive guy , who our big upside hope is , "please catch the ball" Any play involving Wiseman and Richards points out the discrepancy, the lack of maturity and relative lack of initiative of Wiseman. etc. To all those impressed with the Warriors management, tell me how good we really are if Curry is not on our team. We credit management, but only so long as Curry floats our boat. This will all take on another shade when Curry leaves and and somehow this "light years ahead" will be "the dark night of the soul" management. I mean Kuminga not Wagner, Ty Jerome not Mac McKlung. Ty is ok, but is that really why I tune in, to watch ?... OK? His job is not to screw up. Well he did that. So what. I really wonder if the Kerr would have mess up Luka's career had we got him in the draft. Not playing "warrior" ball. Luka Tragic.. 7 billion $$$ valuation for the Warriors. Damn right I could do better. Curry, Thompson and Green were all picks ok'd by J West .. thats all I'm sayin

John Pettus

He's not a natural #1. He's actually awesome as a #3 on offense, where he can just Swiss Army Knife on the other team's 3rd or 4th best defender.

Ezra Abbey

100% let him catch some passes in the post, I feel like we haven't seen much of that this year. last year he was feasting down there with that little hook floater of his. and maybe some action on the elbows as well

Ezra Abbey

Dray hasn't looked this good in years, at least that's exciting

This team probably won't ever get it fully together until the playoffs imo, you see it alot with dynasties in their twilight, meander through the season at a barely 50 win pace and then are a nightmare to deal with in the playoffs. This team just isn't hungry at all right now, to me thsts where the lack of communication and focus defensively comes from. But how could they be still hungry? They just won probably the most satisfying chip of them all.

Just bad defense...and Wiseman can't catch lob passes. We have no business losing to these teams.

Do you think missing the likes of Lee, GP2, JTA, who always play hard for their job hurting us? GP2 of course with his defense but it's more about the hustle. I feel like we don't have end of the bench doing everything possible for their job guy rn. If we still have a JTA rn, he would have played a lot this year just because he put in more effort than others. And I do feel like Kerr likes to use that kind of guy to motivate others as well

Who would you want in return if you traded Klay and Kuminga?

Anonymous

Why doesn't Klay work in the midrange. Draw some fouls

Anonymous

Sabonis, Barnes, Metu for Kuminga and Klay - works in the trade machine, riots in the bay

k fish

Washington wouldn't do much in kuminga spot playing under Kerr. Caught the L in Detroit too with starters lol Kerr is terrible and started this season with a terrible plan

k fish

You're a clown lol the hornets better without ball and wise is fine and the better prospect, not easy playing for kerr

athleticalchemy

No need to come up in here calling people clowns if you can’t respectfully give your takes bounce

Klay will be fine, he is coming off 2.5 years without playing and an emotional playoff run with the shortest break and no scrummaging in the summer. he will be fine by all star break as long as he stays fit. Our problem is how thin the squad that understand our scheme is. Donte was meant to provide that back court experience and be a lockdown or atleast decent point of attack defender. currently past wiggins and steph on nonmismatches our guys cant stay infront of ball handlers and the rotations arent fluid yet. Moody and Kuminga could get a lot of minutes if they could fill that parameter role but Kuminga is a liability offensively and Moody doesnt yet have the lateral speed to be a parameter lockdown guy. No doubt he will eventually be that but he isnt yet. It will be a rough regular season but health is all that matters

Bro I just realized I need my daughter watching your breakdowns. Your IQ is insane and levels beyond mine

Do you think the front office exercising the team options makes them more tradable? My guess is Moody is the only truly safe one of the three at this point. But if history tells us anything, the Warriors like to wait out their pics usually when the rest of us are ready to throw in the towel. An alternate universe is, what if we gave up on Steph when he was having ankle issues? I think the front office likes to move slowly and so far it has worked wonderfully.

Are the warriors the greatest super team/dynasty created through the draft and not trade/free agents?
