And I thought it couldn't get any worse than the Indiana game. They were just throwing the ball all over the place.. It was so frustrating to watch.

Anonymous

At least JTA only had 3 mins.

Anonymous

Great breakdown ! Hope this allows Chef to get his swagger back

Is Steph not the greatest example in sports history of how powerful the mind is? Not just his achievements vs expectations and doubts/not being an elite athlete, but when he slumps and then make it look stepherless all over again and again.

Anonymous

This entire game pissed me off, the amount of turnovers were disgusting. at one point the rockets had 30pts just from our turnovers. not even sure if I'm happy we won, but hey a Dubs a Dub

Anonymous

I like that J-Ku nickname

Anonymous

This is factual, I knew the slump he was in was all mental

Chip Tingle

Hold up…”DLee, clutch”….??? C’mon now.

We need more close games because in the playoffs there will be many close games which can be the difference if you move forward. It is easy to sit on the couch and bash bad plays when you see it but sometimes we need to trust in their abilities and never forget the team on the other side is a professional team that practices and plans just like us

Anonymous

Ooowee as much as I can’t stand lee sometimes and want mood minutes you just have to love his motor and and character hard to be mad at him. Juan and he who must not ne named real shitters

Chip Tingle

Ah, talking past seasons…got it. Thoughts on a Bismack type signing?

Mathews looks way more like the BFG than Jesse.

I think Steph’s shooting problems are directly related to his weight, the fatigue it causes him, and how his body has changed rather rapidly in the last year. One of stephs greatest strength is not only how fast he is, but how fast he is over the entire game. In CJ’s pod, he once mentioned that the hardest part about guarding steph and klay is how much they run. Obviously Steph is still running like crazy, but he doesn’t have that same speed he used to. He’s carrying more weight from muscle which is causing him to look more fatigued. His step backs and actions coming off screens seem slow. Furthermore, that one play where he was wide open before squaring up on his 3 goes to show that his legs are different cause that’s normally an automatic action for him. The dude has/had glass ankles and did specific conditioning to prevent additional injury. Given that and his obvious bulk now, he also changed his leg routine. I’d prefer he go back to his build last season where he had some additional strength without sacrificing all his speed. While he may not be able to hold it down defensively as well, he can still use his speed and mental acuity (since he won’t be so fucking tired all the time) to break up actions. Thanks as always for a great breakdown too!

Big win, we lose last night with Draymond out for a while and it would start to get scary. I've noticed something from Poole, he really can't get his 3 pt shot off without a screen or a mistake. Wigs is just big and u can't crowd him or he's gone, Klay has size and the quick release, Steph gets himself open with his handle, step back, and quick release, but Poole needs help, I think his midrange and ability to finish is where his real future is. A bit like Trae who shoots from farther out than u expect or he fakes the drive and stops. Poole's stop on a dime midrange shot, his floater and finish at the rim game will be his staple. I think he will be a good shooter from 3 it's just going to be harder for him to get open than the others with his low release.

I was bad mouthing Steph the whole game, dude shut me up pretty good there at the end

If you are going to have your cake and eat it too, then give Kuminga ALL the mins behind Drey. When Drey is out, start Kuminga. When Drey starts, Kuminga is next. If we aren't going to flip young talent into win now assets, we need to turn our young assets into win now talent. Experience is the only separator. Feed Kuminga and he will grow! Use JTA for what he is good at, intense short minutes to spark energy and give effort. I think it is clear at this point the Belly is the weak link. If Belly shot with confidence, I think he could be great for spot minutes for offensive punch, but dude manages to simultaneously act like he is the MVP and off the street at the same time. I think Moody fits our culture and play style, but if we are going to make a trade I think Moody is the expendable one, unless they are off JWise at this point. I bet they want to see that pick through a bit more given the flashes he gave us. Belly, Moody, JTA/DLee and a pick for a B+ quality big? I feel you on Looney, dude low key is durable as fuck given how he came into the league. Just still feel nervous having Looney and JWise be our promise land front court to get a chip down the stretch.

Did you notice how many passes they were forcing just to run plays? It's no wonder teams have us figured out on offense

Anonymous

Notice how, after steph washing up and got agressive, his disciple Poole and lee also flipped the switch.

Anonymous

Alc, please also upload the youtube link, in some part of the world streamable and vimeo link can't be opened, we need VPN to open these two. Your patrons from Indonesia here.

Anonymous

You may be right. There was a season in 2017 (?) when Steph started season bulked up and slumped. Then got injured, missed time, returned in regular shape and just killed.

Wrong channel, man.

you can still get the yt link because it is embedded in the patreon player. just hover over it and open the yt link in a new tab.

Wasn't Bismack Biyombo a FA, 10 day signing by PHX? I know he's tough to find a copy of, but....isn't he exactly what we need, especially into playoffs? It's tough not to be envious of all the bigs PHX has, and I'd say 4 outta 5 are mobile, switching P n R defenders.

Any official word on whether Mitchell is done with concussion protocol for our game? Pistons gave em a good run in Utah w/o him.

Anonymous

I see some pictures from Warriors group chat and every game I see blood running on the chef's skin... they are very physical with him and he does not complain as he should. I see some of our fellow Patreon members say it can be his body type is affecting his shooting since muscles get tired faster but I also think the scouting report is banged him up the Refs will allow it and he won't complain because he is a brand face (NBA Under armor and GSW ) he can't bitch like Harden, CP3 and others.

Steve and Steph need to understand what it takes to get Wiggins going. We all know who he is at this point. I'm guessing they've become too reliant on Draymond to light the fire under him each game, but in his absence they need to recognize it's up to them. Sure they don't have the motivational skills that Dray does (few do), but their failure to hold him accountable and/or run plays for him is really hurting us. Be leaders.

Sometimes it seems like the silly, silly stupid mistakes like fouling instead of defending, turnovers, (D Lee, Steph, JTA, Kuminga, BJELICA, et al) are just as contagious as when it goes the other positive way (everyone hitting 3s and it seems like they can't be stopped). It's a team sport so it seems there's a funk/fog/strain on the roster as no one seems immune these past few weeks. A lot of it does seem to be the absence of Draymond Green. I remember people talking about trading him before his value decreases; from what I've seen there's no way you ever trade him as he is the epitome of a quality player without stats to verify them. His coach on the floor role adds SO much stability to the defense and of course the guard dog mentality crosses over from defense into offense as well. It seems Mr. Triple Single is way, way more valuable than stats can really state. So much of this funk is about no Draymond. JP seems to really play better as a starter-I sincerely hope he can find a way to be that 6th man productive player the team needs him to be.

Warriors should look out for dragic or Craig if they get bought out. Cut belli and/or JTA, I know another guard isn’t what we really need but a real passer and facilitator is always good. The only reason I am suggesting a guard and forward is that I don’t see a strong big showing up. Craig is a big body who can rebound and dragic would be too good to pass on imo. I personally think that going small is gonna be inevitable, GP2 and klay can play the 3 if they had too and a really good backup guard isn’t the worst thing. Though I think getting rid of lee would have to happen, but I doubt they do that.

hahah bro that dude looks nothing like jessie from breaking bad

Jerry Heverly

There is no money to sign another player. Lacob puts a happy face on things but you see his frustration with the large luxury tax bill, especially when Covid cut the income. Put Belly at the top of the key and let him initiate the offense, that's his one strength. I praise Kerr for his people skills but the past two games emphasize his weaknesses, not fouling at the end of regulation vs. Indiana; playing jta (the energy guy) when he should have had a shooter in there; but in the end he had them busting butts to win a game that seemed lost, so there's that.

Alchemy - what can turn things around? It just feels like Dubs in dangerous territory of going downhill fast.

Natto Santo

So happy I don't need to see much of JTA. It is where we can start to clean up the mess of the roaster. Discipline Bjli for how not prepared he often is. Bench Lee if he do the touch foul on jump shooter. And Kerr should hold Curry accountable on making careless passes.

Natto Santo

It seems Poole need to start to be effective. I know it is a crazy idea. Can Klay or Wig coming off bench?

Nice breakdown Alch, thanks for the shoutout! Just a take on Steph, I think he's too used to getting freed from clean screens from draymond. I thought Draymond's absence might help Steph get elite again at iso possessions. There's like 4 videos on youtube by Evin Gualberto titled "Steph Curry - Superb Separation". It's a compilation of highlights showing stephs separation skills, and the 4 videos totals to like 40 minutes. Perhaps the chef needs to get back to his old bag.

Anonymous

Poole needs to get the green light to dribble and cook to find a rhythm, same for Steph. I find Poole at his most ineffective when he is coming off screens and barely dribbling or playmaking

Anonymous

Ricky Henderson was my idol as a kid, too -- grew up in NYC in the 80s.

Anonymous

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FphZqKA5hWo I never knew Ja had a similar story to Steph, def different in terms of steph growing up rich and around the league and Ja coming from nothin, but also almost identical, very supportive dads, overlooked for similar reasons, i have been hating on Ja since he smoked us in the play-in but appreciating his story and incredible play on the court more and more. Just seeing how much that competitive spirit and chip drove Curry to be who he is today, I can see Ja trailblaze his own evolution to the game with those same motivators. although, I think it may be a returning/remembering to an old school style of play, dominance through force and attacking the rim with a more modern bag

Anonymous

Was fortunate enough to have gotten to go the game and what was blatantly noticeable live was kuminga’s frustration with Belli. Saw him glare at him after a defensive mess up multiple times.

Anonymous

Does this game start the conversation that Jordan Poole be injected back in the starting line up. He had a huge block down the stretch

Anonymous

just saw a video of Luke Walton hanging out with the team before the Mavericks game tomorrow.... thoughts on that Alc?

DW

Nice words for the legend, Rickey Henderson
