Man thank you

I was starting to feel crazy Alch but thank God I'm not the only one who sees it. Mitchell has lead guard potential with his burst of he can figure out his finishing. As you said, at minimum I think he fills Iggy's old role in a small ball lineup. Too many ppl are focused on his height, age, and ft% without watching him play; dudes a baller

Anonymous

Damn. Pretty good video. You sold me on him pretty well; I've heard no one talk about his defense but hes a stud on D like what. I don't care much about his small size and length anymore. Maybe just for the mere possibility of getting him at 14 we skip on him at 7, but you make a good case for him at 7.

Anonymous

Alch what do you think of the idea of trading back to 9-11 in hopes of getting davion there while maybe getting another second in this draft. There’s gotta be some team really high on kuminga or bouknight that would overpay for that 7th spot.

Anonymous

I agree with every point you made. The shift and sudden dismissal of DMitch has really got under my skin. At the end of the day you gotta bet on one of these dudes. And he’s the kind of guy you bet on. I can appreciate a guy who has already proven himself a gym rat, and coachable. History tells us 60% of these guys won’t touch their potential, I know good and well Mitchell will. And HE’S A TOP 10 GUY!! I’m tired of hearing people say pick 7 is to high but 8,9,10 is appropriate. I get it, If Kumingas there, I agree taking that guys upside is to much to pass. But damn, if DMitch is your guy you take him. Just to much over thinking. He’s a dog. He’s got a chip on his shoulder like the rest of our guys. He’s overlooked. I hope he’s a warrior tomorrow night.

Alch blessing us with another breakdown. Unc, are you gonna break down any of the olympic games?!

Natto Santo

Smart, Play tough D, Eager to improve, they are winning traits, hope we can get him on board

Keith Reynolds Jr.

I loved watching him play in college. I live the dog that he has, and I love how he plays with a chip on his shoulder. It translates to his work ethic. However, the 6'does bother me some. Only because the guys he would guard on the switch booker, Mitchell,, Denver guards love the mid range pull ups. I think he would work hard on them for sure but that with the freethrows could limit the death line up hope. I am a Moses moody fan, but if they draft Mitchell I won't be upset. Thanks for the break down.

Good shit. Damn, got to say, i see the other talent but i want him on the dubs. Dude is just a fighter and super smart b-ball player. Holding out until 14 worries me. Was listening to Lowe's pod and he was throwing out a trade back scenario with Memphis at 10 to get one of their young players (Xavier Tillman was nice against us). I would be loving that kind of deal to not let Mitchell slip away. Like you said... I hope they don't overthink it. Kid can ball.

Anonymous

i still want Keon #1. But I am A-OK with Mitchell at 7. Still want Jalen Johnson at 14 (if he lasts)

Anonymous

Still not sold on Mitchell tbh. The low career 3PT and FT percentage to go along with his age and lack of size & length has me spooked. While I can concede that Mitchell could be a useful player immediately at the same time I believe that there is a real possibility of Buyer's remorse( For lack of a better word) with Davion 3-4 yrs down the road. Maybe am too risk-averse but I'd rather spend #7 and #14 on stocking up on wings w/ upside whether it be: Kuminga( If he falls), Moody, Duarte, Wanger, Murphy, or Bouknight( even though he's more of a Big guard). Can wait for the Live Draft Show‼💪🏿

John Pettus

I like this pick. A low-cost, win-now guy who can serious help us with good minutes wearing down the other team's top guard? in a guard-centric league? Let's get him AND GP2 and just grief dudes all game long. That plus Draymond organizing and a (hopefully) smartened up Wiseman back there? All while freeing up, OH YEAH, CURRY, KLAY and WIGGS to rock the offense?

Anonymous

I agree that the lack of Davion love is strange. If you get a guy who becomes your version of Pat Bev, leading a second team back court of he and Poole, that's pretty ideal. I guess I could say I really like him at 7, but love him at 14. That's fair. I did see a rumor about the Dubs trying to trade up to get Suggs at #4. NBC Sports Bay Area proposed 7, 14, and a 2022 lotto protected 1st rounder. I don't believe the Dubs are going to find a realistic deal for a superstar (which I don't think is bad, given the asking price for a guy like Beal), and have to play a rookie next season, consolidating and getting a premium guy like Suggs is interesting.

This video helped shift my perspective on davion. I wasnt opposed to getting him but it definitely didnt excite me. I think it’d be a bit of a letdown if we pick him at 7 over guys like Wagner, Kuminga, or Giddey but like many others on this thread, I would love him at 14.

Jello Smooth

Alch… so you would play Mitchell with curry in a small ball like up… I mean Tim Hardaway, and Lowery are 6’ ft killers … but our current switching D seems to preclude the idea that Mitch should ever be on the floor with Curry…. 😮 IDK … I just don’t see it

Anonymous

I'm good for Mitchell at #14. Would prefer Giddey at #7 and a scorer/shooter at #14 (assuming we keep the picks).. But if we draft Kuminga/Moody at #7, I can fucks with Mitchell for sure.

Anonymous

YUP... But before this video I didn;t see the up side of Micth at all. Now i see...BUT the Free throws tip the scales in favor of some of the other prospects. Giddey Wagner if they fall even Duarte.

Jerry Heverly

This is the guy. The free throws worry me. That always seems to be the most telling stat. But this is the guy. I'd like to see a third quarter lineup with Payton and Mitchell side by side especially against teams with premium guards like Memphis or Atlanta. He said it exactly....he is a winner.

Anonymous

Anyone complaining about Davion's free throw percentage hasn't seen Iguodala's ft% in the playoffs

Major Powers

These break downs (scouting reports) have been fuckin great uncle alc.

I'd love this pick, dude's a specialist. One way to stay on the floor is defense and I could easily see him be a pest for us. However, Kerr gives minutes to dudes that can't D up to save their lives (Mulder) so I'm not sure what we do with that 7th pick. If not Mitchell, maybe Moody. If we're trying to get guys that can be plugged in immediately, a lot of the 7-15 projected picks scare me.

Anonymous

Initially, I was thinking the Warriors should draft him at 7. But now there really does seem like a good chance he could last to 14. I'm for the Warriors gambling on Giddey, Kuminga, Bouknight, Sengun at 7, and hope Mitchell falls to 14...

Anonymous

No one talks about this, but he did hit em when they mattered

Anonymous

Imagine being the other teams point guard breathing a sigh of relief when Curry finally takes a break. You look up and there he is, Davion Mitchell the assassin. Great opening, it is the size of the fight in the dog. Draymond will have to stop whining about rookies or Davion might have to kick his ass. He is one of the few guys who will have immediate respect the day he walks into the Warriors locker room.

Anonymous

This is my guy! I hope the warriors take him at 7, he won't be available at 14 for sure, not a lot of guys in this draft are as ready as him. The warriors biggest strength last year was defense, we should double down on that advantage by bringing Mitchell in! Take Mitchell at 7, then a 3&D at 14. I'm not a believer in Kuminga, physical attributes are the most overrated things when it comes to drafting, yea the dude has physical upsides but what if he can't play basketball? What is the point? Steph, Klay, Draymond, none of these dudes are successful because they have some insane physical upsides, they are great at basketball, that's more important

Anonymous

I just got hard

Patrick Kennedy

Thanks, Alch. I’m with you on this. I think a couple of things have cemented for me the extreme value of high motor, high iq defenders with strength more than length. The first is watching the finals and playoffs and the absolute genius of Drew Holiday. These guys don’t sell tickets, but they are BUILT for the playoffs. To see the difference in the way the refs called games and the power of physicality and defensive brilliance to completely shift a series…we need someone to replace Klay’s brilliance here, and its not Wiggins. He’s good, but not enough fight. This guy is special.

Russ

For history sake if this draft is as thick as everyone thinks it is, we got Steph with the 7th pick and Klay at 11. Makes me excited that we will get some quality at 7 and 14. My only fear is what many, myself included saw in Jacob Evans, awesome defender not big, but tough... I know he's not the same as Mitchell but drafting defenders can be difficult. And I would not be mad if we package Wiseman to get somebody who's a baller with hands.

Anonymous

Alc, I respect your opinion. But you are so high on Mitchell... I am not even sure he could be an elite defender. Due to physical limitations, his defense may not translate in NBA. I remember you are also very high on Wiseman, and I still think he has a lot of potential, especially the shooting. But I feel you are biased toward some types of player, and have your own take. Anyway, I enjoy your breakdown.

Ryan Mitchell

Anyone else catch the ‘Still Tippin’ as the beat in the background?! Absolute fire

athleticalchemy

yeah Memphis has some nice pieces I think everyone would be interested in.. I thought they under played Clarke

athleticalchemy

funny I think being risk averse would be taking Mitchell... no live show, I want to actually sit and watch. I will drop a big pod first thing in the am

athleticalchemy

yeah I wouldn't be mad at that, as long as it wasn't the kitchen sink. Not sure the J will ever get to where it needs to be with Suggs

athleticalchemy

in certain situations.. How often did Kerr go to the deathlineup? He is the back up pg, but when they want to go small he can slide in with the starters

athleticalchemy

Im not mad at Moody.. in fact im more comfortable with him than most the other kids jumbled up 7 -14

Anonymous

First reaction is nah because of his bro. I mean he could be decent but I wouldn’t take a guy like that at 7

Anonymous

A guard that defends that is Alchemy endorsed so I fall in love and now I am in jeopardy of having my heart broken.

Anonymous

Alc we NEED a reaction pod/vid! Please!
