Appreciate the work on the weekend ALCH always

Anonymous

got off work straight to this what a lovely day

Kahlil Baker

Steph definitely got hit up top, I was surprised they overturned this call. The three point shot fouls are inconsistent when it comes to Steph

james moore

Seems like steph the only player refs let the defense step in his landing spot

Anonymous

What a fucking game. I ain’t even trippin. This was so damn fun.

Ezra Abbey

tatum was giving wigs the business last night, straight up cooked himone of wiggins strengths on defense is his size and gapping ability, he makes up for distance well and has quick feet and hands but tatum is just bigger than him, oubre would've probably been much more physical with jt.

Chris Styner

I dont wanna see steph for a few games. JuanT just works hard, hopefully he come off the laceration all good.

Alchemy.. honestly everytime i comment here i sound pessimistic and i dont like it but the truth is warriors are in abad situation. Mostly caused by the ineptitude of bob myers. I mean which GM pays dray who cant score 10ppg 25m/yr. Who does that.. its like giving rondo a max at this point. Those useless assists he gets dont impact winning. Someone called him a bball con man and i agree totally. Also wiggins is a bad contract. Role player on a max contract. Idc how good his defense is. Wiggins earns more than randle, jaylen brown, zach lavine and his production is less than theirs. The problem is it eats up the cap space. Warriors have no hope of title anymore. Dray is a total liablilty on offense. Infact his presence is in favour of the opponent. He wont take shots through 3 qtrs then try to be the hero. Honestly bob myers needs to be fired.

We've had a couple great wins, but this felt like the best loss.

Anonymous

That game was encouraging, inspiring, tense, a playoff atmosphere, an emotional roller coaster, a masterpiece, scary, unreal, with a heartbreaking finish, and a showcase for the wonder that is Steph.

Anonymous

I like when Draymond leaves it hanging. If he tricks even one defender into over guarding him, it’s worth it. All it costs is his dignity.

Anonymous

Steph's ankle buckled from the weight of carrying this team.

athleticalchemy

lot of bad luck.. some bad decisions. But If you have no hope, why still watch? We have to see how the end of the Steph Era plays out before we can truly judge this regime

Jerry Heverly

I agree. Rest Steph for the next two games. I disagree. Boston will not make it past the first round, they have nothing on the front line. Oklahoma City should study the Celtics. They had all those draft picks and what did it gain them? They are no better nor worse than they were five years ago.

athleticalchemy

oh no they may not.. but none of the contenders want them in their bracket imo

Anonymous

I feel like the way we’ve been playing there might be a run to still be had especially with the teams we have coming up

Anonymous

Steph is going to be out there until his streak ends. He wants this. I think this is more about respect than anything. This L doesnt matter. He overshadowed Tatum, and Tatum got better numbers and the W.

athleticalchemy

For sure but it’s easy to lose sight of what this season ultimately is. I’m not running Steph out on a bad ankle for a play in tourney

Anonymous

I don’t agree with your take...kerr left him in the game for a reason lol...everything went wrong this season...and now curry is in a moment...you can’t downplay HIS moment...this season he has been everything you want from a franchise player...there’s no stakes for this team anyway (even in the playoffs...)...you gotta take care of the mental of your superstar...that’s it...finish off the season with curry happy or feeling good....Also poole looked like he can play more 4th quarter minutes...pesky defense...likes the big moments...

Alc you noticed how van Gundy and Jackson always hate on Steph and the Warriors? The only thing they ever do is talk about how the other team should press Steph and how to beat the Warriors. Nothing else. It sickens me.

the landlord lmaoooooo

You make great points about Wiggins people don't see. He doesn't make guys uncomfortable so you still see a ton of people scoring on him with ease contested despite his physical advantage. It's not just that these guys get hot. Offensively too if he had the skills Tatum had he could stop taking these awful contested fadeaway midranges for more 3s and euro step drives, getting to the line. He shys away from contact and takes the easy way out. This is why Oubre is still useful to the team. Looney has always been good on the glass but I can't be the only one seeing him get beat over and over on PnRs. He just can't stay in front of guards anymore, that just wasn't the case in 2018. At this point we should probably go even smaller when Oubre comes back with JTA in the starting lineup as well. The Rockets had a lot of success with Covington as their tallest defender last season, especially when one of their two stars was on the bench.

Anonymous

Thanks, great breakdown as usual!!!! what a relief of the customary " so and so shocking reactions..." What a great competitive game. Did Kerr do some coaching at the end of the game? Too bad Draymond missed that last lay-up. Alch, can't you jinx Philly? Or does it only work for Dubs related stuff.

Anonymous

Definitely rest Steph for the 76ers, we probably lose that anyways. Embiid is not a good matchup for us, who the hell is going to guard him anyways, we'd have to double every time.

Anonymous

Kerr left Curry in because Curry said he could still play and it was mostly about managing pain.

Jansen E

The entirety of ESPN hates Steph. They hate that he's beaten LeBron for all his rings. They hate that his success is not Lebrons. They hate that the Warriors success isn't an LA or New York team. I totally agree. It is sickening.

Jansen E

I hope people realize the same thing I did after this game and the last few games. Oubre is a MUCH better fit than Bazemore. Oubre doesn't commit dumb fouls and his energy adds while Baze's energy is a toss up whether it adds or takes away. I couldn't stand Baze in this game. I hate every time he brings the ball up, I sense a stupid play happening. Such a shame another great performance from Curry is wasted on a blown game. I said this exactly on the last video. I don't mind them losing. But will hate if they lose a game they should've won. Missed free throws. Terrible possessions. Blown layups. I hope JTA is okay. Man played his heart out. Wiggins continues to be the conundrum. Is he helpful or not? It often feels like any points he scores seem to not really change the game. And while his defense is good, like you point out, everyone shoots over him anyway. He needs to suck up space of shooters and get them out of rhythm. Active hands to disrupt their handle. SOMETHING. Tatum was amazing but seeing him just have his way on every shot was annoying. Finally. This game showed the exact limit of the potential of this team with the current lineup (injuries included). This is exactly how a play-in game would go for this team. Curry literally doing everything and the supporting case just barely keeping pace, only to fuck it up at the end cuz that's how they are. Bazemore is a veteran, but he has nowhere near the real "veteran savvy" you need on a team like Iggy or Shaun.

Anonymous

U right, with him it's always a toss up, the discrepancy between good and bad is like his teeth, the GAP is HUGE. sorry didnt have anything valuable to add, it was too inviting 😅

Jansen E

Inconsistent? Closer to nonexistent. He's without a doubt the most fouled player in the league who doesn't get calls for some reason. He was fouled on at least 3 three-point attempts that I counted, and probably on some two pointers as well. Idk why the league actively seems to TRY to not give Steph calls. Bob and Kelenna have pointed it out before. Look at Stephs arms. The dude gets clawed night in and night out and yet doesn't average 11-12 FTA a game.

Anonymous

I guess Steph and the boys heard that chatter from friday

Anonymous

I don't know if we should blame this on either Wiggins' mentality or Kerr, but I feel like Wiggins should have gotten more downhill touches in the last 6 ish minutes or so. I feel like he didn't get any touches at all, we were just mainly spamming Steph + Draymond pick and roll and clearly Draymond wasn't finishing and bazemore made the wrong read that one time. I feel like I've never seen them do this, but why didn't they try doing a Steph + Wiggins pick and roll. If they double team Steph, we could punish it much harder than we do with Steph + Draymond because you best believe Wiggins downhill from the top of the key is gonna get at least a layup or a foul with all that momentum, or make the right read for the open shooter. It didn't seem to me like Boston had many rim protectors so I feel like Wiggins could have taken advantage of that. But like you said alch, Wiggins wasn't being aggressive at all, but I feel like it could be up to the coaching staff to draw up a couple plays for him to get him engaged. Another reason why they I think they're not doing that Steph+Wiggins combination is like you said alch, the offense needs to run through Draymond. Imagining Draymond sitting in the open corner I just know that wouldn't go well. Another reason why we might need to move off Draymond. JTA looks like he could fill part of his role as a passer, and next season we could play Steph on ball more now running pick and rolls with wiggins and wiseman. I don't really have a solution, just musing. Definitely feel like steph+ wiggins pick and roll would have caused some damage in that game

athleticalchemy

How bout KO at the 5 flying around like a mad man. He is physical enough to not allow deep catches

Russ

Great point about Wiggins not making people uncomfortable like Kelly or Dray do. I can't blame him too much he seems like a soft hearted guy and doesn't want to be an asshole. Trouble is most elite defenders have that Asshole edge. See Alvin Robertson, Rodman, Pippen, Draymond, Mad Max. Beverly. Looney had one of his best games, he is very limited I'll agree, but he sets picks that free Steph etc. and his O rebounds were the thing that kept us in this game. As I've stated many times, this team is a horrible O rebounding team so whenever anyone gets one it shocks everyone and almost always turns into an easy 3. On that one play where Dray chucks a pass into a Celtic and it bounces directly to him for a layup. That was the third consecutive play that Green turned the ball over, this one just didn't count as one. If we counted all of his shots for what they are u really could count hit shot attempts as turnovers as well. Meaning I doubt he has had any games where his assist numbers r above his turnover numbers. I know thats not right to do but when u know him, one could assume that. Lastly, Steph Curry IS this team. Without him this year, we may be the worst team in the league.

athleticalchemy

Yo it’s true! his shot attempts are tov 💀

Warriors need to rest Steph, we have a lot of big games with playoff implications coming up including 3 against New Orleans and 1 vs Sac in the final part of the season. If we can win those games, Warriors are pretty much locked to make the play-in almost by a default because Sac and NO are just too many games back. The final stretch of this season is going to be exciting especially considering how competitive the 7-10 seeds are in the West. I would love to see the Warriors make it to the 8th seed so they only need to win 1 of 2 in the play-in tournament instead of having to win back-to-back games as a 9th/10th seed but in order to have any chance, we need a healthy Steph.

Yehudah Raphaelsohn

I know the game was basically already decided, but you skipped the last sick Steph step back 3 on one healthy foot.

Anonymous

Dray's complete inability to score is far more the issue long term than Wiggins. Wiggins is exactly what we hoped him to be, a guy who fills first half buckets, plays good d, and hits a few wide open 3's down the stretch. With Klay back, thats what hes meant to be. Draymond smoking that layup, and being unable to a hit a consistent shot from anywhere makes it heavily unlikely for the Warriors to be a true contender in the upcoming seasons. Theres moves to be made, and his name needs to be attached to it.

Anonymous

nothin but joy here watching the chef cook , Wish the warriors could have won, but complaining about anything after a game like this is like having a great thanksgiving feast and then complaining cause your sons girlfriend wont give you a BJ. sure it'd be nice , but goodness sometimes it dont get much better ... Thanks for puttin in weekend time Alcmy

Anonymous

I actually wasn't expecting this game to be nearly as competitve as it was. But despite Stephs nuclear performance the outcome was quite predictable especially after JT went down which seemed to take the wind out of the team. You would imagine they will be extra cautious with Stephs ankle unless he himself is really motivated to push for the scoring title. It doesn't mean anything to me and much like Russ and his triple doubles that storey of thing seems pretty meaningless on a losing team.

Anonymous

Still plenty of moves that have to be made in the off season for my mind but I'm not that confident in Bob these days. I suspect nepotism will continue to muddy the water. That said I don't agree with some on here that relationships are meaningless. They are a big part of the culture and identity that some historic teams have created and sustained. It's not for nothing that Iggy and all those other savvy vets signed and excelled at their roles. You want a GM to be super cold blooded like Danny Ainge? That comes with it's own downsides. I think Kemba is currently playing well despite Ainge not because of him. Players don't react well to being so blatantly treated as a commodity to be used and discarded.

Anonymous

they have to trade draymond, but they won’t

Anonymous

Continued frustration with the Wiggins shrinking violet, no dawg, no clutch, dynamic. If he had a soundtrack it would be the old new wave pop track, "Too shy". Baze's would be some kind of Looney Tunes, Elmer Fudd joint. Agree that it is best to rest Steph, make his minutes count and see if he can add a scoring title to his accolades. That and seeing how we do in the play in tourney are the only things left to look forward to,

Anonymous

Yo Alch not gonna lie I went to watch the Mortal Combat movie I was disappointed maybe cause I couldn’t take it series from the beginning

Anonymous

Part way through the 76s game (not watching) and somehow this is competitive. But this quotation isn't specific to that. How common is it for teams to have 4-5 guys on the bench that almost never see play? I understand that it's largely about putting your best players on the court as much as possible but this Warriors team seems to have lots of guys that your almost never see on the court. Smiley, Nico, Payton etc. Then you add in the injuries, Klay and Wiseman (Oubre just coming back). Not to mention we've been lucky with Covid compared to some teams. Still the roster is stupidly short handed on top of all their other flaws.

Sam

This breakdown had me wheezing. Above the great analysis and consistency in amazing content, your humor will always have me coming back. Another spectacular video!

We always lose to Celtics.
