Haven't seen the breakdown yet but is this one of those games where you don't mind losing as much because it helps your young guys get better for future similar and more important situations .

Anonymous

Man you really have a soft spot for wiseman, I think it’s cool you support him like that. But the thing that worries me most about him are the bobbled rebounds. It makes it seem like his hands can’t keep up with the speed of the game. Maybe it gets better with time or maybe he just has slow reflexes. If it’s the latter that’s a big concern.

Anonymous

Steph just didn’t look right for some reason, seemed to lack energy. I’m not sure if it was the constant grabbing and double teams but I think if he’s having an off shooting night, he should flail moan and bate those fouls ala Young and Harden, because the refs are not calling the off ball shit. ugh.

athleticalchemy

Our future is very reliant on him succeeding, so yeah im rooting for him! .. the reflexes are a concern, his processing should take a big jump and that will help. He has basically gone form HS to the pros when talking about getting use to the speed of the game. But I will keep it as objective as possible as time goes on. Those that have been here with me for several seasons know I will keep it real.

athleticalchemy

yeah we can talk all we want about IQ and spacing, but that might be the biggest problem with all the off ball stuff you are not going to get any calls.

Not having EP really hurt us. And I reckon Kerr should have played Wiseman for this one. If he got fouled out then he got fouled out and gets the lesson.

Ezra Abbey

For all of the complaints people have against Wiseman he held Sabonis to real low numbers, and Sabonis has been going off this season. I'm gonna give the guy some time, I don't see the point in judging every performance of his like it's gonna project the future, he's obviously super talented and smart. Give him time, he cares and wants to become better.

Russ

I have to admit this was Wiseman's worst game. I know this is a tough match up but too many times he gets easily pushed out of the paint and his hands do not look strong enough to grab anything in traffic. At the moment he has Festus Ezeli hands. He will get stronger, he looks strong now but that's a bit of a false read, he doesn't play strong. From 19-21 most men don't grow much taller but they usually get a lot stronger, let's hope this happens to his hands.

Kahlil Baker

The paschall news just brought me back to life😂 I love him coming off the bench been a reel boost for us

Anonymous

I swear there's always at least one hilarious reference to a player per video. The Jakar Sampson dude being out of a history book had me dying. Anyway, tough loss. I don't think it necessarily says anything about the team...but I think a takeaway is that Kerr needs to run some sets against the box and one and Steph needs to take more shots in general. No more of the "first shot taken at 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter"...get the man in rhythm. Dubs go as he goes (usually).

Matt Hanna

we are starting to see the defensive culture build and they are hanging around in games. I hate to think this but damn what would this team look like with Klay, wigs and Steph balling out. Would we be sort of the third best team in the west? Hopefully they shock us and go like 2-1 on the next 3 games

Anonymous

Bazemore and D.Lee...power of the headband! Baze is really growing on me. Yeah, I've been noticing Oubre sitting and watching...it's way more noticeable because usually he's moving at 110%. Was relieving to see him change up his play style FINALLY. "Let's not confuse Steph shooting poorly with playing poorly." Completely agree. I go back to Poker and trying to distinguish between good decision making and good results. "Resulting" is when you go say your decision was good because of the result being good...but a broken clock is right twice in a day. As long as the competitiveness is there and we limit how many lazy, boneheaded moves are made, it's a "good" game to me.

athleticalchemy

No you can see how easily he is moved right now. A offseason of core work will do wonders. He is soft in there right now.

Abhi Kelkar

Yo Alch, I think you should do a box-and-one breakdown on YT, I feel like it's getting a lot of buzz rn and you get some new subs that way. Already touched in it a bit in this breakdown too! I thought they shoulda kept Wiseman in until he fouled out in the 4th. Sabonis/Turner just ate us up on the boards and we lacked any size outside of Looney

athleticalchemy

I would mind a early heat check. What if he just went into the game like “ I’m get to the line 2x in the first 4 min”

Anonymous

I hold my breathe whenever Unc Alch says "and then this happens...". I don't know whether I'm going to see an injury next or a big play. Ooooweee! Great breakdown though Uncle, you da GOAT!

athleticalchemy

Poker is so simple yet so complicated, guess that’s the beauty in it. Baze raises the intensity every time he checks in

oladipo / harden / lavert 4 team trade! https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1349467665631490050?s=19

Anonymous

EP quickly became a necessity for this team. Really missed him out there.

Anonymous

Wiggins needs more free throws

Paschall is clear now. Sounds like he'll be back for the next game.

Thomas Ogas

While we clearly needed Paschall in this game, I felt like Oubre's scoring made up for it and it was very winnable. Just running out of steam, mostly Steph. I love how hard they play, but I am worried the older guys (Steph, Draymond) won't be able to keep it up. The team never has had to play hard for the full 48 before. In the past, they tended to blow teams out early, or bring it on in the 3rd and put teams away with a combination of talent + effort. With less overall talent, more effort is needed... And, damn, I'm really missing Chriss on this roster. His presence alone last night would have swung this game for us. He's a better big than Looney and needed with Wiseman's growing pains and foul trouble.

Daniel Fries

Miles Turner's eyes move at least 3x as fast as any other player's. Anybody else notice this?

Anonymous

Tough loss last night, just heard some good news that Paschall has cleared protocol and will be playing in the upcoming road trip. They are going to need him...

Russ

Agree if Chriss was playing we win last nights game, he is a huge miss right now.

Anonymous

EP is available for Thursday game I heard that’s a good news and suns hawks game postponed cuz of protocol so idk it’s suns or hawks problem

Anonymous

How would u guys feel about trading for gordon and tucker for oubre and other pieces? Not giving up on oubre just yet, but still... would u do it?

Anonymous

def a tough loss I circled Toronto an Indy as wins but thought we'd lose both games to Portland and the clips. Steph needs to be more aggressive. Kerr needs to through in some sets too. offense was offensive in that 4th q. Might want to try more Wiggins iso as well since he most likely won't get double teammed.

Anonymous

A really good defensive game again by Wiggins, who night after night takes on every difficult cover (including some time on Brogdan last night) and not only does he make play but you can see from opponent's body language that players lose their appetite to go against Wiggins pretty quick and pass the ball.

Anonymous

Wiseman is a kid that comes to the pros with a lot of expectation because of his obvious physical attributes. What is overlooked a bit, I think, is that his route has no historical equal. He had 3 college games, and then the longest break ever to the draft during which time he was mostly just practicing his shooting with no real organized play or coaching then once he is drafted boom Covid and the season is on him. I would add he doesn't yet have a man's body and that's gonna come. Moses Malone went from high school to pros but he had his body at 19 and it was the ABA when the play style didn't have complicated rules, defensive rotations, and pressure of media. Wiseman is doing great all things considered.

Anonymous

oladipo with the red and black flannel, dude knew he was houston bound lol. pacers got better with lavert IMO. shots will drop w/ steph, and as slater says, wiseman is the "teenage roller coaster"

Anonymous

Def needed this breakdown. After watching the game last night something just seemed off. I hear whisperings of PJ Tucker being on the market... I wonder how he would fit with us and our bench

Anonymous

idk what the deal is with wannamaker, cant tell you how many times we'd have a fast break last year and he would just get stuffed at the rim or just miss it trying to lay it up. I assumed it was Stevens telling him to stay aggressive but he's still doing it so idk.

Anonymous

“What Paschall does in the middle of that box” is your best pause and arguably best line of the season so far. Impressive

Anonymous

Lmao Harden traded to the Nets. Now they got 3 hateable all stars in one

Anonymous

i think you hit it right on the dot. Wiseman doesn't have good defensive insticts, I feel like he's playing as a small guy on the paint. I also think it might be he also doesn't move well laterally and that's the reason why he gets out of position. What's your take on wiggins' flat shots this game alch?

Jansen E

I'm very surprised how badly we missed Paschall. I know he's been our best bench player that isnt Lee, but still. The second unit looked pretty bad out there. I TOLD YALL NOT TO BE FOOLED BY THOSE TWO GAMES FROM WANAMAKER. I would put money on the fact that he is the absolute WORST finisher at the rim in the NBA. I've never seen a dude get stuffed at the rim that many times. The pacers deserved this game. They played better and came up big when they needed to. This road back to back is gonna be rough but lets hope they can at least split them!

Anonymous

We probably should also give props to Oubre for not stepping on the sideline in the first quarter when he drove and then passed to Wiggins.. I was watching his feet! lol

Russ

Agree Wiggins is a monster and u know the rest of the league has taken notice. With Dray losing his jumping ability noticeably Wiggins might be all around becoming our best, but Dray as a team defender is head and shoulders above. Just great to c Wiggins stepping up every night.

Anonymous

Too many turnovers.

Anonymous

Yeah I’m with you. The lost wouldn’t have felt so bad if it wasn’t for the upcoming schedule. Maybe there’s a little bit of luck that the Suns game is postponed and they get a few more days off. TOR and Indy might be the main teams that use the box and 1 bc of Nurse and the Pacer’s coach being one of Nurse’s disciples. I think I would try Wiggins iso and Steph screen his man when/if teams go to it. But nonetheless, I think the team may have seen just about every defense they can already just 11 games into the season.

Anonymous

There was a sequence at the end when it was still close and Steph was at the top of the key with Wiggins and you could tell Wiggins wanted the ball but Steph didn’t trust him/felt like he should take the shot and forced up a shot and missed. The next sequence Wiggins pulled up for a quick 3 and nailed it and it felt like a, “see, I can make a clutch shot.” Obviously it’s still early and trust is still building especially down the stretch. I think like Kerr Steph is a master at sharing with other superstars but sharing with a young all star is different. Hopefully Oubre can become consistent. Squidworth is fucking annoying! It’s hard to watch Wiseman learn sometimes when you can see he’s got a Lambo engine but just doesn’t know how to drive yet :-)

Anonymous

Bottom line is Myles is insane. Maybe he watched your video about his clenching his cheeks in the playoffs.

Anonymous

Imo, I think Wiseman is a bit stiff in his upper body. He doesn't move as fluidly laterally and in totality as Bam Adebayo or Hakeem. He looks way better moving vertically and longitudinally.

Anonymous

Based of Warriors Social Media it seems like EP was traveling with the team so I’m assuming he will be good to go in Denver. I know we could’ve won this game without him but if he was in there’s no doubt we get the dub.

Anonymous

Paschal will be ready for the roadie! looks like they sat Vic for that trade lmao

Anonymous

Honestly a lucky break that the Phoenix game is postponed, no traveling back to back and extra time to rest/prepare for the Lakers. Not sure why Kerr sat wiseman for the final 6 minutes, even with 26 already played. Just let the kid stay in until he fouls out, cause his presence was missed when they started rolling at the end. Glad that EP will be back tonight. By the end of this season, we’ll see stats about which teams were the most proactive/safest regarding COVID, and how many games it won them vs. teams that constantly have guys in protocol. Having a bunch of married family men will help the dubs with that, no reason to go anywhere but home or the hotel lol

athleticalchemy

Yeah I think there are going to be nights where Wig should get it late. He is able to get to his shot so easily.

Anonymous

I 100% Agree with your take but come playoff time, if we do make it we need wiseman to be more obedient which is why coach kerr been hard on him i think..

Anonymous

nevermind the unmatched analysis, I come here for the roasts. "is that candy man's alias?" STOPP, ALC!
