Major Powers

lol don't text alc early in the morning.

John

Dude I FUCKIN FEEL YOU on the super late response or asking for a paragraph and then ghost me

Anonymous

i do feel you, it is the common trend these days. but there are just some days or times where it gets tiring to always "be on" with how connected we are. im only 32 but i often miss the days of just like "aight see y'all tomorrow at school." Now for some business, or serious questions, I will be on it. but sometimes I will see a message and I just want to protect my own time and space and not be intruded upon by texts. But i have discussed this with my friends or those i care about and have told them individually like "yo, there are gonna be times where im just disconnecting for a couple days and it isnt me trying to ice you out"

athleticalchemy

That’s a good point! I mean more so in the middle of a text conversation. I’ll adapt tho, if that’s just common practice now.

That was a fun convo. I have to disagree about he questions the reporters were asking 45 though. Those seem like legit questions to me because of how he's presenting his admin's position and how he's actively trying to rewrite history on how they've handled the pandemic so far. I have a lot of respect for journalists and journalism as a profession in general. He's going out there to throw shade and make himself out to be something he is not. I think it's their responsibility to push him to answer for himself. Maybe I'm old fashioned but that's my take on it

athleticalchemy

Well said.. he started it. But at certain point I think we have to move past trying get him to be something he is not. What’s the saying “ don’t argue with fools....” but I guess that’s easier said sitting on my couch rather than facing him daily.

Hell yeah! I missed James’s sometimes out of left field takes!

Re: DJT: I agree mostly, but I think sometimes he baits the reporters. You can see it is when you watch longer clips. Sometimes someone is being really nice and reasonable and he goes off on them for long periods of time. The professional ones don't change their tone, but the ones that aren't, get a little chippy.

But, you are 100.000000000% correct that this is all a distraction from the main event. Getting that mofo out of office. Getting this pandemic under control and getting everyone back to work. (I know the calculation of when to go back to work is very complex, and I'm not going to say I have the whole answer. It's a really, really hard problem.)

Ezra Abbey

I work with a lot of musicians and rappers and it's the worst. These dudes don't answer me for weeks on end sometimes, and it's infuriating. What's weird to me is that it's kind of accepted that this is how it works in the game. I've been having a hard time accepting it 'cause what ends up happening is that it's hard for you to rely on any of these people .

I agree with you that it is becoming repetitive that the media is trying to shit on on Trump, but if you look at it from its entirety, Trump is really asking to be shat on. Remember, he got onto the political scene by saying stupid and controvertial shit all the time regardless of how profound or inappropriate the circumstances are. It's like he's begging for attention with no shame about it really. It really is like KD firing back on twitter (although KD is somewhat justifiable in this case), he's simply giving the media more fuel to attack him and he's not being a cool or better man by standing above it either. I'm pretty sure that other politicians and celebs have had worse to deal with too. Obama had some trolls shit talking to him too, people began throwing things and George Bush during a speech, and Bill Gates got a pie smacked into his face too. I think that more people should copy the man who ,dealt with tough and controvertial situations that unfairly judge them, best: Kawhi. Because Kawhi stays quiet, humble and likeable, he doesn't give anybody fuel to hate on or attack him in the long run, alot of Spurs fans still adore him and people actually gave him the benefit of doubt and sympathy as a result (because it really was the Spurs fault imo). And guess what, most people have mainly forgot and forgave how he "betrayed the spurs" (even Skip Bayless!) while people still criticise KD. I know that numerous people prefer to give a more aggressive, fiery Russ Westbrook like approach to this to avoid shame and feel strong but it really does add fuel to the fire more often than not and makes things worse when used in the wrong situations especially. And Trump does this all the time and it just makes everything worse. I know this from experience because I never liked not reacting back to people when I got slighted so during like the last 5 years I always aggressively reacted back to insults because it felt good and it made me feel strong. But I lost alot and friends and respect after I kept overdoing it. One time, when someone called by mom a B**** at the supermarket in Malaysia I just snapped at that person to F*** off because it's my mom, but my mom afterwards got really mad at me because she said that I could've got hurt if they were part of a gang or carried a knife and were not right in the head and retaliated. She told me to be quiet next time and ignore them so things won't get worse (she's right), yet needless to say I didn't listen to her. So moving back to Trump, if he was as classy or as cool as someone like Obama, than I guarantee that the reporters wouldn't be "baiting" and poking fun at him as much but he's just a loose cannon and that's how the media works, that's blood in the water. The man doesn't even have the respect of his peers, like remember Trudeau , Macron and Merkel were caught talking behind his back during a European conference?! I don't think that has ever happened to any POFUS before (reminds me of someone else you hate in the basketball world). But you're right about how everyone should be working towards solving more important crisis such as Covid-19 or getting him our of power. But tbh, I never get tired of shitting on trump (sorry, I'm unfit to be talking about politics). A part of me (shamefully) wants him to stay as president because the stuff he does is so ludicrously hilarious, but obviously for your sake, I want him out. Honestly, I am just so surprised that he wasn't impeached 2 years earlier for the antics he has done as well as how many people still supporting him. But lets just say I diss trump with a passion, mirroring the passion you hate Harden with. You feel me?

One thing about James saying that if the virus mutates it could become less bad and herd immunity, although the idea is promising, if a virus mutates, usually the virus might become even worse or undetectable even... like antibiotic resistance and that shit. That's why we can't cure the flu because there are like so many variations, one vaccine isn't enough.

athleticalchemy

I don’t hate Harden, I hate his game. Ultimately two wrongs don’t make a right. This is a unique situation, in a normal election year I’d say have at it.

Great pod again, This situation actually helped my shape, because before Covid I broke my hand playing ball and gained a lot of weight, but with the pandemic and no school I have more time on my hand than ever. So I turned vegan for the last three weeks, no sugar, no flour, no pasta, and I've been cooking daily. The food is great, when you put the time in to cook and I don't miss anything right now. I went from 5'11, 175 to 160 (I know 175 is not too much but you could see the neck getting thicker by the day). It's been keeping me busy and very satisfied with myself during this Quarantine. Can't wait to hit the weights after this shit is over.

My pandemic project was to build a two level stone terrace garden. Talk about a no-gym routine that will put serious muscle on. The only worry I have is getting a hernia or straining my back from lifting boulders that maybe I shouldn’t lift. It’s been awesome though and the garden looks amazing
