Curry destroyed everyone this game. If only this was the finals lol

james moore

Its crazy nobody talks about this game. I know klay was on fire game 6 but ppl act like it ended there

trysmo324

great vid as usual alc! this is my favorite steph game of all time, maybe his best ever in my opinion. nice insights on kd, you nailed it with the built in bias we all had. looking forward to killa in game 6

lol durant not trying he still hit some shots like it was nothing, shows his talent as a basketball player, imagine if he tried.

Yeah see I don't think I agree that Curry looked fine here. I don't exactly trust my eyes in evaluating speed but comparing him to his 2016 regular season highlights, he looked like he had significantly more acceleration and side to side movement. His trainer said he was maybe 70% due to the mcl sprain and I'd say that's how I feel about it. The reason he played so well imo is (1) Westbrook and (2) Adams. Those guys just kept giving him space and never made Curry work hard like the entire Cavaliers team who was really focused on mugging him. Blazers weren't exactly a great perimeter defense team either

Durant shot 30 ppg 54% TS for the series which is pretty bad. I mean I guess that's technically what LeBron has averaged over his finals and he somehow gets labeled as a great finals performer.

I cant remember watching a more exciting championship team like the warriors because they are always in the game with the splash brothers they can down by 20 going into the 4th and still come back and win the game

We already know the content is great, but the editting is getting better and better alc

athleticalchemy

Yeah I’m with you man! This has to be a top 3 performance of his but it’s overshadowed by gm6 and the finals

I think Andre Iguadola is right up there with Scottie Pippen as one of the best perimeter defenders in the history of the game. His quick hands are probably the best I've ever seen in a defender

You could argue that KD should've tried harder to go to the line like LeBron, but like you said, the refs weren't calling anything. If the refs aren't calling anything, how willing are you to sell it to the cameras?

This series will forever be the definition of bitter sweat. Legendary series, but knowing what happens next...

Thanks Uncle Alch! Awesome breakdown-it really helps an old Dubs fan like I to fully appreciate 2016-as a route to June 2017. A question: why oh why do so many pundits call Steph Curry bon-clutch? Is is the missed shot in last years GM 6 at the end or 2016 GM 7? No one is clutch all the time except maybe MJ. On that note-if you haven’t done it already-maybe the fan base is ready for one of your breakdowns on 2016 Finals GM 7. As distance and 2 chips have kind of softened the blow-that game was absolutely incredible in drama and story line. I still can’t believe Steph’s behind the back pass to nowhere-but there were so many factors that led to that game. And that game led to KD and 2 Finals championships. Thanks again!

Thanks Paul! I have had a few requests for it, frankly...Iv been kinda waiting for things to start looking more positive. Looks like we are headed that way! I hope!

honestly that slow down of him clutching the knee at half is ingrained in my mind, I just kept remembering that and no one saying anything about it, like everything was fine idk reaching. Fucking amazing game, that season literally felt like anytime Curry touched the ball it was a bucket, no matter the time. Great breakdown as always, thizz dance

athleticalchemy

Its a slippery slope..but he pull up there instead and how much changes? I mean were talking no KD resign HB type alternate universe

John Z

Oh for certain, and like you said in an earlier breakdown, the league was going to change the way they guarded us, so KD was necessary. I just ment the injury being just so glossed over at the time.

Just the right balance of edification, elegance, and gusto. Another alchemical work of art, much appreciated.

Maybe game 4 of that finals series first to ease us in. An underrated game imo especially with how it was the first real good game of that series. Honestly I'll watch everything you put up, straight fire

Gosh I despise montejuanus to this day still for being a klutz and tripping over his own foot causing that curry injury. Steph was playing at supreme level and was bound to win back to back chips and finally get that finals mvp. Idc what anyone says he played hurt way worse than we thought it was. 2016 was an emotional roller coaster

Putting it into context this could technically be called the game steph sacrificed his health and image to get KD(in terms of his shitty finals performance which followed). What looks like TWO bum knees and still going all out. Maybe its OKC’s swarming defense, or maybe it’s just been so long since we’ve seen this steph, but in some of the clips you showed it seemed like he dribbled more on one possession than he did in entire games these past few seasons. It really looked like he said f*ck the finals, let’s just get this one and accept our fate(although hindsight is indeed 20/20). Anyways, great breakdown alch, we can tell how much effort goes into every single one of these videos. You’re a legend.

Loved every second of this breakdown. A true joy to rewatch such a compelling performance from the Splash Brothers during this time of uncertainty! Thank you Alch for a great breakdown.

I was going to see this video again after a long time, and I just realized that it no longer exists anymore :(

Alch any way to get this back up?
