Optimus Prime furrowed his brow, gazing southwest, but he wasn't particularly concerned about Defensor.

Decepticon's First Generation giant Devastator—Hercules—was never invincible, even during the initial Civil War. Although it did pose countless troubles for the Autobots at its inception.

Shockwave created Hercules, but he also abandoned it.

Hercules's flaws were quite apparent, and a non-reversible combination was enough to prompt the great scientist to explore other avenues. Subsequently, Predaking proved to be his successful creation.

However, it didn't mean that Hercules was entirely without merit. When the relevant technology fell into Starscream's hands, the scientist who was already overseeing the development of Vehicons chose not to challenge Hercules's non-reversible aspect directly. Instead, he aimed to minimize the requirements for combining Decepticons.

While this reduced Hercules's combat effectiveness and turned it into a disposable war asset, it also lowered the cost of production. Deploying one or two Hercules units on critical battlefields could tilt the tide of war in their favor.

Provided they didn't encounter Defensor.

Known as the most potent Second Generation giant Devastator, Defensor often had the upper hand even when facing the Second Generation Decepticon giant Devastator—Predaking.

"The breach has been opened by Defensor, and Decepticons are starting to scatter. However, this disarray won't last long. We can't let their commander react. All Autobots, assemble, follow me in an assault. Our target is the Decepticons' Moon Base!"

Optimus Prime had engaged with Decepticons for millions of years. He knew that Decepticon commanders wouldn't sit idly by while their Vehicons were terrified into fleeing. They would soon issue orders to get these Vehicons, scared off by Defensor, back into the battle.

Time wasn't on the Autobots' side.

After issuing the command, Optimus Prime brandished a heavy sword and led the charge.

War was cruel, and the Leadership Module wasn't all-powerful. These Autobots were all exceptional warriors, but when facing ten times as many Decepticon Vehicons, casualties were inevitable.

Seventeen Autobot warriors had died in the previous battles; some had their heads pierced, some had their Sparks torn, and some were brutally blown to pieces. Even those who had been saved from severe injuries now bore wounds. The energy in their Leadership Modules was running low, and Optimus Prime didn't have the luxury to fully restore them to their prime state. Patching them up enough to continue the fight was sufficient; the rest of their injuries could be easily treated by Ratchet and the others after the battle.

Optimus Prime knew time was limited, so without hesitation, he rallied all Autobots, advancing toward the Decepticons' Moon Base through the opening created by Defensor.

However, Starscream's reaction was faster than he had anticipated.

The Decepticon aircraft circling above showed no signs of retreat despite the damage inflicted by Defensor earlier. Unlike the Vehicons who retained self-awareness, these Decepticon aircraft were controlled remotely from the rear.

So, when they noticed the Vehicons below fleeing, these Decepticon aircraft immediately adjusted their weapons and began firing at the fleeing Decepticons on the ground.

Accompanied by a series of explosions ahead, a group of fleeing Decepticon Vehicons at the forefront was obliterated by the relentless attacks, scattering metal fragments in all directions.

Simultaneously, a cold voice echoed in the minds of all Decepticon Vehicons.

"Decepticons, obey orders. Do not retreat. Halt the Autobots' advance..."

With a cold voice echoing, from the Decepticon outpost's alert zone several kilometers behind, more Decepticon Vehicons began roaring as they rushed towards the battlefield.

Optimus Prime and his team had only advanced about five to six kilometers before they collided once again with the reassembling Decepticons.

"Boom, boom, boom..."

This time, the Autobots immediately felt the pressure.

The reason they had been surrounded by Decepticon Vehicons before was because the enemy vastly outnumbered them, far exceeding the total number of attacking Autobots by tens of times.

However, despite Defensor's earlier fierce assault that indeed crushed a batch of Decepticon Vehicons, it was in Decepticons' nature to be ruthless in the face of weakness. Once they sensed more comrades joining the battle, and with the commander still controlling the Decepticon aircraft, they replaced their initial fear with anger and resentment.

As a result, an even more brutal battle erupted, and the Decepticon Vehicons fought to the death. They were driven by instinct, with their intellect deliberately adjusted by Starscream during their development, emphasizing their beastly nature over rationality.

When the first Autobot warrior was besieged and torn apart by nearby Vehicons, it was as if a contagious bloodlust had spread, spurring more Decepticons to become increasingly fierce and ruthless.

"Boom!"

Raising his Laser Cannon, Optimus Prime obliterated two closely positioned Decepticon Vehicons into fragments.

With a swing of his heavy sword, Optimus Prime cleaved three Vehicons at their waists.

Bullets continued to strike his mechanical body, causing more and more minor cracks.

Watching the fearless charge of the Decepticons, Optimus Prime's expression turned grim.

"Autobots, gather around me..."

Leveraging the destruction caused by Defensor, the Autobots had pushed the front lines to within fifty kilometers of the Decepticons' Moon Base.

However, these mere fifty kilometers now seemed like an insurmountable chasm, completely blocking their progress.

The Skytiger Legion's swarm tactics, utilized from the first Civil War to the present, had repeatedly crushed the Autobots. Decepticon commanders, armed with more resources, mature breeding technology, and a more ruthless attitude towards Decepticon Vehicons, had relied on swarm tactics time and time again to defeat the Autobots.

As the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime was once again faced with a choice.

Should he expend his elite Autobot forces in a life-or-death battle against the Decepticons, or should he retreat before impending failure, waiting for more reinforcements to arrive and then try again?

While he hesitated, an urgent communication link suddenly connected to Optimus Prime, sending a jolt through his being.

"Leader, we've found a crashed spaceship at the coordinates Frenzy provided! But there are Decepticons guarding it nearby, and they've spotted us!"

The urgent communication came from the Autobot Cassettebots, the only intelligence squad currently under Optimus Prime's command.

And it was this intelligence that prompted the young Autobot leader to make a decision.

"Ironhide, Drift, Sideswipe, follow me as we fall back. Autobots, prepare to withdraw in the direction of coordinates xxxx..."
