While patrolling, Forerunner didn't forget to check the Washington D.C. map stored in his Core in advance to find specific information about the place that seemed to be a museum where he was currently located.

Soon, he found his current position from the stored data.

"The United States National Air and Space Museum?"

Forerunner was puzzled because, due to the extensive preparation beforehand, he could find corresponding information about almost all the buildings in Washington D.C. in his Core, including the "United States National Air and Space Museum."

The "United States National Air and Space Museum," also known as the "National Air and Space Museum," is one of the sixteen museums under the Smithsonian Institution, and it is the largest joint museum in the United States and the world.

However, what puzzled Forerunner was why his master would give him the coordinates of a museum and ask him to come and investigate without providing specific details.

If it was like before, for the purpose of stealing some United States military technology, it would be more appropriate to directly dispatch him or other Decepticons to invade secret research centers or corporate laboratories in the United States.

From the information he collected, the "Smithsonian Museum" did have its own research center, but the research topics were mainly related to cultural relics and historical preservation.

Although the "United States National Air and Space Museum" where he was currently located had a considerable number of retired United States military aircraft, most of them were retired fighter jets donated by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and NATO allies. Their internal structures and electronic devices were mostly intact but not comparable to the active fighter jets in military service.

In Forerunner's opinion, if his master wanted to gather data on more human military aircraft-related technology, it would be much more suitable to send them directly to infiltrate a military base or manufacturing facility rather than coming here.

An slightly overweight security guard approached Forerunner while he was still pondering. The guard was holding a flashlight as it was time for the routine inspection before closing the "United States National Air and Space Museum."

Forerunner controlled his mechanical body and remained motionless in place.

After all, this was the capital of the United States, and having learned Sun Cheng's cautious nature, he was acting even more carefully after obtaining the information about several Autobots stationed in Washington D.C.

Fortunately, he had an optical stealth device, which was currently activated.

This technology originally came from an alien civilization of hunters. After Atlas improved it with some Cybertron technology, the occasional water-like refractive patterns had greatly reduced their frequency and significantly improved their invisibility.

So, even if the museum security happened to pass by him during the patrol, he had nothing to worry about. Unless they had been keeping a close eye on his location from the beginning, most people, even if they caught a glimpse of an unusual shimmer out of the corner of their eyes, would probably just assume it was their own eyes playing tricks or some dust floating around.

As expected, the chubby security guard didn't notice the massive invisible presence standing just a few meters away from his patrol route.

As usual, the guard casually patrolled the area he was responsible for, making sure there were no visitors or potential thieves attempting to steal something from the museum. After confirming that the surroundings were clear of outsiders, the guard hummed a tune and returned to the security room from the other side.

After confirming that there were no outsiders around, Forerunner began to focus on controlling the all-terrain reconnaissance vehicle he had released earlier. He used it to search for the strange object or item that his master had instructed him to find, which could be hidden anywhere in the museum.

This task was actually quite troublesome!

After all, the "United States National Air and Space Museum" he came to, while considered one of the museums in the "Smithsonian Museum's" sixteen districts, had the fewest exhibits in terms of quantity, but the largest exhibits in terms of shape. There were twenty-four exhibition halls, covering an exhibition area of approximately 18,000 square meters.

The museum housed hundreds of retired aircraft and spacecraft, as well as thousands of items of historical significance from the United States and Europe's aviation history, including various rockets, missiles, and objects used by famous pilots and astronauts.

Furthermore, he didn't know what the target of his mission was specifically. Was it a certain exhibit in the museum or a pattern or symbol inside the museum?

Therefore, the difficulty of the search was imaginable.

Forerunner quickly realized this, so after releasing the other three all-terrain reconnaissance vehicles, he began to control the four vehicles to search the more than twenty exhibition halls one by one, looking for the item that was likely very important to his master, or the pattern or symbol.

This search took three to four hours.

As the sky gradually darkened, impatience was inevitable, but he was much more rational than other Decepticons.

Thus, although he was getting a bit impatient, Forerunner continued to control the four reconnaissance vehicles, avoiding the patrolling security guards in the museum and ignoring the surveillance cameras he had already detected. He entered a very large exhibition hall and began a thorough search.

This exhibition hall was actually the closest to the open exhibition area where Forerunner was hiding.

The reason why he didn't start searching from here before was that there were two other adjacent exhibition halls here, which were the star exhibitions of the entire museum. They showcased hundreds of retired fighter jets from the United States military, as well as some European fighter jets donated by United States allies, and even former Soviet military aircraft.

As a result, the security guards in the museum paid extra attention to these three nearby exhibition halls.

To avoid attracting the attention of humans due to the sudden appearance of all-terrain reconnaissance vehicles, Forerunner had chosen to start searching from the farthest and most remote exhibition halls and left these three main halls for last.

The reconnaissance vehicle quickly flew into the exhibition hall, getting close to one of the legendary high-altitude reconnaissance planes that had once served in the United States military - the Black Bird. When it almost touched the belly of the Black Bird, a scan was performed almost unconsciously, recording a special symbol and quickly feeding it back to Forerunner's Core.

Decepticon!
