The Hunter is Here!

As soon as the heavy machine gunner Bulian's screams rang out, coupled with the vibration warning of revenge in his arms, Sun Cheng immediately realized that it was the "Ghost Hunter" they had just mentioned.

Major Dutch and his team reacted even faster than Sun Cheng. Their gaze shifted to the entrance, where Bulian, the heavy machine gunner, lay on the ground. His lifeless body blocked the half-closed door, revealing a gruesome sight. His neck had been brutally cut by an unknown weapon, and blood was gushing out.

"No..."

Black Sergeant Mike glanced briefly at Bulian, his eyes filled with fury and despair. He raised his heavy machine gun and charged towards the entrance.

Major Dutch, however, acted even quicker. He swiftly pulled out a concussion grenade, ran to Dr. Settler's side, and forcefully pulled her back. Then, with a single kick, he pushed open the other half of the restaurant's door and hurled the concussion grenade towards Bulian's direction!

"Boom!"

An explosion immediately reverberated, and the Native American warrior Billy agilely dashed to Bulian's side. With a powerful grip on Bulian's right leg, he forcefully yanked him back, visibly straining his muscles and dragging him into the restaurant.

"Quick, stop the bleeding..."

Finally, Mike, carrying a heavy machine gun weighing dozens of kilograms, reached the entrance of the restaurant. His gaze briefly lingered on Bulian before tearfully shouting at Bing and Hawkins behind him.

In a fit of rage, Mike abandoned his machine gun and stormed out of the restaurant, relentlessly spraying gunfire towards the other side.

"Da da da da da da..."

"Whoosh... Boom..."

Billy followed closely behind. Outside the restaurant's entrance, Major Dutch, Mike, and Billy formed a formidable firing line. With a heavy machine gun, an M4A1 rifle, and a grenade launcher, their furious barrage of bullets could easily suppress an entire platoon on the battlefield.

Unfortunately, their adversaries were not human!

"Cease fire..."

After launching another grenade and emptying his pistol, Major Dutch fired a shot and realized he had run out of ammunition. He glanced to the side and noticed that Mike, the heavy machine gunner, had also depleted his rounds. Mike, however, seemed oblivious, his eyes filled with vengeful hatred as he mindlessly pressed the trigger of his empty machine gun. Major Dutch had to shout at him, jolting him back to reality.

"Billy..."

Major Dutch signaled to Billy with his eyes, and the two swiftly changed their magazines. They cautiously advanced, carefully assessing the situation ahead.

Meanwhile, Black Sergeant Mike discarded the machine gun and entered the restaurant. He knelt beside Bulian, his tears flowing freely.

Signalman Bing, equally overcome with sorrow, patted Mike's shoulder and pulled out a white handkerchief from his pocket, gently covering Bulian's face.

Bulian had been fatally wounded by a sharp blade that had sliced through his neck. By the time they had retrieved him, he had already succumbed to death.

Sun Cheng leaned over to examine the wound and quickly deduced that it was caused by the hunter's disc dart.

Dr. Settler, a tough woman, despite being startled and not fully understanding the situation, approached Sun Cheng, the only familiar face, and asked, "Sir, what happened here?"

Sun Cheng could tell from her unclear muttering that Dr. Settler hadn't remembered his name, just like he hadn't remembered hers. Nonetheless, he was curious about what she had experienced, so he didn't mind. He simply pulled her aside and whispered, "About two hours ago, the security system at the villa suddenly shut down. Realizing something was wrong, I decided to come to the research center to find out what was happening. On my way, I encountered them and followed them here..."

Pausing for a moment, he glanced at Dillon, who had already noticed their hushed conversation. Sun Cheng decided to continue, "I'm not sure who they are, but it seems something has gone wrong at the research center. When we arrived, we saw many dead bodies... What about you? Why didn't you see Dr. Grant?"

"Oh, my God!"

Clearly frightened by the mention of numerous corpses, Dr. Settler covered her face and mouth for a while before responding with a trembling voice, "I wasn't with Alan... In the afternoon, I discovered some sick dinosaurs on the island. While I was trying to help them, it started raining... I intended to contact the research center and have someone pick me up, but there was no signal at all. I had to walk back... My God, we were attacked by a Dilophosaurus, Mr. Edel died, and Ferretti fell into a ravine while trying to escape. I came back to find someone to help him..."

Just as Sun Cheng suspected!

His heart sank. He recalled Dr. Grant mentioning earlier that Dilophosaurus was a solitary carnivorous dinosaur that could spit venom to catch its prey.

Glancing at the woman before him, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy for her stroke of luck. If Dilophosaurus were a pack-hunting dinosaur, encountering one more would have surely spelled her doom!

"Oh my god, Alan hasn't returned yet. Is he and the children in danger?"

"Good Lord, what happened on the island? Where's Hammond?"

After exchanging a few brief words and sharing the information they knew, Sun Cheng was satisfied. However, Dr. Seibert broke down completely after hearing too much bad news. She immediately crouched down and burst into tears.

Sun Cheng, not adept at comforting others, uttered a couple of consoling sentences, but seeing no improvement, he decided to leave her be. He turned his attention back to Bin and Hawkins, who were standing guard near the entrance.

Outside the restaurant, the sound of approaching footsteps grew louder.

Observing the two of them relax their guard and approach, Sun Cheng immediately understood that it must be Major Dutch and the others returning.

As expected, Hawkins soon inquired, "Major, what's the situation?"

"We found nothing, no traces, no blood, no bodies. We didn't encounter anything..."

With a grim expression, Major Dutch pushed open the door and entered the restaurant. He spoke to Dillon in a cold tone, "Dillon, you'd better contact the base yourself and explain the situation to the general..."

"Alright..."

Dillon had initially wanted to say something more, but upon seeing Major Dutch's somber face, he refrained from speaking further. He nodded and headed toward the satellite communicator.

"Mike..."

Major Dutch shouted, but the black sergeant ignored him.

He had to shout again, and only then did Mike stand up and respond. He commanded, "You, Hawkins, Billy, and Bin, prepare some explosives and set up traps on the first floor. We will investigate the research center thoroughly later and then retreat to the fifth floor to wait for rescue!"

When the words "wait for rescue" came out of the mouth of their self-proclaimed best rescue team, everyone's hearts sank. They knew that their once unwavering and commanding leader was now completely afraid.

"Yes!"

After Mike acknowledged, he was about to lead the others to set up traps when suddenly, another sharp roar came from outside the restaurant. Sun Cheng and the others immediately changed their expressions. They were not unfamiliar with this sound—it was the Velociraptor they had encountered not long ago!
