"Velociraptors?! They're everywhere!"

Major Dutch's expression grew darker. After exchanging glances with Billy, Hawkins, and Bing, the four of them quickly attached grenade launchers to their weapons and cautiously walked out of the restaurant, heading towards the hallway where the sound originated.

Following suit, Dillon and Mike also grabbed their weapons. Seeing this, Sun Cheng reluctantly pulled Dr. Lasettler and prepared to follow as well.

"Something's not right!" Billy was the first to notice something strange and whispered, "This sound sounds more like a threat..."

Major Dutch's gaze shifted, neither nodding nor answering him.

They proceeded with caution, moving slowly. As they carefully walked out of the corridor, they could see the lobby on the first floor of the research center not far ahead. Once they had a clear view of the situation inside, the expressions on their faces changed simultaneously.

Inside the lobby on the first floor, near the Tyrannosaurus rex fossils displayed by the International Genetic Technology Corporation, the corpses of two velociraptors were strikingly visible.

One of the velociraptors had its neck cleanly severed. Judging by the wound, it appeared to have been cut off by a very sharp blade, much like the gallimimus earlier in the afternoon.

The other velociraptor didn't fare much better. In addition to several wounds that pierced its scales, the most horrifying was a massive blood hole on one side of its body. Foul-smelling blood gushed out like a fountain, forming a pool of blood beside the corpse.

At the entrance of the research center, three velociraptors paced restlessly, displaying a cautious and vigilant demeanor. One of the velociraptors had only one intact eye.

Just as Billy was about to raise his weapon and open fire, Major Dutch reached out to stop him. He noticed that the velociraptors' attention was not focused on them. Instead, they all raised their heads under the leadership of the most robust one, growling menacingly and baring their teeth in a threatening manner towards a certain spot above. The look in their eyes was filled with murderous intent and malice, sending chills down one's spine.

Major Dutch followed their gaze, scanning the air, but found nothing.

Curiosity piqued, he didn't expect the three velociraptors to suddenly turn their heads and lock eyes with them. They displayed expressions of deep-seated hatred.

The group tightened their grip on their weapons, ready to react. However, the lead velociraptor roared once more and, followed by the other two, retreated from the research center building, quickly vanishing into the darkness of the night.

"Hmm!"

Dr. Settler, who had finally snapped out of it, let out a sigh of relief. She curiously remarked, "It's strange. Although velociraptors are small dinosaurs, they are vicious and agile. They also act in groups. Even millions of years ago, they had few natural predators. Could it be that the Tyrannosaurus rex on the island has also escaped?"

"A T-Rex wouldn't use weapons..."

Major Dutch raised his head, gazing into the air, and replied coldly, "There's something else here, a more dangerous enemy... It can effortlessly hunt down velociraptors, including us!"

His words rang true, apparent to anyone with discernment. Those velociraptors they encountered not long ago were definitely tracking them down, seeking revenge.

These vengeful and cunning velociraptors had previously suffered losses. They had traced their scent all the way to the research center, clearly with no intention of revealing themselves unless they were attacked first or detected another target.

And from the first roar of the dinosaur just now to the moment they walked from the restaurant, it took at most a little over a minute.

In such a short period of time, the battle between several velociraptors and an unknown opponent had already ended. One velociraptor had its head chopped off, while another bled to death from being pierced through the body by a sharp blade. The fighting power of that unknown opponent was evident.

Sun Cheng concealed himself among the crowd, his eyes flickering slightly.

Without much thought, he had already guessed who the opponent was, but he didn't imply it.

Just explaining that alone was a big problem, and the sudden appearance of soldiers like Major Dutch on the island also made him extremely wary.

A group of individuals resembling special forces suddenly appeared on a private island, leaving him no choice but to speculate further.

After looking up for quite a while, he couldn't find anything suspicious. Major Dutch furrowed his brows, then withdrew his gaze, and quietly ordered Black Sergeant Mike, "Those beasts might come back, Mike, set up a few proximity mines as traps at the entrance..."

Sun Cheng and Settler heard his words clearly. Sun Cheng was fine, his eyes simply flickered without saying much. However, Dr. Settler wore an expression of disbelief, waving her hands and loudly protesting against Major Dutch, "No, you can't do that, they will harm people!"

"Ma'am, do you believe there are any humans alive on this island other than us?"

Major Dutch cast a cold glance at her, his icy and penetrating gaze actually frightened the tough woman, causing her to tremble slightly as she shrank back, not daring to argue further.

Immediately, he made eye contact with Mike once again, and after receiving a nod, Mike carefully retrieved a few proximity mines from his backpack and swiftly positioned them near the entrance of the research center.

Scout Billy had been moving around the hall since earlier, seemingly attempting to find some clues left behind by the Velociraptor's battle with the unknown opponent.

His observations were meticulous, and after examining the hall for a while, he actually found something.

"Major..."

Upon hearing Billy's call, Major Dutch, along with Sun Cheng and the others, instinctively walked towards him. Soon, everyone saw Billy squatting in front of a puddle of grass-green liquid.

"What is it?"

Major Dutch asked, "Paint?"

Without saying a word, Billy gave up his spot and gestured for him to take a look.

Major Dutch knelt down and sniffed, immediately detecting a pungent odor.

His expression changed slightly as he quickly extended a finger, lightly touching the grass-green liquid to assess its viscosity. Suppressing the stench, he leaned in for a closer sniff, "Blood?"

Common knowledge told him that this couldn't possibly be human or animal blood. However, the viscosity and scent perfectly matched the blood characteristics familiar to Major Dutch.

Filled with astonishment, he looked up at Billy, his eyes now tinged with fear.

Only at this moment did Major Dutch finally realize that, apart from the dinosaurs, they might have become the prey of another even more mysterious and formidable creature!

"Everyone, stay alert, and maintain a distance of no more than three steps between each other..."

Rising from the ground, Major Dutch wiped the foul-smelling grass-green blood off his hands onto his pants before issuing the order once more, "There is an extremely dangerous creature hiding in this building. We need to thoroughly search the entire structure to ensure our safety!"

Having spoken, he took the lead, raising his weapon and advancing towards the interior of the building.
