"There was a battle here..."

Billy searched through the office, which had a fishy smell, for a while. His palm was already filled with cartridges. "NATO standard 5.56mm rifle rounds..."

Major Dutch picked up a cartridge from Billy's hand and examined its specifications.

"Something's strange here!" Billy continued.

Major Dutch looked up at him. "Did you find anything else?"

"It's very strange!"

Billy walked to a spot in the office and pointed to several rows of bullet holes on the wall. "These shots left very scattered bullet holes. It seems like aimless shooting took place here..."

"Hmm?"

"Here... here... and here are the same. There was a battle here, but these people seem to have lost their minds and shot everywhere without discrimination!"

He turned around and approached the three bodies that were pinned to the wall. Surprisingly, it wasn't too disgusting for him. He pulled his saber from one of the bodies and pointed at the wounds. "The wounds are all in the heart. It looks like they were directly pierced by some cold weapon and died instantly..."

Major Dutch vaguely understood the meaning of his words, but there were still some parts he didn't grasp. He decided to ask directly, "What do you mean?"

"Besides the dinosaurs, there are other dangerous things present on the island. They may not devour us like the dinosaurs, but I fear they want our lives just as much..."

Billy replied firmly, waving the saber in his hand a few times, displaying a leap of faith in his expression.

The bodies in the office were quickly counted. There were a total of twenty-three adult male corpses. However, since their heads were severed and their skin removed, Sun Cheng, even with his decent memory, couldn't determine how many of them were security personnel from the island and how many belonged to the staff of the international genetic technology company.

The company's main business is to provide a wide range of products and services to the public.

"The second floor search is complete. No one was found!"

"The third floor is confirmed. No one..."

"The fourth floor windows are intact. All rooms have been checked. Nothing!"

"No one on the fifth floor..."

After spending ten minutes carefully searching from the first floor to the fifth floor and finding no survivors or suspicious traces, Major Dutch and his team returned to the first floor.

"Is that everyone on the island?"

Major Dutch toyed with a broken M16, his face as grim as iron.

The M16 was discovered somewhere on the first floor of the research center. It was evident to him that it had been severed by someone using a sharp weapon when they resisted forcefully.

"Impossible. There are at least twenty security personnel still on the island alone..."

Sun Cheng shook his head and refuted his words, his face growing increasingly agitated.

Since entering the research center, the device in his arms had been continuously vibrating. In just half an hour, it had reminded him over 20 times, nearly once every minute. It was clear that it had detected something challenging, but Sun Cheng was always by someone's side and couldn't find the time to ask it any questions.

However, Major Dutch and his team didn't think much of his abnormal behavior. They had witnessed a living nightmare, and as seasoned veterans, they themselves were still far from calm. They couldn't expect an ordinary man to remain composed in their eyes.

"Dutch, let's all go grab something to eat first!"

The black soldier, Dillon, raised his gun and left the office. He didn't hide his actions, and everyone saw him searching the office for information, particularly interested in International Genetic Technology's cloning and genetic modification technology.

Major Dutch pondered for a moment before nodding slowly. "Hawkins, Harlan, you two go to the kitchen and bring some food here. Also, grab two bottles of wine. Bing, try to contact the base."

They had identified the location of the kitchen during their tour of the research center. As Sun Cheng had described, it not only contained a large amount of frozen raw food in the freezer but also a considerable supply of pre-cooked meals.

"Okay, Major!"

Harlan and Hawkins both responded and quickly headed towards the kitchen with their weapons, ready to bring back some food.

As for the communications soldier, Bin, after receiving his orders, he took out the satellite communication device and attempted to contact the outside world.

"Dillon, we need to have a serious talk!"

Major Dutch glanced briefly at Sun Cheng, who was not far away, making his intention crystal clear.

Sun Cheng was just troubled by the inability to temporarily separate from the group of soldiers. Upon seeing this, he couldn't help but feel delighted, and the anxiety on his face disappeared instantly. "I'll go to the restroom!"

After saying that, Sun Cheng turned around and headed towards the nearby restroom.

Once inside the restroom, after ensuring that no one was following him, Sun Cheng quickly pushed open a small partition and sat down on the toilet seat. He impatiently took off the revenge hanging from his neck and asked, "What's the situation? It's been vibrating continuously since a while ago..."

"In addition to the cloaked unit we previously detected, after entering this building, I once again detected another unit using 'optical cloaking.' It is currently lurking inside this building and moving towards the first floor. Furthermore, I just received a communication from Safeguard. It has obtained what you ordered!"

Safeguard initiated contact with Revenge and has acquired what Sun Cheng requested. This was indeed good news for him.

However, as soon as a shred of excitement arose, Sun Cheng's elation was immediately shattered upon learning from Revenge about the existence of another invisible person!

"There's another invisible person!"

His heart sank involuntarily. When they encountered the first invisible person using optical cloaking in the hills, their team only suffered one casualty. Additionally, Revenge confirmed his ability to counter-kill the target, so Sun Cheng didn't hold much fear towards these invisible individuals at that time.

However, based on the analysis of the Native American warrior, Billy, the gruesome incident that occurred in the research center was most likely the work of these invisible people.

As thoughts of the haunting images of decapitated and skinned corpses persisted in Sun Cheng's mind, an unsettling feeling weighed heavily on his chest, but he had already developed the intention to eliminate them.

"Where is Safeguard now? Can you establish contact with it?"

"It is currently in the underground control center, copying data. Furthermore, based on the data it just provided, there are several survivors down there, including Ada Wong. Do you want me to summon it over?"

"The basement?"

Suddenly, Sun Cheng realized. When he was in the office, he had seen dozens of brutally mutilated corpses, and he had genuinely believed that everyone else in the research center had managed to escape. So, despite being aware of the two additional underground levels, he hadn't given it much thought.

He never expected that people had actually taken refuge in the basement.

While contemplating whether to summon Safeguard for discreet protection, Revenge, who was lying on his lap, suddenly wriggled and transformed back into his Decepticon form. Swiftly, he aimed a slender alloy needle towards a spot above the partition.

Sun Cheng was momentarily stunned and instinctively looked up at the indicated location. He was immediately overcome with fear, his legs trembling, barely suppressing a scream.

"Squeak!"

Above the partition, accompanied by eerie electromagnetic fluctuations, a grotesque, towering humanoid monster materialized out of thin air and swiftly plummeted down.
