A bonus mp3 backing track is attached for all Patreons to play along with the song as well

Today we are going to learn how to play Mr. Tambourine man by Bob Dylan. This is a full ukulele tutorial meaning we will break down the intro/outro riff, all the chords and strum patterns and a full complete breakdown of the melody of the song as well. That way you can play it as an instrumental with a friend, arrange a fingerstyle chord melody version, or just use the melody to sharpen your skills. The melody is fairly basic and uses the F major scale, the same scale that is used in the introduction. The only really tricky part for true beginners is the Bb chord. I consider the key of F to be an advanced beginner key, it is full of beginner chords and uses an easy scale but the Bb can be challenging.

We are doing a #BobDylanChallenge in our facebook group 10 Thumbs Challenges if you want to check it out come to the group and leave your cover!

Will improve

  • Bb chord
  • Playing a melody with the F major scale
  • Playing at a medium paced BPM - 120 BPM
  • Playing verses and choruses with non-conventional measure amounts
