Getting Bluesy. Today we are going to break down a flashy and fun Delta Blues in A that is full of fun fingerpicking, 6 chords and flashy triplet fills. This one is a ton of fun to play and I had a blast putting it together. It is based of some really old school ragtime influenced 12 bar blues that also use a lot of triads and not just the 7 chords. The basic double stops always bounce around with 6 chord extensions and really cool style rhythm, you will love playing this as much as I loved putting it together. When you are playing these old rag time style pieces you can use the root note to imply the entire chord, so you can play the A note to imply the A chord, the D note to imply the D chord, this comes from old school rag time mixed with the style of Texas blues that Lightnin' Hopkins used to play.

Will Improve

  • Root note chords
  • 6th chord extensions
  • Fingerpicking with motion
  • Triplet fills
  • Double stops
  • Mixing rhythms
  • Chromatic movements.
