Don’t know if you noticed that the Movellans were in the first episode of Season 10, when the Doctor is trying to lose the Water/pilot/heather with Bill and they go to the Dalek ship to see if it will follow them to somewhere dangerous. We see the Daleks fighting the Movellans.

I think the previous Romana just thought there was nothing more to do with the character, although there are rumours she was not asked to return due to pregnancy. She did return to the role on audio, however, until she sadly passed on.
