Tom Baker's broody performance in this one is very much his real life unhappiness at producer Phillip Hinchcliffe being fired, which luckily fits perfectly with the story and makes it even creepier how the claustrophobia seems to be making the Doctor lose his mind. It was also the last story directed by Paddy Russell, who was very disappointed in the way Terrence Dicks' script was rewritten and had to deal with both Baker and Louise Jameson being on some of their worst behavior due to the production challenges.

So I was on YouTube watching some reactions to Tim Minchin songs late last night ... By the way, that was my gateway drug to getting addicted to watching TV show reactions. A few years ago after viewing a Tim Minchin song reaction, I wondered whether anyone had made any Doctor Who reactions and I discovered an edited reaction series by a nice, friendly woman who, interestingly, had only included the episode's audio - which made it really good fun to try to keep mentally in sync with the episode. Um, ... I'm still here. Hi, there! [waves] ... Anyway, I was about to close down for the night when my Patreon app went ping and your "Horror of Fang Rock" full length dropped. That never happens to me - they normally get released around 3am my time - so I was able to enjoy it hot off the press. Lovely. Isn't Leela fantastic! Just generally throughout these episodes, but the the bit I find adorable is when she is left in the lamp room because someone has to manage the foghorn. Her grumpiness changes to a delight in using the foghorn control and then the next time we see her she's just bored with it all. Thanks for the reaction.
