The robots' eyes were one of the earliest uses of CGI for TV, and it still holds up pretty well, of course aided a lot by how it's deliberately supposed to be creepily artificial. In fact, all the visual effects here are quite a bit better than usual for the series, and you could almost mistake this for an episode of the revival series if it wasn't for the camerawork.

Are they even considered CGI? They don't really look any different to other effects used recently, just some tape where they project an image over it. I guess blue/green screen but then they've been doing that for a long time with screens and backdrops
