looool you were right on the money about how the fandom blew up over this at the time. And the comments might very well turn into a mess, but I did just want to say... for MY money, it's not even so much about Sam or Dean or that whole story arc with Emma, but more about how the showrunner Sera Gamble turned this into this weird, petty, tit-for-tat thing between the brothers. "Oh, you killed my neko friend? Well then I kill your magical pregnancy kid!" Like - how freaking juvenile and stupid can you get? smdh

Especially since right in the middle of it, they were both perfectly fine letting Spike and Anya go to inevitably continue killing people in horrible ways during their next marital spat.

Honestly, I would´ve loved it if Emma really wanted to leave the cult and became a recurring character... Imagine that... Deans amazonian hunter-daughter! :D

Yeah, like, of everything, that's what frustrated me the most - like it or not, that was Dean's biological child and Sam just killed her right in front of him. WHAT A WASTE of such a fascinating new character! Because, like you said - what IF she was having second thoughts? It's very possible, but it's not like Sam gave her much of a chance xp

That would've been a much more interesting storyline, than how they ended it. Emma does not equal Amy IMO, as Emma 1) hadn't killed anyone (yet?) and 2) she was Dean's daughter and Sam's niece. Almost like we could've been given a second chance at a Ben, and a supernatural one at that. Think how she could've helped. Or possible conflict of interest story with the Amazons down the road.

I really liked the way Sam didn't hesitate and shot that girl right in the heart. People might say it was tit for tat, but for me it was she was going to kill Dean. Nobody was going to talk her out of it. And Dean didn't have to because Sam did it. Like Dean needed something like that to live with right now. He's really messed up about Bobby and I don't like to think what would have happened to him mentally to replay that trauma. Sam is not the type of person that would take any kind of pleasure like that form killing either As for the "fandom" they pretty much b***h about everything, so I never care what they think

Second thoughts? She changed up her whole personality when Sam showed up “oh poor me don’t let him kill me” when seconds ago she was ready to kill Dean, of course it was hard for dean but she still had to go.

I think Emma could have been interesting, but yeah I think in reality she had to go. What bugs me is Sam being a bitch about it afterwards. That was the moment to try for some empathy, since he knows that Dean is going through it, but instead he tries to make him feel worse. Emma hadn't killed anyone. Amy went on a flippin murder spree. Not the same thing. I just feel like Sam acts all holier than thou and judgy, until he's the one who screws up and suddenly the rules don't apply to him. Dean did a bad thing for a good reason, and had the decency to feel bad about it. Sam does a bad thing for a good reason and then starts tearing Dean down after watching him day drink all episode. Ugh. Sorry, this season and next season I have rants about Sam. Sometimes they can't be contained. No offense to any Sam fans <3
