((Y/N)'s POV)

I was stuck in a locked bedroom and inside a force field by some lady in a robe who was friends with a monster. I tried to get out of here, but this force field would not move at all and when I tried to kick it, I just hurt my foot. Nothing was working and I could not do anything, so I just sat in one spot and waited for something... Thinking about it in a dead silent room somehow made it worse. The door opened and that's when the lady in the dark robe and makeup or something walked in and she looked tired when she looked at me.

???-*Sigh* You. I want you to tell me what Edaline wanted with you and in return I will bring you back to your human world.

(Y/N)-Um... I don't... know that much. She just liked me, I guess

???-... You know what? I would not put it past her to do something like that... I am going to go check on her and afterward, you are coming with me to leave this world. You are not coming back either.

(Y/N)-Wait!... What about Eda? Is she still that monster?

???-My sister is of no concern to you. Now, I am going to rest for a bit before I leave, so I would like it to be quiet.

She got in her bed to read a book, but I didn't like her so I hit the force field before turning away from her.

(Luz's POV)

I started to wake up and I remembered everything that happened. I expected to be in at least a little physical pain, but... I felt good. Great even. That was until I got up and saw King had a bandage on his arm and playing with a tilting ball maze.

<figure></figure>

Luz-King?

King-Hold on! I almost got this.

Luz-Where's Eda and (Y/N)?

King-Oh, last I saw her, I saw her wrecking her home and when I woke up, another human was whipping you with a rag. She even gave me this thing. I don't know about (Y/N) though. Probably with Eda if he's not here.

Luz-What?!

He kept on focusing on the maze while I got up and ran out to the living room to see my mom in Eda's clothes and Willow and Amity were here with her.

<figure></figure><figure></figure><figure></figure>

Luz-Mom, where's (Y/N)?!... And why are you wearing Eda's clothes?

Mom-My work clothes got covered in a bit of blood and... I didn't know what blue blood here would do. I was just talking to your friends about the ladies who took (Y/N) and Eda with them.

Amity-It was my mentor, Lilith with another high-ranking witch named Kikimora. Which means they are in the capital.

Luz-Then why are we still here?!

Willow-We can't just break into the capital! We need a plan... and just got one.

Luz-What plan?

(Lilith's POV)

I was in the middle of wrapping up the last chapter of my book before I go see how my sister is doing in recovery, but then I got a call on my scroll from my prodigy. I thought twice about answering it, but I thought a quick talk could not hurt. I just stepped out into the hall to leave the human be and not chance him interrupting me.

Lilith-Hello.

Amity-Hello, ma'am. I wanted to know if I could have a few new lessons today.

Lilith-I am... very busy today. We will schedule another day.

Amity-Wait, it's another duel!... I got challenged and they are really advanced, so I need help. Please. I can have a carrier bring me over and we could train in the yard... I know I will lose without your help.

Lilith-... *Sigh* I will try to wrap up what I can.

I hung up and went back to check on the human boy and I finally noticed how depressed he looked.

<figure></figure>

I walked up to him and released him before he looked up at me with a bit of fear. I never implied I was going to hurt him, but when I picked him up, his sweet smell hit me again. I kept my composure and tried to ignore it.

Lilith-It seems like I am going to keep a closer eye on you than I thought. I will allow you to roam my room while I am out, but just know that I will be told if a guard spots you.

His smell was becoming stronger when I resisted it, so I let him go and left my room to put the same spell on my door. This feeling was rather annoying, so I thought allowing him more freedom would settle a guilty subconscious. It just got harder and harder to ignore when I walked away to my room and saw Kikimora with my sister.

<figure></figure><figure></figure>

Lilith-What are you doing here? My sister should be seeing healers soon.

Kikimora-I came to see what this beast could have done to me. The headaches, the irritation, and my patience is running thin all from that human boy.

When she said that, I felt something like a sharp pain run through my heart.

Kikimora-I have no idea why I am even thinking of such a lowly, pathetic, and disgusting creature.

It felt like another stab and the monster of my sister was getting mad and lashing at her... My patience was already gone from just leaving him in my room. My body started to move by itself now until I gave into my thoughts and emotions. She was going on about the human until I put my foot on her back by surprise to push her to my sister.

*CHOMP*

Kikimora-AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

That's when I snapped out of it and thought about what I just did. Kikimora was being ripped apart right in front of me, so I quickly made a small portal in a panic to go to a destination close by that I could get to and away from the scene.

Lilith-What do I just do?!

???-What?

Lilith-Ahhh!

I quickly turned to see the human boy again and realized I was back in my room.

<figure></figure>

Lilith-N-Nothing!... How about we formerly introduce ourselves?

I felt so nervous, but my nerves were going down quickly at the sight of him. When I was calmed down for the most part, I learned that his name was (Y/N) and he said I looked scared or something. I of course denied it, but he didn't believe me, so he pushed me a little to sit down.

Lilith's mind-Why do his little hands feel so adorable?!

I was on my bed and while he tried to calm me down, I thought about what I did to Kikimora, but the worst part was... I was quickly moving on. Just then a guard rushed in, so I jumped a little.

Guard-Pardon the sudden entrance, but we were informed that the beast has deceased Kikimora.

Lilith-O-Oh, the emperor's advisor. What happened?

Guard-It looks like she got too close to the wild beast you two brought in.

lilith-Well... Inform Belos at once and expect my student to visit soon for a training session. I need a moment with this prisoner.

He bowed before leaving and that's when I saw that (Y/N) was scared and it broke my heart a little.

(Y/N)-Did... Eda hurt someone?

Lilith-Um... Sh-She will get better. That beast is not my sister... Just... Um... Hold still.

I picked him up to hold him like Mother and Father would to comfort me and... This made my nerves melt away. It was like he was a warm bundle of happiness to make me feel better.

Lilith's mind-Oh Edaline. No wonder you liked this human. He serves a great purpose to reduce stress.

I thought about how stressful my job can get and that I almost always come back to my room miserable and exhausted from the day. The thought of him waiting for me made that all feel better.

Lilith-Hmmmm... (Y/N)... You said you were an orphan, right?... How would you like a job here?

(Amity's POV)

I had the staff at my home load a big box onto the ship that I will be taking with me to the capital for 'training'... I just hope the holes I put in give those 3 enough air. When they loaded it up, I did the secret knock on the box when nobody was looking. Someone gave it back which meant that everything was fine.

Amity-*Sigh*.

???-Amity.

I turned around to see my mother and she looked curious about the box behind me. i can't let her open it or know who is inside.

<figure></figure>

Mom-Where do you think you are going?

Amity-To the capital... To train with my mentor.

Mom-Oh, in that case, go right on ahead. I will tell the staff to let you be there for a few hours at the very most before you return home. I have a few inventions I need to be tested for combat.

If matters weren't already bad, now we are timed and have to come straight back here with my mom waiting for us. We took off and I had no idea what we were going to do to get past her without her knowing.
