(Rivet's POV)

Kit was with me in a boarding room in this place and (Y/N) was so happy to see me again. I had my tail under his chin while his head was in my lap with him looking up at me. I felt so much better and he was just as cuddly and sweet as I remembered. He stroked and played with my tail while I played with his hair and cheeks. Kit looked at us like she was curious about our bond and that's when (Y/N) looked at her and cutely waved. I'm so glad him being kidnapped did not ruin his bubbly and innocent personality.

Kit-You seem to be very good with him.

Rivet-He's just the sweetest thing ever. ~

(Y/N)-*Giggles*.

(Kit's POV)

He really seems to love playing with and hugging Rivet's tail, but she's also ok with it. I assume this is an adoptive relationship between the two and (Y/N) does seem to be very affectionate, compassionate, and overall very simple in the things he wants. As much as I hate to break up this moment between mother and son, there is an issue I want to discuss with Rivet while nobody else is here.

Kit-Rivet, I think we should discuss matters about that power that we saw. It-.

Just then the door opened and two people walked in, so I stopped talking about it since I wanted to discover more first.

They both walked over and had a seat before (Y/N) turned over to them while lying in Rivet's lap Angela waved at him a little which shows a fairly good connection between the both of them, but that is not much of a surprise since he is quite friendly.

Sasha-Hello, I came here to have a talk with the two of you, so if Angela may take (Y/N) out of the-.

Rivet-He's fine with me!... I mean, I just got him back and I want to keep a close eye on him... Ma'am.

We were all taken aback by her sudden outburst, but it is understandable that a mother who just got reunited with her child will not want to let them out of her sight.

Kit-If we could perhaps discuss non-confidental information. Rivet would prefer to keep (Y/N) at her side.

Sasha-It's actually related to him.

Rivet-Hold on.

She reached into her pocket for two earpieces and put them in her ears before she played something to block out his hearing. This should suffice.

Sasha-Well... *Ahem* The portal that brought you here, did not match the location when we opened it again. Also, it was more contained and stable this time around. I consulted my team and they said a factor could be missing.

Could she be referring to the controller and the energy I locked onto? It couldn't affect a portal from another dimension, could it?... I need to know more and Rivet looked like she got a little defensive, so I intervened.

Kit-Excuse me, but you said that this involved Rivet's child, (Y/N). I fail to see his relation to this matter.

Sasha-He claimed to have been through a portal before, correct?

Rivet-Angela, you don't really believe he could have anything to do with that, do you?!

(Keira's POV)

Keira-I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!!

I threw my tool box at a wall in frustration from (Y/N) being gone and I can't figure out how it was done. There was no traces of any kind of portal energy that anything I gad could find and all I had to go off of was this piece of junk!

I pressed every single button, only for nothing to happen, I tried taking it apart with my tools, but it shocked me and Jak found me later on the floor when I passed out, and with everything leading me to a dead end... I had no way to find (Y/N), but this had to be something. Just then I got another call and it was from Jak. I felt so angry and frustrated when I answered that I...

Keira-What?!

Daxter-Woah, cool it! We're out here working out butts off trying to find a lead!

Keira-What lead?!

Just then, it sounded like the phone was taken from Daxter.

Jak-We're at the place where Ashelin found the kid to do a full search. We were sent out here by Ashelin.

Daxter-She was probably at that time of month again. She was really snappy.

Keira-Did you find anything?!

Jak-Well...

Daxter-There ain't squat out here for us. Just sand, metal heads, and the blazing sun.

I hung up the phone and put my head on the table before I looked at the device again. I picked it up and Thought of other things I could do to study it at least, but there was nothing I could use here. I put it in a bag and took it with me to go see Ashelin, but when I opened the door to my shop, someone jumped onto me.

Tess-Hey, it can't be true, right?! Where is he?!

(Carmelita's POV)

I looked more into this thing that was left behind when (Y/N) disappeared and I tried taking it apart, but it shocked me really bad, even a little again when I had the right gloves on. Pressing the buttons didn't shock me again, but they did nothing... Except for the start button which made the controller vibrate for a short time.

Carmelita's mind-What are you doing?

I pressed it again and again while being careful with using a stick. It only vibrated and after an hour, I went to the kitchen to make something to eat, but my ear flickered when I thought I heard something... The controller vibrates on the wooden table by itself.

Carmelita-Huh?

I walked over to the control and waited for it to do it again by itself, but nothing happened. I have no idea what is with this thing, but it was making really mad that I was not any closer to finding (Y/N).

(Kit's POV)

The controller was vibrating a lot at a certain time and at random moments, but I kept it to myself as I went to another room. To experiment with it, but with no other clear reactions, it was unclear as to how or why. When I walked back in the room, I saw Sasha and Rivet in a stand off.

Sasha-You are not equipped to keep him safe and there are questions left unanswered. He will be safer in my base.

Rivet-And I'm just supposed to trust a general I never met? Not happening

I tried to think of a way to keep them from fighting in front of (Y/N) when I noticed that both (Y/N) and Angela we both absent, so I began to worry and understood how things most likely played out. She took her child unwillingly and plans to keep him at a base. Things accelerated before she pulled out a weapon and pointed it at her.

Rivet-Your next words and action better be calling Angela to bring my baby back here!

Just then alarms started to go off and shutters on the windows came down.

Speaker-Unknown energy spotted in a restricted area. Lockdown is now in effect. All guards report to... the top floor.

That's the floor we are on. Just then the controller was vibrating in me again and then started to get really hot, so I ejected it onto the floor.

It was going crazy until...

*BOOM*

An energy field emerged and sent the three of us flying into a wall. The alarms went off and the power went out for a moment before it came back on. My backup power supply barely functioned in that moment, so my systems had to recalibrate. That's when we saw a light going around the room while the controller was still acting up.

Sasha-What is that?

It seemed to match the controller's energy, but it as... like it was excess energy or something related to that. Suddenly, it went crazy and went in circles to morph into walls like they were not even there. That's when it rushed through a wall across the room at a single point.

(Angela's POV)

I swore I would make it up to Rivet later and talk to Sasha about keeping (Y/N) in a better place besides a base where she can't be, but I can't do that if whatever shut off the alarms gets to us. Guards were rushing past me and (Y/N) looked scared from all of the chaos.

(Y/N)-What's happening?! We need to go get our friends!

Angela-It's going to be ok. We just need to get you to safety first and the guards are going to save-.

Just then a bright light came out of the wall and when we were engulfed in the ball, I could not move.

(Y/N)-A-Angela! I-I feel funny! I c-c-an't move! *breathing faster* I'm scared!

Angela-Just hold on to me!

I tried my best to move, but that's when I felt (Y/N) getting lighter when I could not even see him. It was too bright.

(Y/N)-*Sniffle* *hic* *hic*.

I could feel him trying to burying himself into me which broke my heart. When the light created a soft explosion and I could see again... (Y/N) was gone in an instant and it felt like my heart got ripped out.

Angela-... (Y/N)?

I looked around me and in the only room close by before I ran back down the hall.

Angela-SASHA!!! RIVET!!! KIT!!!

(Carmelita's POV)

This ball of light was filling the room and I swore I heard voices coming from it until it went away in a tiny explosion and the flash blinded me. It took me a moment to get my vision back since it was almost like a flashbang. Only there was no ringing in my ears and I could hear crying. When I could see again, I saw... MY BABY CURLED UP ON THE COFFEE TABLE!!!

Carmelita-(Y/N)!!!

I ran to him and he could not even turn before I picked him up and felt so relieved, but he still cried into me. His story of what happened was muffled, but I just wanted to enjoy this moment. I had my arms and tail wrapped around them in a tight grip. I finally let him go a little for him to look up at me.

Carmelita-Are you ok? Are you hurt? Where have you been? ~
