(Kanga's POV)

Mama Heffalump and I just got to the library and there was not much else to see other than a building full of books and some of it had prison bars that were fully made of metal. I had (Y/N) sleeping on the chair while I checked a few rooms while being careful not to touch anything. I found an office and noticed a weird pen on a pedestal next to a desk with ink and an empty book.

On a final look around the library, I noticed some writing on the walls. They said "Imagination is an adventure", "The pen is mightier than the sword", and "Worlds with no limitations". I went outside and saw Mama Heffalump searching the outside of the building for anything suspicious.

Kanga-Anything weird?

Mama Heffalump-This... The whole thing is rather weird.

Kanga-Anything weirder... Like magic?

Mama Heffalump-Not that I noticed. I don't even know what I am looking for to be exact.

Kanga-*Sigh*... The others will be here in the morning. Maybe they will find something we didn't.

Mama Heffalump-May I see the little one, one last time before we go back to the others?

I hopped inside and still saw (Y/N) sleeping soundly, but on the way out, I saw something in a box that I overlooked and Pooh was on it.

Kanga-Huh?

I went over to the box and took the book out before I opened it. I picked up (Y/N) and brought him outside before I held him out for Mama Heffalump to hold him in her trunk. Cradled like a baby, but her focus turned to the book I brought out.

Mama Heffalump-Is that Pooh on the book?

Kanga-It is... Let's see here.

I opened the book and started to read it, but it was mostly pictures rather than words. Even on a page, I saw...

Kanga-Me?

(Mama Heffalump's POV)

Kanga looked shocked and surprised as she read the book to herself while I held the little boy and I must say that he looks rather adorable sleeping in my trunk. I swayed him a little until I saw the grimm look on Kanga's face.

Kanga-This all happened before... Exactly like this.

I got behind her slowly to not wake up (Y/N) and saw some contents in the book.

(Red's POV)

I was shaken awake by someone and it took a moment for me to fully open my eyes. I was staring at my pillow. I yawned before I turned over to see it was Alice the did it and it was still dark outside. The others were awake too.

Red-What's going on?

Gerda-(Y/N) and Kanga are both gone!

I jolted out of the bed of blankets on the floor and stood up while looking around and Gerda looked really mad. My heart sank as I thought about what I was just told.

Red-Wh-Where did they go?!

Goldilocks-Where do you think?! I bet they went to that library! They wanted to see it all day!

Gerda-Where's the library?!

Alice-It's a bit of a walk from here, but if we hurry we might catch up in time to get (Y/N).

Red-We need to leave after! She might do it again if we are to stay!

We quickly got ready to leave and Gerda could run faster than us, but we had to show her the way to the library. I was the slowest, so Gerda held me on her shoulders and gave me the job of pointing her to the library. I started to think of how gentle and caring Kanga was, but even the thoughts of her holding and giving him kisses...

Red's mind-It really makes me mad!

((Y/N)'s POV)

When I felt something tickle my nose, I started to wake up and hear noises and voices like I was outside. I even felt like I was on something very soft, and when I opened my eyes, I saw I was outside at night with Kanga and Mama Heffalump from the book.

Mama Heffalump was holding me and I saw Kanga had their book in her hands, so I started to panic a little since I have no idea how they might react to it, and she and her friends do overreact to some things... This is already big news. Kanga saw that I was awake, so she walked up to me and showed me the book... I felt like she was my mom about to ground me or something.

Kanga-What is this?

(Y/N)-Um... a book.

Kanga-I know a child could not do this, so who spied on me and my friends?

She wasn't yelling, but I could see that she was still mad and I tried to get out of the blanket to get ready to run. Mama Heffalump just put a bit of her trunk over me. I had to think of something and quick... Maybe I could tell a bit of the truth.

(Y/N)-Th-This is my grandpa's library, I wasn't around when he spied on you! I swear!

Kanga-What about your parents? Do they do the same?

(Y/N)-Ye-! I-I mean, no!

She didn't really believe me and she tossed the book back into the library before she took me from Mama Heffalump to hold me in her arms while I was still in the blanket.

Kanga-Well, thankfully you were not introduced to that awful habit. Spying on others is simply a horrible thing to do to other people who have not done anything. Where are your parents and grandpa?

(Y/N)-I-I don't know.

Kanga-Well, until they have a talk with me and my friends, you and the girls will just be staying with me.

I don't want to get her even more mad if I wanted to get out of these blankets and try to get out of here. I can always come back for the girls. I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a trunk rub my head.

Mama Heffalump-Now dearie, it's still dark out which means we need to try to go back to bed... May I hold him until we make it back to your home? ~

Kanga gave me back to Mama Heffalump and she gently swung me around, but I think she was actually trying to rock me to sleep while playing with me... This could be my chance to try and win them over quickly before we get too far.

(Alice's POV)

This is just like the incident with Mama Bear wanting to keep us, and now Kanga took (Y/N). We were almost back to the library until we saw Kanga, a giant pink elephant, and she was holding (Y/N) in her trunk walking down a path.

(Y/N)-Mama Heffalump, can I lay on your back until we make it back to the house?

Mama Heffalump-Sorry little one, but you might fall off in that blanket. ~

(Y/N)-You can unwrap me and I can hold on to you.

Kanga-I'm not having you get cold out here. Now that you and the girls are living with me at least until I see what your family is like, you will be under my rules. That means, it's bedtime and you will stay in there.

(Y/N)-But... Mommy, I want to come out for a little bit.

They both stopped and I think this has to be some kind of trick... It better be a trick. Kanga looked at him and I think she was blushing a little before she smiled. She took him back from Heffalump, but kept him in the blanket and... kissed his head. This really bothered me and now her just holding him was building up stress.

Kanga-I know you want out, but you should try to go back to bed. 'Mommy' and her friend need to sleep too. You can sleep with me tonight though. ~

Alice's mind-Put him down... He only loves us, so he will never say-.

(Y/N)-Ok.

He gave her a small kiss on her cheek which made the both of them giggle at him. My heart felt like he just shattered at that simple word alone. My mind filled it's self with unkind thoughts, but they stopped when Gerda walked past us and to the living stuffed animals.

Red-What is she doing?! *whisper yell*

Goldilocks-There is an elephant out there! *whisper*

Alice-Elephant... Help me gather rocks and acorns! *whisper*

(Kanga's POV)

I know (Y/N) is trying to sweet talk his way out of bedtime, but it still felt nice to have him call me Mommy. Maybe, he will mean it sometime soon when he is given more of my love. On the way back home, we saw someone walk out onto the path and it... was Gerda.

Kanga-Gerda? What are you doing up?

Gerda-... Give me (Y/N).

Kanga-Excuse me?

Gerda-I am being nice right now. I want my little brother, please... Now.

Kanga-That is no way to ask for starters and you should be in bed with the rest of the-.

Just then, we heard yelling and we saw Red, Goldilocks, and Alice come running at us before they threw rocks and acorns on the ground and this made Mama Heffalump cautious where she stepped.

Kanga-Children! What has gotten into-?!

Just then Gerda caught me by surprise to wipe (Y/N) out of my arms while bumping into me to make me fall on my side.

Gerda-Go!

The girls started to run and Mama Heffalump could not stop them without hurting herself, so I tried to catch up to the girls. I got Gerda before they could make it to the library and (Y/N) looked uncomfortable when I grabbed him and we fought for him.

Kanga-Let go of him this instant!

Gerda-I'm not... I'm not going to feel like this EVER AGAIN!!!

I had no idea what she was talking about, but the rest of the girls came over to knock me down, so Gerda could run with my son again. I hit my head on the ground and everything was spinning and ringing while the girls got off of me.

Mama Heffalump-Kanga!... Kanga! *muffled* *echo*

It took a moment for my head to clear and realized what just happened... Those girls are kidnapping my son to bring him back to that bad family! Mama Hefflump managed to get out of that mess of rocks and acorns to get to me and help me up.

Mama Heffalump-They're getting away! Quickly!

I ran with her after the girls and this betrayal really hurt me. I just wanted to take care of them, but the girls...

Kanga's mind-If they are truely like this... Then I will just take (Y/N) in as my son!

((Y/N)'s POV)

The girls got in the library with me and slammed the doors while we saw Kanga and Mama Heffalump coming this way. I was about to yell to get a book from the box, but Red already got one, opened it to teleport the library before she threw the book to the ground in anger.

*SLAM*

Gerda put me on the chair and I tried to get this blanket off, but Gerda pinned me back onto the chair and looked mad too... Goldilocks and Alice were also mad.

(Y/N)-What?

Goldilocks-Mommy?... YOU CALLED HER MOMMY?!?!?!

(Y/N)-I-I was just trying to get out of this, so I could get ready to run!

Gerda-While you were away from the house?... Away from us?

(Y/N)-I was going to get you!

Red-YOU KISSED HER!!!

Alice-They would have caught you! You wanted to come here alone, didn't you?!

(Y/N)-I-I mean I was come back when they were not around!

They did not like that and Gerda took off her scarf to tie around the blanket to keep me in. When the library got to the new book, the girls did not care and instead surrounded me.

Red-You saved us just to leave us?!

Goldilocks-Do you know how scary that would be to be alone in a new world?!

Alice-I thought you cared about us!

(Y/N)-I-I-!

Gerda-Stop!... I called you my little brother and I meant it... So you are going to learn how to be 'our' brother.

They were all glaring at me and I think I was starting to wish that I stayed with Kanga and Mama Heffalump.
